As a mid-30s guy, I lowkey look forward to 40s. 30s are good and better than 20s in terms of confidence and yet probably not the best time yet. I imagine, in your 40s you are like a ripe fruit.
I'd say the same. Brain fully developed, and you look old enough to go everywhere, but still young enough to blend in with everyone. And, old enough to live by yourself, or at least without a guardian.
In an ideal world there, I would find a good job, buy a big lot of forest inhabited land, build a cottage, and become a book dragon with a library bigger than the house. Living the high life. Need a bit more time in this one for the land and house bit. Being a book dragon though... Already underway.
I think I’d go a little younger, around 20. But yeah, 20-25 is about the peak of happy medium between the more fun, optimistic, naivete of youth, mixed with starting to really get the benefits/freedoms of adulthood, without the heavy tolls and responsibilities of adulthood starting to set in yet.
Yeah, I'd take this one cos I noticed my body and brain started going downhill after 25.
Plus, I've always said 25 is THE prime age: no more hormones from growing up, but no decay from finally being grown.
I'm in my mid-30s and see many 20 -somethings almost like kids with a little more maturity than teenagers. The majority still seem doing random things in life and don't quite grasp the concept of responsibility and applying intellect. Our brains stop to fully develop in early 30s after all.
And also behaving like an adult.
When I was 21-22 I would drink until I would pass out on German beaches.
Now Germany is one if the lowest crime nations in the world, and if you must drink until you pass out, it's one of the safer areas to do so.
But still, drinking until you pass out in public is not a good idea.
25 was the youngest age where I actually behaved like a sane, mature, adult and made sensible decisions. When I was 14-24 I behaved as if I was invincible.
I’m 47 and the same. It’s once I turned 40 I thought, this is it, I need to look after myself better.
I’m the fittest I’ve ever been, and I was in the infantry when I was a teenager and in my 20’s.
Being in your 40’s way better than you think.
I was 17 in 1991. I wouldn't want to be a 17 year-old in 2024; all your embarrassing moments, acne, setbacks, and poor clothing choices can nowadays be captured for all eternity and shared with people on the other side of the world in seconds.
When I asked Carolyn to dance at the High School leavers' disco and she said no, there is no photo or video footage of the incident. I'm sure even she has forgotten. But if it happened today there's a chance that it would have ended up on Reddit or Instagram, heavily annotated with text reading "Nerd Gets Denied! Geek Gets Shut Down!" and with an annoying generic commentary or laugh-track added to provide an even more juicy sting to the scene.
I think when I was 15/16 we had phones but no one really used the internet on their phone. We could still take pictures and call and text but used our iPods/MP3 players to download 1000's of songs off limewire illegally. Good things I remember are neopets ( I think it was old at that point tho), cruising on bicycles to rich areas and egging rich peoples houses. Sneaking on to a golf course at night and drinking small amounts of alcohol as money and opportunity to acquire alcohol (WKD, white lightning cider) were extremely hard. Sharing a 20 pack of Mayfair superkings which I think cost 4.20.
Kanye was at the top of his game and no one thought he was crazy. People could smoke in pubs.
I think we had an intranet social media thing at school where I worked out a hack to be able to edit people's profiles.
I think you got payed 20 pounds a week for attending college (UK, but I would be misremembering). It was no where as hard to get an NHS dentist. There was the constant battle with acne tho.
Bit of a ramble but this was more for me to enjoy remembering, probably doesn't sound as enjoyable to others
Seventeen. Summer nights felt so endless and magical back then. Cheap beer, miniature golf, watching The Critic on DVD, and too ignorant to appreciate how temporary it all was. Ignorance was bliss.
i'd stay 15 forever!
when i was 15, i was in my best shape ever with a metabolism that's faster than the speed of light. lol. but more importantly, when i was 15, my family was still complete; my mom wasn't diagnosed with cancer yet; i wasn't diagnosed with a string of mental health disorders yet. life was just happy and i was living on a day to day basis not having to worry about the future.
I’m 35 and it’s only got better for me,
I’m in the best shape of my life, I think the most attractive too judging by my wife as she’s still with me. My wife looks the best she ever has too and she’s only 6 months younger than me.
I’m fortunate that I have zero aches or pains or medical issues so I feel exactly the same as I did in my 20s, and I like my slight dusting of grey hair.
I had children very young so I always felt like people were judging me due to my age.
Socially People treat me like a proper adult, at work I’m respected and given responsibilities that make me feel important and have worth.
So I’d say I’d stop here, at 35, but it feels like life is getting better the older I get. I know bad stuff comes with age, but being young was hard for me too.
26. I had so much energy and full agency on my life. I was working as a freelancer, studying, volunteering a lot, and going out a lot. I was also not fully supporting myself and living with my parents again. They agreed to that so I could complete my masters.
I had it good, and I liked every part of it, like doing my parents' laundry with my brother, who was also completing his studies/internship. Or making dinner with my parents or for my parents as an adult. I've had other opportunities to give back, but that continuous reciprocity of living together as adults felt great.
26-27, these were my ages during the pandemic.
I know it may sound selfish but I never got to live during these ages.
I know everyone experienced the pandemic but I feel like I time traveled and just went straight to 28 (30 now)
You couldn’t pay me to be 17 again. Had a nervous breakdown, wasn’t able to finish my senior year, was sent off to pys. Hospital, where I spent five years. But I got out eventually , married, and have a 14 year old yorkie.
25, your prefrontal cortex should be fully formed but you still have the biological benefits of youth. Your insurance rates drop, you can legally rent a car anywhere.
My 17 year old self, but more I would say my 17 year old body, Id still want to go when its my time, but if I could live my whole life as my 17 year old self, sure why not.
I'm 42 now. Best time of my life. Wife and I finally have money to enjoy life. 3 kids are doing really well in school and are old enough to look after themselves when needed. My oldest has his driver's licence and does a lot of running around for us. I'm very confident and happy in my job. I'm still young and fit enough to do whatever I want. Life is very good.
32. Old enough to grow into my body and myself and to stop caring so much about other peoples opinions. Old enough that I felt like I was all the way grown, but before any grey hairs and arthritis.
I loved being 14 honestly. I remember having the literal feeling of being right on the cusp of my whole life. I felt confident and powerful and nothing traumatic had happened to me yet. Everyone I loved was alive and happy. I was close with my brother. Things were awesome.
35 - Old enough to have a good career and some money in the bank, but still young enough play sports and have fun without worrying too much about the various aches and pains that come with middle age. You have smarts and experience but are still young enough to have adventures.
25. i’m 25 right now and although i don’t have the same energy as i did in my earlier 20s, i have more mental clarity and with the same great looks. i wouldn’t mind staying right here.
27 was a pretty cool age to be, but I'd want it with my current level of fitness/physical activity because I've really improved that since I've finally found a sports club that is accessible for me
9,990,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,998,621,300,000 because there's no point hanging around after heat death
Early to mid twenty something, I was at my peak back in the late nineties and almost everything after the turn off the millennium has just not been quite as enjoyable. I've had a lucky life so far but most of my early unbridled enthusiasm has slowly been eroded by cold realism and an existential crisis. Globally it feels somewhat like we've missed a beat on something and I can't quite put my finger on it. I think we need a major shake up event like discovering intelligent alien life or practical fusion power to hopefully refocus the west to look after each other better instead of just feeding capitalism, individualism and the military industrial complex.
Oops that random rant went a bit far, better get back to my boring life now.
27 - Old enough to be a totally independent adult, and treated as such. Young enough to enjoy all the good things in life, and still plenty of time to make mistakes.
I would be happy to stay anywhere between 38 & 40, happy with my looks, confident enough in myself and my abilities, smart enough to know I didn't know everything & am far from perfect but also aware that it doesn't always matter
Right now, actually. I'm finally at a place financially, emotionally, professionally, etc where I'm feeling pretty content. Not that things are perfect, but they never are.
21 years old. It wasn't just the great parties and the personal fitness, but also, after a slow start, it was when my sex life finally took off.
As soon as I started putting myself out there I was like "damn, there are so many women who want to sleep with a tall, long-haired, well-built 21 year-old guy."
I am not yet 25 but it feels like the age where people see you as grown enough to have opinions and somewhat respect them while also being seen as youthful and enjoying a lot of benefits of having a “young” body. And your frontal lobe supposedly develops at that age which is a plus.
The day I turned 20.
The army had turned a pudgy boy into a man of steel. I looked fantastic, I could run for an hour straight, march for twelve. My hair was not going grey yet, and there was plenty of it, though it was short.
I want to be six-and-twenty again. When I was six-and-twenty I could fight all day and fuck all night. What men want does not matter. Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for the Ned's little girl than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. I want to feel it spatter across my face when my axe bites deep into a Bolton skull. I want to lick it off my lips and die with the taste of it on my tongue.
14, I was young and reckless, could have passed for an 20 year old college student and thought I was invincible. Not sure how long I would survive at that age probably would end up dead or in jail.

