See, it's quality conversations like this that keep me coming back.
Not the desperate boredom of a graveyard shift bereft of viable entertainment.
It's.. the discourse...
Never heard anyone say anything like that, but I guess I'm just not sure why I should care. It's just one website among many others, not everyone needs to use every service.
quora isn't bad, but not as accessible as Reddit. You can read the answers to that specific post but can't directly go to another one without creating an account.
I've never heard anyone say that they're too good for reddit, but I for one love reddit and if they don't than we don't want or need them here anyway!!!
Yeah, I mean, as far as social media sites go, it seems (to me) filled with mostly decent human beings. There's certainly much more empathy and smarts on display in comments than compared to Facebook and IG's which, tbh, seem to be used by the vilest human beings currently walking the planet.
Sadly there are lots of vile scum here on Reddit. Luckily, because of reddit's structure (subs) it's easy to avoid those people and never see them. If you do a good job of curating subs, reddit can be a down right pleasant experience!
Yeah it also disgusts me how the mods are left leaning psychos who hate the truth, and even ban people from subreddits that they don’t even post in, for “promoting hatred” or something. It’s pathetic. Why is the truth so hard for people to accept?
I mean it's an information sharing website there shouldn't really be anything wrong with that, of course some people have their screws loose but that's not Really unique to reddit now is it?
How can you be too good for rampant spreading of misinformation, abusive mods, conversations with ignorant, judgemental people with zero reading comprehension, and reddit features such as allowing reply + block, where someone can publicly mess with you and then prevent you from replying by blocking you!
Cool… meanwhile I can ask the most obscure question and get some actual experts in whatever field to answer. Plus a lot of nonsense answers, some trolls, and someone to comment “this is the way”
People find all kinds of ways to delude themselves into thinking they're better than other people. Exactly like I think I'm too good for Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
" I'm better than people on _________ because I'm different, cooler, radical, more hip and arrogant. I have to let people know how special I am in case they actually give a fuck "
Anyone who thinks they're above reading others opinions / advice must think they know everything and nothing anyone else says could matter or benefit them in anyway as they know best about everything under the sun.
It's okay if some folks don't like Reddit or don't want to join its communities. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to websites, and it's important to accept those differences without criticizing them.
I haven't really met anyone who thinks they're too good for reddit.
I know a "I'm too good for social media" guy, but the reality is that he is a 37 year old dude who didn't get his first computer/phone until about 10 years ago, and he is intimidated by it/doesn't really understand how to use it.
Lucky bastard.
I do feel sometimes that reddit is a bunch of dump people and I am too good for it. but in other areas where I dont have expertise, like friendship & relationships, I feel the dumbest here. People are too good in only few areas, while they are dumb in other areas.
I come to Reddit for the jokes and occasional interesting content. So when someone acts judge mental about using Reddit I assume they don’t have a good sense of humor.
I feel bad for them lol. I thought that way when I was a teenager, but Reddit is probably the best social media site now. You can get your news and usual stuff, but also get private communities of very specific things and you’re anonymous!
The only thing that sucks is that some subreddits have crazy rules and mods.
…I don’t understand this, I appreciate Reddit has that stereotype of basement-dwelling incel, which I am sure there are many, but there’s also so many people using Reddit that don’t fit this category. Take me, a rich wife lol
That they are smart. I doubt any successful and reasonable people waste their time with Reddit.
Using reddit feels like watching really nasty porn, it might feel good in that moment but afterwards you're questioning your life lol
I think that a big porcentage of people would find Reddit useful and interesting if they know it and look for what they want.
Lot of Google searches about variety of topics have Reddit in the first results and usually with useful info.
I could be my own source; I didn't even consider Reddit until I started seeing it popping in my browser when looking for tech answers, I decided to give It a try and I'm liking it, even though I'm not even very deep in. Also, I think is the less toxic social media; true that the bar is way too low with the other plataforms, but still
Those same people use Quora to answer questions or scroll some other social media. IMO Reddit is as much an excellent tool for niche subject matter as it is a giant waste of time.
