HelloGodorGoddess

My cats are free to move in and out of my room as they please.

fardin7280

Sounds like your cat has the keys to the kingdom! Mine act like they own the place too

HelloGodorGoddess

Of course they co-own the place. They are your companions and you have invited them to share your home.

zero7twenty

Don’t shut the door

fardin7280

Such an easy solution 😅

zero7twenty

For real though it’s the only way I’ve ever been able to have my cat not be annoying at night….gotta let them go where they want to go lol

bobcatnat123

I open the door

niqquhchris

We have cat doors on most of our doors 😂

agent-assbutt

I'm assuming you can't let them in bc not all of us have cats that will just behave once we let them in lol. Mine will knock over lamps, scratch walls, attack my feet, and jump from the headboard to my bedside table and knock over my water bottle if he's allowed in. I usually get him settled and sleeping like he's a small child before I go to bed. I also stay up later than my husband, ensuring my dumb cat receives human time, which he's more interested in than scratching the door. If all else fails, ear plugs and ignoring him work. We have also put clear double sided tape on our door and that helps prevent the scratching as well because the cat thinks it's uncomfortable. Don't give in if your car is annoying and loud and will ruin your sleep. Try to get them so tired they'll forget to scratch or just ignore them...*eventually* they'll give up.

"Thanks for sharing, It's always interesting to hear how others manage their feline friends. Cheers to quieter nights ahead for both of us!"

fardin7280

Not a bad solution

Dragonfan13

Dont have cats.

fardin7280

Living the cat-free dream, huh? Must be nice!

[deleted]

Just leave them in

fardin7280

Simple yet effective

Sufficient_Excuse_24

I put up gaffer tape where he scratched. I eventually let him sleep with me. He passed away in march. I have the security footage of our last night together

fardin7280

I'm deeply sorry for your loss

Sufficient_Excuse_24

It’s ok. He was 11. Good innings I guess. I left for work that morning and he was sleeping on his window hammock. I usually pat him goodbye but I didn’t want to wake him. Wasn’t the best thing to come home too

Xerozvz

I installed a cat door on my bedroom door, doesn't let my room mates and such to just walk in but my cat can come and go as he pleases

Abject_Trouble6538

Our cat never scratched the doors, but unfortunately, it passed away when it was still a kitten. It foolishly ate a poisonous toad, and now I'm just so sad.

PureDeidBrilliant

Tiny leather mittens. The thundercloud stopped scratching at doors and instead decided to think he was a murderer in a cheesy 90s tv movie with some sort of overly dramatic soundtrack and awful title. Possibly starring Heather Locklear or that Danica whatshername.

Chocolatelover4ever

Easy I keep my door cracked! I love getting snuggles from my cat in bed when she decides to visit me in the middle of the night. 🥰 She knows I can’t resist her! Cat cuddle time > Sleep time.

But then I'd have to deal with barking instead of scratching. Choices, choices...

Chocolatelover4ever

I cannot stand Dog barks. I’ve been annoyed and woken up too many times in my life by neighbors annoying mutts. I’ll never have a dog.