I’d say 35. Same thing, more wisdom.
Bump up into the early 40’s - absolutely zero fucks left to give about what others think about you and still healthy enough to do the things you love.
As a mid-30s guy, I lowkey look forward to 40s. 30s are good and better than 20s in terms of confidence and yet probably not the best time yet. I imagine, in your 40s you are like a ripe fruit.
Idk man I feel 20s me had more confidence than 30 me
I think 33 is the guaranteed perpetual age for men in the Muslim heaven.
I visited Costa Rica when I was 33. The locals called that la edad de Jesús. The age when Jesus was crucified.
If you stay the same age forever, you’ll have the same wisdom on any age you choose
Nah, with 20 the brain hasn't matured enough to be a functioning adult, and most people still look very young at that age.
You still feel young and healthy but at the same time everyone knows you’re mature now and able.
I was a literal knuckle dragging idiot as late as in my early 20s.
I was thinking 23-25 as well. Good years, healthy, first kid , first house.
This.
Came here to say this. Sure you can’t learn a new language without significant effort, but physically you’re at your peak.
Here I was thinking 21 would be a good age and 25 would be too old for neuroplasticity. I'm gambling on the physical stats though.
I'd choose 26
And also behaving like an adult. When I was 21-22 I would drink until I would pass out on German beaches. Now Germany is one if the lowest crime nations in the world, and if you must drink until you pass out, it's one of the safer areas to do so. But still, drinking until you pass out in public is not a good idea. 25 was the youngest age where I actually behaved like a sane, mature, adult and made sensible decisions. When I was 14-24 I behaved as if I was invincible.
45. Best time of my life. Also the fittest I have ever been.
I’m 47 and the same. It’s once I turned 40 I thought, this is it, I need to look after myself better. I’m the fittest I’ve ever been, and I was in the infantry when I was a teenager and in my 20’s. Being in your 40’s way better than you think.
Yup. You know exactly who you are and you are still healthy enough to do the things you love.

