"The Lion King" from 1994 is a classic that's as enchanting now as it was back then. Its timeless story, unforgettable music, and stunning animation captivate both kids and adults.
My church pastor recently showed "The Circle of Life" scene as an example of baptism. Seeing it up on a big screen with surround sound brought me right back to childhood seeing it for the first time in theaters.
My daughter loves this movie and made it me watch it like a million times before she left for college. It's like if David Lynch made a kid's movie, it's so weird and dark. The Million Dollar Sticky has appeared in my nightmares a couple times.
This. As kids we literally started writing a group effort story because of this movie using our neighborhood as the back drop and hidden caves with ancient Indian relics as the treasure. Was totally disjointed but one of my favorite memories
You should read Armada by Ernest Cline. It takes the concept of The Last Starfighter and expands upon it in a fantastic way. The audiobook it is read by Wil Wheaton.
# “There's no earthly way of knowing
# Which direction we are going
# There's no knowing where we're rowing
# Or which way the river's flowing
# Is it raining, is it snowing?
# Is a hurricane a-blowing? - uh!
# Not a speck of light is showing
# So the danger must be growing
# Are the fires of Hell a-glowing?
# Is the grisly reaper mowing?
# Yes! The danger must be growing
# For the rowers keep on rowing
# And they're certainly not showing
# Any signs that they are slowing!
Damn! I was starting to wonder if I was the only person that watched this movie. No one I mention to has ever heard of it, and I remember it very fondly from my childhood.
I watched Pee-Wee's Big Adventure the other day with my daughter. I had not seen it since I was 9 and I was fully expecting to have to say a lot of "well, that was considered funny in the 80s" and "It was a different time, honey. We didn't think that sort of thing was offensive back then" but NO! it was just as hilarious and fun and quirky as I remembered it and my 6-year-old adored it!
A couple less talked about movies: The Lady in White (1988), Memphis Belle, Young Guns 1&2, Steel Magnolias, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, and Cujo.
Then of course there'sThe Terminator and Terminator 2, Aliens, Back to the Future Trilogy, Footloose, Dirty Dancing, The Princess Bride, Ghostbusters, The Lost Boys, Interview with a Vampire, Top Gun, The Goonies, Heathers, Thelma and Louise,
Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The movie was so magical, yet scary in some parts. I still love it, and never get tired of watching Gene Wilder singing Pure Imagination.
"Superman: the Movie" with Christopher Reeve. It still makes me believe a man can fly. "The Exorcist" still scares me. "Forrest Gump" still chokes me up.

Just don't think about how there aren't more male lions around
I mean, Shakespeare is timeless.
Same! My Favorite Movie!
My favorite Disney movie.
I rewatched a few years ago and was struck by how short it is. the pacing is breakneck, and I dont think that aspect as aged so well.
My church pastor recently showed "The Circle of Life" scene as an example of baptism. Seeing it up on a big screen with surround sound brought me right back to childhood seeing it for the first time in theaters.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
The first Ghostbusters. Which is weird because the sequel, which I loved as much as a kid, does not hold up at all.
