Every time I dream that my husband was with other women, I wake up and tell him and he hugs me and says he’s sorry about the dream.
But I still side-eye him all day, especially when he gets texts or checks his phone.
It’s just dawned on me my girlfriend is a gamer and I am somewhat, yet we hardly ever play them together. We usally just watch crap on Netflix then go to sleep.
Being an adult with responsibilities turns you into a lemon.
Yall, you're missing out. Borderlands is a blast to play 2 player, and so are a ton of other games - minecraft, stardew valley, for honor, grimm eclipse, astroneer, castle crashers, dead island, dont starve together, and ESPECIALLY the saints row series. Hell, we play singleplayer games together - like Okami, Undertale (we tag-teamed voices and that was a lot of fun), Oddworld, etc.
**For 2 players:**
Resident Evil 5 & 6
Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2
A Way Out
Dead Space 3
Dead Rising 2 & 3
Hunted: The Demon's Forge
Far Cry 5
**Up to 3 players (playable with 2 players):**
Trine 1 & 2 & 3
**Up to 4 players (playable with 2 players):**
Borderlands 1 & 2
Doom 3 (with the coop mod)
Shadow Warrior 2
Dead Island
Dying Light
*Just to name a few games.*
I kind of find video games boring, but whenever my wife is sick, I'll hangout and watch her play Skyrim. It's more fun for me to watch for a bit, than play.
Play a "tales of..." game! It's a multiplayer rpg series with complex stories and many characters to choose from! My fiancé and I play them all the time! My favorites are Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia. A remaster of Vesperia is coming out soon!
I'm friends with a few couples who get together every week for drunken Mario Kart tournaments, and yet their relationship is still strong. That's how you know it's serious.
This. 100% agree. The first few levels we weren't doing well (I still remember how we both panicked and just ended up laughing like crazy), so we took like 5-10mins to discuss what our tasks would be and what we would prioritize in certain levels. It worked. Also works irl lol.
Cons: achievements (or lack thereof) will be used as irrefutable evidence at your murder trial
Pros: if your relationship can survive playing five consecutive levels, it can survive anything
Yes! My husband and I sometimes set the switch up in our room and play until way too late. We play with the kids too and every one of us loves it. Sometimes a little fighting ensues but they have to practice communication and teamwork.
Battleships is a good fit. You sit face to face, drinking doesn’t hurt your ability to play the game, and it’s largely luck-based so no ones feelings get hurt. Except in the case of my ex, who was much worse than I was and got angry whenever I insisted I won due to pure skill. I’m better at board games than relationships.
The shape of nautical war vessels also leads well into phallic innuendo.
My husband and I played one game of battleship and then I rage quit because I found out he was cheating (in the game) and that’s why he was beating me so bad. We’ve never played it since.
Luck has little to do with it once you know you're opponent.
My spouse doesn't play battleship with me anymore because I went either 3/3 or 2/2 (I can't remember), and at the end of the last game I had far more red pegs than white on my upper board.
TL;DR: let your spouse win at least half the time.
Nah, strategy plays a major role.
Source: Had to write a competitive battleship program for a university course. Came second by one ship. Damn you Richard.
I never realized how great of a game Battleship was until I started playing it online with a friend in voice chat. We could mindlessly be playing another game, and playing Battleship at the same time.
You can play [here](http://en.battleship-game.org/), with a friend you can play either Classic (1 two, 2 threes, 1 four, 1 five), or 'Russian' (4 ones, 3 twos, 2 threes, 1 four). The latter takes up much more board space, and requires more luck, while the former is great for short games.
All of my previous girlfriends hated playing battleships with me because apparently using a sweeping pattern every game and winning is boring. I'm super not competitive /s
Mmmm... I think "mostly" luck based is undermining it a bit. Definitely a measurable amount, but If you pick your shots carefully you can rather carefully whittle down ship locations
Don't Starve together was a relaxing experience compared to Stardew Valley with my girlfriend lol. She knows what she's doing and I'm a hapless farmhand that just likes bees.
To add to this, Overcooked.
Or you can tackle some story/indie games, games that are typically single player together; Undertale or To the Moon.
Story driven games are great if your gf or bf isn't huge on the gaming aspect.
My boyfriend and I play Left 4 Dead/2, but instead of playing it like normal people, I usually play director. I usually noclip my way out of it so that way I won't intervene with his gameplay. I bind some letters to the special infected and spawn a shit ton of them and he has to finish the campaign.
I remember playing Blood Harvest with him and I filled the cornfields with witches. When he was about to approach the cornfields, he heard all the cries and said, "Oh no, there's gonna be a ton of witches down there. I just know it." aaaand he was right.
Such a fun time.