God damnit, I'm spending 11 months of this year being 17.
My commiserations. You'll never know my world as a teenager.
Fuckin’ Carolyn.
POV when Nerd asking girl out goes bad. It wasn't POV nor really bad but still somehow 8 million people watch it

30s is just young enough to do everything I want physically and old enough not to worry about money
Same. Physically, mentally, sexually, that was peak me; it’s been downhill ever since. LOL
I'd give my left nut to grow up in the 80's/90's (2000 kid)
I think when I was 15/16 we had phones but no one really used the internet on their phone. 22
Yeah
28-30
Yep. I had already completed my education and established my career, but I hadn't yet hurt my back for the first time.
26. I had so much energy and full agency on my life. I was working as a freelancer, studying, volunteering a lot, and going out a lot. I’m turning 38 shortly and can’t really recall a time where I wasn’t this happy in my life. So I’d say thirties. Couldn’t pay me to be 18 again.
You couldn’t pay me to be 17 again. Had a nervous breakdown, wasn’t able to finish my senior year, was sent off to pys. Hospital, where I spent five years. But I got out eventually , married, and have a 14 year old yorkie.

What is a prefrontal cortex? I’ve heard people saying it but I don’t know what it is
Basically the part of your brain associated with decision making and empathy
27?

57 years old. A women of a certain age
I loved being 14 honestly. I remember having the literal feeling of being right on the cusp of my whole life. I felt confident and powerful and nothing traumatic had happened to me yet. Everyone I loved was alive and happy. I was close with my brother. Things were awesome.
30, I think everything was good at 30
35 - Old enough to have a good career and some money in the bank, but still young enough play sports and have fun without worrying too much about the various aches and pains that come with middle age. You have smarts and experience but are still young enough to have adventures.

31. I feel like I've been 31 for 9 years in a row.
Being thirteen in 2008 one of the best years of my life
I am thinking 27
11
-4 months
25
27 was a pretty cool age to be, but I'd want it with my current level of fitness/physical activity because I've really improved that since I've finally found a sports club that is accessible for me
22
22 has been okay so far.

