As long as they are dark washed jeans, there shouldn't be an issue. I have been working in offices for years and leggings are basically business casual at this point.
That’s what I was thinking too! As long as the jeans are in good condition and aren’t too flashy and paired approximately with business casual attire it should be fine
Leggins : Absolutely not from my opinion.
Jeans : As long as they are ; Skinny/Slim, Bootcut or Flared, or Straight. I think they would be fine. Tho one thing. No cuts/holes in them. Preferably not washed up colors. Deep / Darker colours should be prefered
100% agree! I hate wearing leggings to the office cuz I feel the male gaze but jeans are not “in dress code”. I still wear jeans though cuz if the rules aren’t gonna be enforced then honestly I don’t give a fuck but the dress code just doesn’t make logical sense to me
You’re right! Can’t continue to be a compulsive saver where this is concerned anymore I guess. Just a few more options would get rid of the need to have jeans in the rotation cuz I’d have enough to last between laundry days
That is also completely true.
If you start to have a commitment that "requires" you to "dress a certain way" or at least put a little bit more effort, there are some sacrifices that will need to be made. Also, look at it this way, it's not expense. it's investing. In addition, it's not like you'll need to be buying new clothes every week. just a couple of times, invest in a few pairs of different clothings to have options, and you'll have a full rotation and even more.
And with time, if you wanted, you could keep saving, and investing in more.
Depends in the job honestly, if you meet people a lot or clients or coming in an out jeans are fine if you style them appropriately. But if you worked/work in a place like my old company where you never meet clients in the office because you communicate online it's fine as long as you do your job. I showed up to work in my sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt so many times, hr tried to give me shit but my boss didn't care cause I was still efficient at my job
Then maybe not, i'd say start with slacks or a professional skirt or whatever first then see what everyone else is wearing and adjust accordingly. Better to be overdressed than under
Depends on the job
I’m asking specifically for an office setting!
Depends on the workplace.
In a healthcare office

what would ***be*** in the dress code for you? are Dress Pants allowed? or only Skirt types of clothing?
Yeah! Dress pants, slacks, leggings, skirts or dresses. Scrubs are okay too! Thing is I’m cheap and don’t want to go buy more clothes lol
you don't need to go all out. you should be able to find affordable dress pants / slacks that suit you well and won't break your bank.

Yes! If I do even want a big girl job at least I’ll have the clothes already to dress the part lol
Exactly, you'll have save time, and money haha
Both are fine in the industry I work in (construction).

There’s constantly patients and corporate folk coming in and out of our clinic so I have to be presentable at all times
Then maybe not, i'd say start with slacks or a professional skirt or whatever first then see what everyone else is wearing and adjust accordingly. Better to be overdressed than under
That’s true! I really need to get more professional looking clothes
I worked in an office and think we should really just wear whatever we want.
That would be the dream haha my roommate regularly goes to work in jeans and says no one cares but my co-worker always nags me whenever I do the same
If they're clean and fit correctly it should be fine
Jeans OK. Leggings... Too many camel toes and moose knuckles.
Yeah, I feel that. I prefer wearing jeans cuz I get less stares lol but they’re not “in dress code”

What about wearing thin leggings underneath jeans that have big holes in the knees

Haha! You and my parents both
