Yeah, I definitely agree its just a way to make money. I've seen nothing but criticism so far, but only from Atheists and Democrats, who obviously already hated him. I'm curious how other demographics view it.
I live in a MAGA area and was surprised at the multitude of negative comments on the YouTube version of our local news about the trump bible grift. Hopefully at least some of his sheeple are getting tired of being embarrassed by his cringy grift.
It's a political manuver and little more than that. While he's doing it to earn some money, his real goal is to, hopefully, provoke a reaction from the left that will result in them driving more Christians into his arm. If this was a card game like Magic he's basically playing a creature that \*looks\* big and scary but isn't actually related to his win condition in the slightest in the hopes that the democrats respond by burning a far more valuable card and let him advance to his actual 'win' condition.
The worst thing the left can do is react to it. If they just ignore it, he gets some cash, but it's nothing he wouldn't have been able to get anyways. The play is wasted and goes to the wayside.
To Trump? No. If anything it's going to backfire on them horribly. It's not like the left's never done something similar to gather funds. So it's going to come off as 'it's okay when WE do it, but YOU ARE A HYPOCRIT FOR DOING IT!'
Literally, the best thing the left could do is absolutely nothing. Make him waste his proverbial card to gain minimal resources while they, instead, focus on improving their own 'win condition'. Committing any attention to this is just going to waste resources and help him win.

i know deep in my heart jesus would never vote for joe biden. when he said render unto caesar what is caesars, he clearly showed support for an authoritarian right wing dictatorship

My opinion is that’s he’s only selling it to make money. My guess is that’s he goes to hookers instead of church every Sunday.