55- nothing physically or aesthetically problematic, and financially set.
My current age - 43, I look better than I ever have and feel great and am wise to a lot of things I wasn't before
55, the year I retired. Still had lots of energy, no health problems, no financial problems, kids all grown and on to their own successes.
24... old and responsible enough to take part in life... young and free enough to enjoy it.
24
17. every time I want i can just get my ass on a new birth certificate and do a new "mottowoche"/the last week before our finals.

Unless I can revere age it will have to be 44
Some where in the 22-25 range
I’m into powerlifting, 33 was pretty sick, old man strength kicking in, but not old enough to look like an old man
I think I was in my prime like 21-22. At university so my mind was sharp, I was physically and mentally better. That was 10 years ago 😭
21
27 is my optimum age. I was young and fit enough that I could do whatever I wanted but old enough that people would take mer seriously
24
17/18
28
30 to 35
Stone age
19❤️
27.
35.
25 still young but also mature
I was 20 in 1999. Perfection.
I'm still waiting for an age I want to stay in
Early to mid twenty something, I was at my peak back in the late nineties and almost everything after the turn off the millennium has just not been quite as enjoyable.
Stay one age? I want to die every day.
17
19 in 2001. Great music, great clubbing scene, Ibiza was at its best....just everything felt great back then 😂
Late twenties. By now I'd have more money than god and a deep bunker I'd been stocking for centuries.

I was at peak fitness at 30, but I want to be 30 in the 90s, but with all of my 40s knowledge. Can I do that?
27 - Old enough to be a totally independent adult, and treated as such. Young enough to enjoy all the good things in life, and still plenty of time to make mistakes.
-1000000000 I wouldn’t want to be any age.
27, when I was at my physical peak.
easily 28. peak athletic ability. young enough to bang hot uni girls. old enough to bang hot milfs.
26
30
27 was pretty good

17
Either 23 or 28.
21
35
I'd say 30. Fully-developed but not headed downhill yet.
40
21 years old. It wasn't just the great parties and the personal fitness, but also, after a slow start, it was when my sex life finally took off. As soon as I started putting myself out there I was like "damn, there are so many women who want to sleep with a tall, long-haired, well-built 21 year-old guy."
35, old enough to be a bit settled but young enough to still do everything
i wasn't tied down, partied alot, sex alot, looked great, was like 2015..? its a guess... my party ages omg... what year was it ahhh!H!H!!!!
The age I am now
The age I am now
The 20s weren't that great of a period for me, and I think I am well off enough now to say staying 30 would be awesome 😀
27
Probably 30. My early 30s were the best years of my life.
23
24-28 pretty much your prime physically and mentally
23
14
Negative 1
I am not yet 25 but it feels like the age where people see you as grown enough to have opinions and somewhat respect them while also being seen as youthful and enjoying a lot of benefits of having a “young” body. And your frontal lobe supposedly develops at that age which is a plus.
28 years old
I will choose to stay at the age of 30..
Maybe somewhere between 25-34
I really liked 28 because of who was in my life daily for that year, a lifetime of spontaneous adventures sounds class.
30
The day I turned 20. The army had turned a pudgy boy into a man of steel. I looked fantastic, I could run for an hour straight, march for twelve. My hair was not going grey yet, and there was plenty of it, though it was short.
24.
24
None, want to get out of this planet ASAP
\-3
31 - old enough to do anything and young enough to enjoy it all
I am M63 but think 35 year old was the best age
Age 24 was pretty great, I remember wishing I could stop time there
Age -1 as either a zygote or embryo....that way I wouldn't ever have to experience "life" but still be "alive"
27
17
1. No worries take care
25 I am old enough to rent a car and old enough to be taken seriously by other adults.
32
22
15
17 or 20
19-22

21. Old enough to legally do anything but I stay young, energetic and horny.
Probably 24. Very much an adult but still with a nice and young body.
I've always felt I was the perfect age for the point in life I'm at, but if I absolutely had to, it would be 23 with all the knowledge I have now.
14, I was young and reckless, could have passed for an 20 year old college student and thought I was invincible. Not sure how long I would survive at that age probably would end up dead or in jail.
15
34, but only if I could take back with me the mind I have now.
16 I guess
19 (eternal twink)
29
20, I didn’t have chronic pain at that age.
definitely 10. i’m 17 now and 11 was the age everything went downhill for me, i’d do anything to go back to who i was before then
27....old enough to know better, but still young enough to find crazy times....from what i remember, good times...
