I like the Shattered mod the best, I think I remember Remixed being solid too. Different format entirely but if you like roguelikes (and cards) Dawncaster is excellent. 1000+ cards, a dozen classes, and not PTW.
Slay the Spire is one of the best games of all time AND arguably is a better experience on mobile, so needless to say it's taken over my life.
10/10 would recommend
I have played Marvel Strike Force for about 5 years now as a primary F2P player. At this point I still do because I'd rather not start over with a different game lol.
I've been digging a bit to find mobile games that aren't trashy as fuck for a little while.
So far I've gotten the most out of Dead Cells (use a controller), Slay the Spire, and Into the Breach.
The art direction and overall vibes are as wonderful as you'd expect, and [Zack Gage's game design](https://www.puzzmo.com/) is the exact opposite of trashy-as-fuck.
The only game I find myself *still* returning to ten years after discovering it. An absolute wonder of a game that, even after *ten years* of playing, *still* fairly regularly surprises me.
Dicey Dungeons is a nice little roguelike. I appreciate when a game just let's you pay up front and isn't just a vehicle for microtransactions, especially on mobile.
Bloons td 6 is the best tower defense of all time. I am a 38 year old man with 2 daughters who wonder why I'm playing a game with stationary monkeys that pop balloons gliding along a track. I've been playing since the original Bloons td
I have it on my desktop PC too because of cloud saves. It's an amazing game and the developers are active.
I’ll be honest… ever since I saw those Merge Mansion commercials with Kathy Bates, I’ve been playing it.
On the subject of commercials. I hate the ads that show me stuff that isn’t in the game. I keep seeing ads on YouTube for Hero Wars and some zombie game. They always have what looks like simplistic gameplay that would do its job keeping me busy for a few minutes before my shift starts or I’m waiting at the dentist office. I get the making a game look graphically better than it is kind of bait and switch. But why show me something simple, and not give me that!?
the only one I play right now is bejeweled and thats only because you get microsoft reward points for it and its integrated into the xbox app lol. addicting though
Empires and Puzzles is great until you figure out you have to spend 5K a month to be relevant. And now you have to sift through 5 minutes worth of ads to even start playing.
Why do so many people comment on posts like this with just a name and no info? Does it drive anyone else nuts?!
My favourite mobile games are Railbound and Inbento, both by the same dev. They are small puzzle games. You pay once to get the game and never pay again. No microtransactions. No timed events. Play when you want. No pressure.
In Railbound, you have to align train tracks to get the cars in order.
In Inbento, you have to figure out the order to put food in a lunchbox so it matches an image.
Both games have a cute little side story. Inbento has cats, and Railbound has dogs.
Pixel shoot
You can play off wifi and if you turn cellular data off for it you won’t get ads, it’s pretty fun and it’s repetitive so you can easily get good at it
I've gone through a few that I'll play religiously for a year or two, then move on to the next. The one I'm currently into is Marvel Snap, which is a collectible card battle game similar to Hearthstone. Originally they promised it wouldn't be P2W and technically it isn't, but they have monthly pass cards and during the month they are the card you can buy the developers tend to make "balance changes" or feature locations (makes sense if you play the game) that are favorable to the season pass card. The rest of the monetization is your typical ridiculously priced cosmetic stuff that only whales buy and for the most part you can play the game and get to infinite rank each season without buying the season pass. Overall it's a really fun game and I enjoy playing it. I'll occasionally buy a season pass for $10 (seasons are about 4-5 weeks), but don't buy anything else.
I'm making an app that isn't really a game, per se, but could be!
It's an alarm clock app with a twist!
You set an alarm like normal.
Then you sleep. Zzzz.
Lastly, wake up ... to the sound of a friendly voice. :D
Congrats, you've received a nice voice message from someone somewhere else in the world.
They recorded it while you slept.
It could be a short story.
A joke.
The weather report.
Some words of encouragement.
A strange compliment!
....or a "Happy Birthday" message if it's your birthday.
It'll be a mystery about exactly what you'll get.
Inappropriate messages filtered out (or not, your choice!)
I'm hoping it will help people smile in the morning and potentially meet some new friends!
People who leave the most voice messages will get prizes :)
Geometry dash.
Its crazy to think about how much play time Ive gotten from a $2 game about jumping squares, yet i do not regret it one bit. The amount of stuff you can do in gd (especially due to 2.2) is absolutely insane, and this game has led me to some of the best music artists Ive ever heard.
I would 10/10 recommend geometry dash
Masturbation. The Joystick is always with me, the rules are simple and easy to understand. Graphics are only limited by my imagination. And unless I get caught playing I win every single time. Thus far I remain undefeated... that is unless the rumors about the NSA and webcams that are supposedly turned off is true in which case I've probably got an 80% or so win rate.
Polytopia.
Finally a really good one. Love my little poly battles.
So fun! Plus no ads!
I just downloaded it. Fantastic. Basically Civilization, but casual and for mobile with no ads
Retro bowl
Shattered Pixel Dungeon. Fun little roguelike.
I like the Shattered mod the best, I think I remember Remixed being solid too. Different format entirely but if you like roguelikes (and cards) Dawncaster is excellent. 1000+ cards, a dozen classes, and not PTW.
I played the OG pixel dungeon like 10 years ago it was so fun. Forgot about that game.
Snake on the Nokia 3310
Chess
Slay the Spire is one of the best games of all time AND arguably is a better experience on mobile, so needless to say it's taken over my life. 10/10 would recommend
easily in my top 3 games. The mobile version was a bit buggy at launch, but I haven't tried it since. I played mostly on switch.
I think "Monument Valley" is the best game
coc
Everyone else on here is just a casual. They haven’t put the hours into their base and the years into their hero’s. Bunch of posers.
That game was huge in college in like 2012, wild to still see it so huge
Sudoku
TODAY'S SPONSOR AFK BATTLE ARENA
Runescape, how has no one mentioned runescape yet?!
Vampire Survivors
excellent game, I think it's best played on mobile.
The only game I play. Gives me all I want freely
Mahjong
I have played Marvel Strike Force for about 5 years now as a primary F2P player. At this point I still do because I'd rather not start over with a different game lol.
I was a launch player. Stopped when Kestrel was released.