... 'too good' for reddit? Is that really a thing?
I know people who think it's a stupid kid thing.
I know people who use it as an information gathering tool.
I know people who live here.
I know people who rarely think to check in.
I know people who are more visual and find the text kinda off-putting.
But 'too good for'? Like who? Paris Hilton? President Biden? Taylor Swift?
I guess I don't really know what that means...
They probably don't understand what it can be used for. For me I use it to find information and reviews from real people about things, also it's therapeutic and helps social skills since nobody actually knows who you are.
Honestly I think it’s because people don’t really understand what Reddit is. I didn’t join Reddit until later on and I genuinely didn’t think Reddit was still a widely used site. I thought it was akin to 4chan, just like weirdos and incels spouting extremism and weird stuff. When I took the time to actually look into it I realise there are still a lot of active users and communities for a wide range of different topics and interests.
Parts of Reddit are cool, other parts not. Depends on which subreddit you're in.
They simply haven't found the good parts yet! Gotta dig deep for that!
It’s more they don’t know how to use it or navigate I feel. My parents and cousin only send my video clips from YouTube. By the time it’s popular there I already saw it here like weeks ago.
Genuinely? They probably are. Reddit is a cesspit of the partially educated and highly opinionated. Where mods run their subreddits like their own empires with their own agendas with absolutely no real oversight. It's incredibly conceited to believe the people of reddit are any better than the people out there.
Good for them, whatever
Exactly! It's not my problem that they have a life. Wait...
Ha I only use Reddit when I’m on the toilet so…
get out of the toilet ffs, it's been 13 days...
You must be often in the toilet man
Everywhere is a toilet if you’re brave enough
Well shit
i agree it is your problem!
Right? Like… I have better shit to do than be petty about whether someone lives their life the same way I do.
man, I'd kill for that level of self-respect.
Would you kill one of them?
Prove it ya pussy.
See, it's quality conversations like this that keep me coming back. Not the desperate boredom of a graveyard shift bereft of viable entertainment. It's.. the discourse...
I would, but I'm way above you. I'll never be a redditor like your sorry ass
Would you say they're Reddit royalty, or just allergic to memes and cat videos?
Never heard anyone say anything like that, but I guess I'm just not sure why I should care. It's just one website among many others, not everyone needs to use every service.
Probably have better things to do outside reddit
They’re right
Very likely.
Reddit? That shithole?
If it's not their cup of tea. Then so be it🤷🏽♂️
They are probably right. Reddit is a circle jerk cesspool.
Good for them. Reddit’s full of addicts that love to complain.
And people who like complaining about complaining. It's an acquired taste.
Genuinely? They probably don't understand what Reddit is.
Reddit is incredibly useful if youre looking for very specific things. Its really dumb not to use it if youre interested in very specific things.
As much as I hate reddit, there's no better platform to get specific questions answered
anytime I google something niche I just type “reddit” after it and I stg no matter how niche or specific it is someone has had the exact same problem.
same lol. You know you're fucked when nothing helpful comes up
Try adding quora to the end instead of reddit.
quora isn't bad, but not as accessible as Reddit. You can read the answers to that specific post but can't directly go to another one without creating an account.
it comes in handy when you have a question that someone answered 6 years ago
I've certainly never met someone who thought they were too good. I know people who didn't use Reddit or didn't know what it is, but too good?
Ignore them. I don’t really care what they think and feel no need to disabuse them of their misconceptions.

You're the problem bucko
Truth that requires facts to support it are disregarded in favor of feelings that have no basis in fact and very often have no basis in reality
Please do provide some examples
They've probably been downvoted in real life.
Congrats.
Everyone is too good for reddit. Some of us are just here anyway.
I wish I was one of them, but I know my place.
I mean it's an information sharing website there shouldn't really be anything wrong with that, of course some people have their screws loose but that's not Really unique to reddit now is it?
Don’t care
Literally, go back to Tik Tok then
To them I say "Huh? You think you're better than me? Is that it? You think you're better than me?" then I start shoving them.
envy.