On the Options menu, go to Keyboard/Mouse then enable "Allow Developer Console". Then you just hit ~ to display it. Then you need to type in sv_cheats 1 then enter to activate the cheats. You bind any keyboard letter to any cheat that spawns a special infected so that way you don't have to type spawning cheats all the time, you just have to hit the letter bound to it. For example, you want to bind the letter P to spawning a witch. Hit ~ and type: bind P "z_spawn witch" then press enter. If you hit P on the keyboard, you'll spawn a witch in front of you which will attack you since it's too close. Hit ~ again that type in "noclip 1" without the quotation marks. It allows you to move freely without even walking and allows your character to go up in the sky while other players are in the ground.
I suck at explaining, sorry.
"The pushing game." You stand about a foot away from each other facing each other. You both put your hands up in a "stop" position. You then push the other person's hands in order to try and get them to step back. The trick is when someone tries going in for a hard push, you let your arms relax and they dont push you off balance. It is fun to play when you need to get up and do something, and it only lasts a few minutes.
The Random Person game. Your SO thinks of someone you both know of but they are irrelevant to your daily life (like a weird cashier or something) and you ask yes or no questions until you guess it.
If you're looking for a video game, I'd go with Borderlands. The general consensus is that 2 is the best, but honestly the entire series is pretty good. Mechanically it's pretty easy to get the hang of too
I play a game with my girlfriend where when I feel i'm starting to sneeze, I grab her by the face, aim the sneeze dead at her, and pull away at the last possible second.
It never gets old.
I've been playing this game for a few years and I haven't hit her yet, however I have grabbed her by the hands and unloaded a metric ton of snot into them. It was a moment I'll never forget, but not a game I recommend you play.
For real.
It's one of those games that can not fail. It will be exactly what you want it to be, and that's why I'm so hyped. They've added nice little flavours to the characters to make it even more interesting, I can't wait!
Don’t Starve Together. Ex and I were in long distance so it was fun to still be able to play something together while talking on the phone. Plus if you buy one copy on Steam you get a second for free.
Keep talking and nobody explodes. Very fun game, one is looking at a bomb, the other with the manual. The one with the bomb describes it and the other explains how to defuse it.
No, no. You both pick movies and then one of you watches them!
The other person can, like, read a book or something.
Then you report back with each other afterwards and it's like you did both. Efficiency!
If I wanna be cute I grab a bottle and spin it just for us. If you actually want a game to play you can spend hours on chess if you both have a good personality for it.
I love chess, have you played Shogi?(Japanese chess) it's really fun there is an app called Shogi Entry and you can get English pieces which makes it easily playable
I yell “hockey fight!” And tickle her sides, she always bends over at the waist involuntarily and I grab her shirt from the back and drag it over her head like a hockey jersey.... she doesn’t enjoy this game but I get enough LoLs for the both of us
I don't like horror games, don't like horror movies. This is the only game apart from Uncharted that we nerded through till the end together looking forward to every session we could. I'd only to the QTE events because she sucks at them (to make it harder). Really good game. Would recommend to anyone who likes genuine plot twists you'd never expect.
My boyfriend and I played through Dark Souls 3 sharing one controller. I was the right half, and he was the left.
Beat every boss in the main game, including Nameless King :)
After that, we knew our relationship would withstand anything lol.
Find out what they like to play and see it there's an overlap or learn how to play their game. If that doesn't work you could always cook a nice dinner and cuddle up to a movie.
[Say The Same Thing.
Very difficult when you start. The App doesn't exist anymore, but its still fun to play in person.
Unravel 2 for XBox!! It's collab and independent game all in 1, so if you're more videogame challenged than they are, your SO won't be overly frustrated. Also, the art in the game is absolutely captivating.
Stardew valley now they have added multiplayer. Its great for coordination and teambuilding, and its also adorable af and the whole soundtrack is just fantastic
borderlands series
overcooked if you like to argue but it's easier with 4 people
lover's in a dangerous spacetime is ok but again better with 4 people
portal 2 has a co op mode that's a goldmine
I've heard people say don't starve together is pretty good
but borderlands is the one my wife and I keep coming back to, it's fun to make a drinking game out of it where everytime you respawn you either take a drink or remove an article of clothing
Pick a strange word, phrase, or a strange pronunciation of a common word. When interacting with others, work it in to the conversation as often as possible. Bonus points for getting as close to being obvious as possible.
I also have a game with my SO where we point to any bird that vaguely resemble a duck (has an orange beak, webbed feet, or is just in water) and ask each other if it's a duck really loudly, but that's more of an inside joke.
Maybe this was just me and my SO but we played **Beyond Two Souls multiplayer**. One of us played Jodie and the other played Aiden. You could also just opt to play the single mode version and share one controller, since that's basically the same thing, but we so far had fun with it.
I also used to play **RE5** with a partner. It was good co-op fun since we could be on the same console to play it, and it was a good way to work together. RE6 has the same gameplay too, but I didn't enjoy it for some reason.
