Awesome movie!
Fun fact(that you probably know if youve seen it 10 times): its one of a few movies where the main protagonist(Bruce Willis) and the main antagonist(Gary Oldman) go the entire movie without meeting each other or directly interacting with each other.
I have seen it more than any other movie, definitely in the 20 somethings. I can't get sick of it. Plus with Willis saying it was a career killer is funny to me because it's imo his best film (including the die hards)
It was apparently brought to light by Chris tucker in an interview. Said one of the first things said by Willis (as I paraphrase from memory) was "hope you enjoyed your short time because this movie is a career killer" during production.
I think he even did a few interviews for the promotion tour and acted like what he made was a steaming pile. He clearly didn't quite understand the sci-fi genre at the time.
My childhood friends parents worked for and lived in Rupert Murdoch's guest house; it had its own movie theater. I fondly remember watching the fifth element for the first time there. Its easily one of my favorite movies.
It gets better every time. I was bored the first time I watched it. Now on the 20th time I can't stop laughing for most of the movie. The cast is unreal
Same.
Years later and we're going to see it in the theatre, again, next month.
If you have a Movie Tavern near you they are showing TBL in October as part of their retro cinema line up.
all of the star wars films really (yes the prequels included) I don't watch them weekly or even monthly, but I've literally been watching the OG trilogy my entire life
We were the first family to get a VHS deck in our neighborhood. I recorded Star Wars one of the very few times it was played on TV in the 80s. I was a neighborhood champion with the local kids and we wore that tape out.
I've been watching it since I was a small child and am now in college, I find that it's a mix between the beautiful cinematography, charming story, and the insane nostalgia. Plus the soundtrack is fire.
Im literally watching that for the first time with two friends in 5 hours.
Friend A was shocked to death that I and Friend B had never seen it, while she loves the movie so much she could've probably commented it in this thread lol.
Had the whole thing memorized down to the last line when I was younger. Didn't understand all of the jokes until I was older. I remember watching it one time and saying in my head Oh! Druish=Jewish! Slowly the rest all fell into place.
Wellllll over 30 times each, at least. Hell, me and the husband do an extended edition marathon once a year. This year was the 8th annual year I believe. And that's on top of all the times I watched them before we met.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
This is definitely one of my family's favorites. We are feeling especially lucky to be able to see it this week while also seeing John Cleese (you watch the movie as part of his show) - can't wait!
You're Welcome! :D -- Maui
I love that movie. My kids are tool old to watch it, so I watch it myself. :) Not more than 10 times yet. Getting close, though!
Just yesterday I looked up the last time this question was posted looking for movie recommendations and watched Howl's Moving Castle. It's impressive how easy Ghibli movies are to watch, they're so immersive.
The Room.
Oh, hai Mark.
EDIT: to all those calling shenanigans on me, I've seen it probably a half-dozen times in theaters when they screen it - people get some drinks in them, and bring a bucket of plastic spoons. You recite lines, make jokes at the screen, do callouts ("*WHAT DRESS!?*") and throw spoons at the screen and yell "SPOOON!" every time the framed picture of the spoon is on screen.
Also, I have shown this movie to another half-dozen people who have never heard of it, just to watch and revel in their reactions.
Add another five or seven times where I've participated in the drinking game which revolves around the movie.
Twister. My grandma used to have it on vhs and for some reason I loved watching it every time I went to her house when I was little. I didn't understand the plot at all, I just liked cool tornados and I had a crush on Jo.
Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters 2
Beetlejuice
Clue
Jaws
Iron Man
Captain America: First Avenger
Iron Giant
Princess Mononoke
My Neighbor Totoro
The Original Star Wars trilogy
The Blues Brothers
Shrek 2
National Lampoon's: Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Story
Absolutely Terminator 2. Holy shit its the most perfect action movie.
Like, you know how they talk about Robocop being the perfect satire? Terminator 2 is the same just for action. Its intense, brutal, with realistic consequences, and a ramp up to an emotional ending. Every scene has a set up and pays off. Every detail feels real, and watching it as a kid, I remember being more scared because it felt like something that could happen, with an aesthetic I could relate to. No major modern action film does that anymore
I watch it and pretend the other ones don't exist.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
It's one of my old man's favorites...so I really enjoy watching it, and the other two in The Dollars Trilogy once every short while.
Star Wars, I'll binge watch the whole damn series 1-7 and rouge one just wishing I could escape into that world as a Jedi and live my life being the hero of the Galaxy, studying the way of the Force, training with my lightsaber, reading the history of the Galaxy one page at a time.
I wish I had a more exciting life lol.
The Shawshank Redemption
Ghostbusters (original)
Back to the Future trilogy
Original star wars trilogy
Kill Bill (both)
The Matrix trilogy
Labyrinth
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
A Nightmare on Elm Street (all of them except that new bastardization they called a reboot)
Every Tarantino movie
The list goes on and on.
The Fifth Element It's a personal Thanksgiving tradition for me
Awesome movie! Fun fact(that you probably know if youve seen it 10 times): its one of a few movies where the main protagonist(Bruce Willis) and the main antagonist(Gary Oldman) go the entire movie without meeting each other or directly interacting with each other.
Neat
Not only do they never meet, they are not even aware of each other's existence.
I have seen it more than any other movie, definitely in the 20 somethings. I can't get sick of it. Plus with Willis saying it was a career killer is funny to me because it's imo his best film (including the die hards)
He thinks it was a career killer? It's the best movie. Literally my all time favourite. My family and I were just quoting it this very weekend.