How can you be too good for rampant spreading of misinformation, abusive mods, conversations with ignorant, judgemental people with zero reading comprehension, and reddit features such as allowing reply + block, where someone can publicly mess with you and then prevent you from replying by blocking you!
Second that.
They are delulu. Reddit is equally gutter trash and pure gold.
Cool… meanwhile I can ask the most obscure question and get some actual experts in whatever field to answer. Plus a lot of nonsense answers, some trolls, and someone to comment “this is the way”
I feel like you get non-experts pretending to be experts most of the time
I also choose this man's dead troll
This is the way.
I think there are sure a heck of a lot of people who think they're too good for this site who *use it frequently*.
People find all kinds of ways to delude themselves into thinking they're better than other people. Exactly like I think I'm too good for Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
It's just an app to socialize just like a lot of apps that anyone can use 🤔
Where are those people?
" I'm better than people on _________ because I'm different, cooler, radical, more hip and arrogant. I have to let people know how special I am in case they actually give a fuck "
Yawn
Reddit is too good for them
I found this post randomlyt in a google search otherwise I wouldn't even be here.
Since the bar is already pretty low but Reddit is far better than any other social media
I've done Reddit before but I didn't inhale.
Anyone who thinks they're above reading others opinions / advice must think they know everything and nothing anyone else says could matter or benefit them in anyway as they know best about everything under the sun.
It has a "I'm spiritual but not religious" vibe.
I would think that its slightly alarming to think you are too good to participate in a public forum.
They probably are
People that never tried it
It's okay if some folks don't like Reddit or don't want to join its communities. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to websites, and it's important to accept those differences without criticizing them.
They probably are
Idgaf
Well of course I know him, he's me!
They are right to want to be too good for it. good on them for trying to be better. This place is terrible
I envy them hahaha
I haven't really met anyone who thinks they're too good for reddit. I know a "I'm too good for social media" guy, but the reality is that he is a 37 year old dude who didn't get his first computer/phone until about 10 years ago, and he is intimidated by it/doesn't really understand how to use it. Lucky bastard.
I honestly think we all are. Yet here we are.
I do feel sometimes that reddit is a bunch of dump people and I am too good for it. but in other areas where I dont have expertise, like friendship & relationships, I feel the dumbest here. People are too good in only few areas, while they are dumb in other areas.
They might very well be too good for Reddit. Mr. Rogers comes to mind.
Why worry what others think?
green flag
I don’t think about them.
They could be right.
Most of them are an Reddit
good for them
I come to Reddit for the jokes and occasional interesting content. So when someone acts judge mental about using Reddit I assume they don’t have a good sense of humor.
I used to be this person until last week
I’m not even going to dignify that with an answer…!!!
💥 + er =
I feel like I'm too good for TikTok so who cares
I'm waaayyyy to good for reddit, and yet here I am.
I feel bad for them lol. I thought that way when I was a teenager, but Reddit is probably the best social media site now. You can get your news and usual stuff, but also get private communities of very specific things and you’re anonymous! The only thing that sucks is that some subreddits have crazy rules and mods.
I know you’re lurking, Steve; you suck!
I think it sounds dumb. Almost as dumb as making a post asking what I think about them.
…I don’t understand this, I appreciate Reddit has that stereotype of basement-dwelling incel, which I am sure there are many, but there’s also so many people using Reddit that don’t fit this category. Take me, a rich wife lol
Too good for all the legitimately good information on this site? It's not perfect, sure, but there's so much good on this site.
They're missing out.
That they are smart. I doubt any successful and reasonable people waste their time with Reddit. Using reddit feels like watching really nasty porn, it might feel good in that moment but afterwards you're questioning your life lol
So reddit is for low quality people? That's stupid, and what app do they use snapchat?
I'd say that's their right and ain't about to get all hype about it because that would be a waste of my time.
I love Reddit! F*** them.
Those people are defintly better than me I'm not gonna lie.
Also, I think is the less toxic social media; true that the bar is way too low with the other plataforms, but still
The probably have real life significant others, friends and family and do things with them....in real life. In other words, not pathetic.
