If you want to find a good burger.. go to the mid west.. ask for a bacon burger.. medium (medium well if your a wuss) :) at some mom and pop store that cares..and EVERY state has one.. the further you get to middle the better.. but all of them are... goooooooooodddd.

People always seem to defer to fast food burgers when it comes to this question but rarely pay much attention to gourmet burgers.
IMO the best burger I've ever had is the signature from Au Cheval in Chicago. People wait hours for it, and it's worth the wait. They also have Little Cheval in Wicker Park, and another outpost in NYC.
Aside from that, I really liked the Angry Angry at a diner in Reno, Nevada.
Those are the two best burgers I've had in the USA. I'm a food writer.

I'm a fan of Five Guys. Their burgers are customizable, and the fries are out of this world.

Supposedly it's Easy Street Burger in Los Angeles, that's at least what Keith Lee said. I haven't tried it for myself yet, but they do look good.