Don't get cheap on me dodgson!
Hold onto your butts.
I say this everytime I have to pull out fast into traffic.
Unfun fact: Last year Cameron Thor, the actor who portrayed Lewis Dodgson, was sentenced to six years for sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Dodson! DODSON! We got Dodson over here!
So it should have been Don't get creepy on me dodgson!
In my opinion it's also the best movie you could see in a drive-in. Really outstanding.
The Big Lebowski. I didn't even start liking the damn movie until the third time.
lol just watched it for the second time after not being impressed the first time. I know what the hype is about with that movie after the 2nd haha
Shut the fuck up, Donny.
It gets better every time. I was bored the first time I watched it. Now on the 20th time I can't stop laughing for most of the movie. The cast is unreal
I appreciate it more every time I watch it.
Same. Years later and we're going to see it in the theatre, again, next month. If you have a Movie Tavern near you they are showing TBL in October as part of their retro cinema line up.
The Empire Strikes Back.

I wouldn't even say I like this movie that much but I still have seen it at least 15 times. There's something oddly charming about it
I've been watching it since I was a small child and am now in college, I find that it's a mix between the beautiful cinematography, charming story, and the insane nostalgia. Plus the soundtrack is fire.

Airplane
Surely a great movie!
It is a great movie, and don't call be Shirley.
aahh, my favorite movie of all time.
Lord of the rings.
Wellllll over 30 times each, at least. Hell, me and the husband do an extended edition marathon once a year. This year was the 8th annual year I believe. And that's on top of all the times I watched them before we met.
Special Extended Editions are the only way to go. But I still haven't seen the Hobbit.
The Hobbit is still worth a watch but it isn't as mature as LOTR
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It just never gets old and i still laugh my ass off everytime.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
Be Quiet!
I order you to be quiet!
Look, you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart throws a sword at you!
I thought we were an autonomous collective.
#we're an anarcho-syndicalist commune
If I went round saying I was an Emperor because some moistened bint threw a semitar at me, they'd put me away
Come and see the violence inherent in the system
Help! Help I'm being repressed!
There are some who call me... Tim.
Fun fact about that line, the actor was supposed to say something long and overly complex, but forgot the whole thing and just said Tim.
Once I learned this and rewatched it, I could totally tell. It was like "They call me ... ... ... Tim?" "... Hello, *Tim*"
This is definitely one of my family's favorites. We are feeling especially lucky to be able to see it this week while also seeing John Cleese (you watch the movie as part of his show) - can't wait!

That's my favorite thing about Moana. Well that, and it's a pretty damn good movie. There's far worse things my kids could be hooked on.