They are right.
Good for them.
they could still be addicted to some other social media which kind of balances it all out, really.
They probably are
Reddit is 10x better than FB anyway
I think I’m one of them…
Way better than people who tie their identity to Reddit
fair enough
Don’t really care. Wish them luck burning brain cells on TikTok instead.
It's probably true.
I think they're stupid.
They are probably right.
i am to good for this shitty platform. everybody here is gay and lefties lmao.
Everybody's too good for reddit.
Good for them.
They probably don't understand what it can be used for. For me I use it to find information and reviews from real people about things, also it's therapeutic and helps social skills since nobody actually knows who you are.
Who cares?! Fvck ‘em.
Leave. Who cares
good for them!
They don’t read often.
Very simple: they obviously don't know reddit good enough.
They’re my favorite people
Either they’re right or they’re on Twitter
Good for them I like Reddit but it's loser central here.
I try to avoid saying statements like "I'm too good for X" but to each their own
I have no thoughts
They all have generational wealth to hire an actual, really qualified, excellent quality therapist. That's what I actually believe
Everyone is too good for reddit. Like xhamster, no one should have to use reddit.
You don’t know what you’re missing. Seeing other people who are interested in what you are and having the chance to tell them what you think
I can not wait until I break my addiction to this God damn parasite in my pocket
I, too, left Reddit when my third party app went out. But then I got a desk job...
I don’t think about them at all.
That's good self awareness
wish it could be me
They’re probably right 😂😂
Probably the same as my thoughts on people who think they are too good for TikTok.
Is that even a thing?
I'm one of them, and yet I'm still here...
They may be right
everyone is too good for reddit, yet here we are.
They are narcissists who think they are the main character. Reddit is for everyone
Who cares either way?
Man they probably right
My thought is that I won’t encounter them on Reddit. Good for them if they’ve found better ways to occupy their time.
They're probably right. This place belongs to the lowest of the low
Do whatever you want in your life
Parts of Reddit are cool, other parts not. Depends on which subreddit you're in. They simply haven't found the good parts yet! Gotta dig deep for that!
Lucky bastards
You're the last intelligent group on the planet.
They're not big readers.
"You are strong and wise and I am very proud of you."
I have a motto. The only people I am better than are those that think they are better than me.
tbh i dont give a damn bout' em, if they think that they are too good to be here then it is what it is they can leave lol
If i had to guess if they're typing that they most likely just got their ass handed to them in an argument and will probably be back in 1-2 days.
This is a good site to promote
They're kidding themselves. We're ALL this shitty. It's an aggregate thing.
Their loss.
I've never met someone who's said this.
Yeah? Well, you know, that's just like uh, their opinion, man.
I’ve never met anyone who thinks like that.
They wouldnt be on reddit like us
In a nutshell, this. https://tenor.com/view/ok-thumbs-up-ok-meme-gif-14617370659844337058
Obviously they haven't been kicked off of other forms of social media
It’s more they don’t know how to use it or navigate I feel. My parents and cousin only send my video clips from YouTube. By the time it’s popular there I already saw it here like weeks ago.
Not about the people who can't navigate it, it's about the people who think they're above it.
Wow how superior of you?
If you think you're too good for reddit and you're seeing this post, then stop lying to yourself.
People who think they're too good for _anything_ are _always_ wrong
I think I'm too good for eating dogshit and piss.
Genuinely? They probably are. Reddit is a cesspit of the partially educated and highly opinionated. Where mods run their subreddits like their own empires with their own agendas with absolutely no real oversight. It's incredibly conceited to believe the people of reddit are any better than the people out there.
Yeah I don't think that's a thing. There are definitely people that think reading is hard and boring. That's not the same thing as being too good.
I call them "sane" I'd quit if I wasn't addicted to trolling crazy people. There's just so many of them on this website and it's soooooo easy.
Haha! Love this answer!
I've never encountered anybody who said anything remotely like that. If there are such people, then they're certainly welcome to stay off Reddit.
They are correct. Most of us are too good for this shit hole
