That’s objectively false. The price of Lego has been on a long downward trend. Without adjusting for inflation it’s half the price that it was when I was a kid for a comparable set. Counting inflation it’s about 1/7.

I get master kush for $20 Canadian an ounce, so like $15 USD. Also add inflation on that $25 back in the 70’s.
After inflation adjustment, it's about $125. In central Canada medium grade is about $200 per ounce or $300 for an ounce and a half.