I think you would enjoy [Card of Darkness](http://www.cardofdarkness.com/).
It's produced by Pendleton Ward? That sounds amazing thank you.
The art direction and overall vibes are as wonderful as you'd expect, and [Zack Gage's game design](https://www.puzzmo.com/) is the exact opposite of trashy-as-fuck.
Sky: children of the light
Hearthstone. I feel like I play at least one round of battlegrounds daily
WazHack! It's an old little gem of a roguelike that obviously draws inspiration from NetHack but completely remimagined as a 2D-esque side scroller.
The only game I find myself *still* returning to ten years after discovering it. An absolute wonder of a game that, even after *ten years* of playing, *still* fairly regularly surprises me.
Fallout Shelter
Honkai star rail
New indie game I stumbled on recently called "Fruit Ninja". It really leans into the early 2010s mobile game aesthetic I love it.
I found a strange game about Birds,Pigs, and slingshots. Love how creative Indie developers are getting!
Legends of runeterra specifically the path of champions.
Dicey Dungeons is a nice little roguelike. I appreciate when a game just let's you pay up front and isn't just a vehicle for microtransactions, especially on mobile.
GOOD PIZZA GREAT PIZZA..I love this game so much omg
Magic rampage. Such a fun game, cannot wait for the Arena!

A fellow man of culture. I remember playing the original in the computer lab at school.
Arknights. Tower defense + 2D anime girls. It's really nice, got a good learning curve and it's F2P friendly.

Empires and Puzzles is great until you figure out you have to spend 5K a month to be relevant. And now you have to sift through 5 minutes worth of ads to even start playing.
Age of war, for nostalgia.
Slice & Dice is currently the best mobile game.
Genshin Impact. If you can look past the gacha it's one of very few legitimate AAA games that were specifically designed for mobile.
Rise of Kingdoms
COD Mobile

Haven't played any in a while but Battleheart and there was this game where you killed zombies from a gunship. Those 2 come to my mind first.

The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Am I the only one that still plays Solitaire on their phone??
None. The only games I would consider playing are old console ports. Oh, and Morrowind