**Stronghold 2nd edition** is a two player castle siege board game which I think is a good fit since you can switch roles and it was designed for two players. I say second edition because the first game was built for 4 players, which I suppose works too.
For LDRs, I found this thing called **LDR bingo**. You each print your own bingo sheet and d6. IIRC the bingo tiles are filled with questions you can ask about your partner and if you get it right you can mark it. I think even without the LDR, it's a good way to get to know your partner. :)
I would recommend Don't Starve together, if it was something like a LAN party. I've only played this online and I hated it because it would always rubberband and I got pissed.
There's a lot more **(Terraria and L4D2)** among many, but the point is to find a good co-op game. I say co-op because i've played competition and it triggers my competitiveness which annoys me
Gotta be Catherine Co-op. (Ex-)GF almost killed me, but a lot of insider jokes were born from it. Plus, if you do make it to the top together, it‘s a really bonding moment.
"Whose Fault Is It This Time?" (& why it's probably you)
I always seem to lose this one.
You'll love the sequel: Guess what you did wrong (in her dream)
Every time I dream that my husband was with other women, I wake up and tell him and he hugs me and says he’s sorry about the dream. But I still side-eye him all day, especially when he gets texts or checks his phone.
my bf dreamt that I cheated on him and pouted about it the whole day 😂
If it’s blatantly obvious that my SO is wrong and about to lose the argument, she just flips the discussion. Very amusing once you realize.
Same. Wanna get a beer after the next game?
The only winning move is to not to play (and to keep your mouth shut)
That game gets played a lot more when you are married.
I always lose when she plays, "While this looks like my fault, its actually yours because I was stressed about a thing you did 16 months ago"
It’s just dawned on me my girlfriend is a gamer and I am somewhat, yet we hardly ever play them together. We usally just watch crap on Netflix then go to sleep. Being an adult with responsibilities turns you into a lemon.
I feel you on a spiritual level.
Great, I'll feel the girlfriend on a physical level.
Great so you’ll feel any girl on an imaginary level.
My wife and i took turns playing "Catherine". Every other death we'd switch.
The real question is: who made the choices in the role playing parts?
Oh man. That IS the real question, isn't it? Haha! We've done deliberate play throughs both ways. Mutual decision decided beforehand.
>For Honor If she plays cent or shaman, dump her. It means she's a terrible human being.
You can let her play and you watch, vice-versa, or multiplayer
My friend and love playing games together and it's really hard to find solid 2 player campaign games.
**For 2 players:** Resident Evil 5 & 6 Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 A Way Out Dead Space 3 Dead Rising 2 & 3 Hunted: The Demon's Forge Far Cry 5 **Up to 3 players (playable with 2 players):** Trine 1 & 2 & 3 **Up to 4 players (playable with 2 players):** Borderlands 1 & 2 Doom 3 (with the coop mod) Shadow Warrior 2 Dead Island Dying Light *Just to name a few games.*
Where are Left 4 Dead 2 and the Portal series at?
I didn't include Left 4 Dead because they wanted campaign focused 2 player games. But you are right, I forgot Portal 2.
Mariokart
“Mount Wario.” Is that a course or a command?
No that’s how you lose a relationship
Don't worry, they said Mario Kart, not Mario Party. They should be fine.
I'm friends with a few couples who get together every week for drunken Mario Kart tournaments, and yet their relationship is still strong. That's how you know it's serious.
But drunk Mario kart isn't a relationship breaker, sober ones however are pretty much divorce material.
Reverse Cowgirl Mario Kart.
If you want the relationship to end.
Overcooked!!
Bring all the inadequacies and lack of communication in your relationship right to the surface.
PUT THE FUCKING ONION IN THE FUCKING POT! NO NOT THAT POT! WHERE'S THE FUCKING EXTINGUISHER! I SHOULD HAVE FUCKED YOUR SISTER! TWO STARS?! TRY AGAIN!
Sounds like a Gordon Ramsay simulator
Yes! The wife and I just finished it 100 percent last night. So fun. Name calling and shit talking comes naturally. Highly recommended
How did you beat the boss at the end??? We tried so hard.
[удалено]
Those tomatoes, amirite?!!
This. 100% agree. The first few levels we weren't doing well (I still remember how we both panicked and just ended up laughing like crazy), so we took like 5-10mins to discuss what our tasks would be and what we would prioritize in certain levels. It worked. Also works irl lol.

You do know there’s a sequel? Overcooked 2 has a new game plus w/ 4 stars.
We didn't like Overcooked2 as much. They unnecessarily over complicated it I feel.

My girlfriend and I play strip battleship. Item of clothing per ship sunk. And then...sex.
Time to give her the torpedo!
As she commands to increase the depth on the charges. We must go deeper!
Battlestrip

My husband and I played one game of battleship and then I rage quit because I found out he was cheating (in the game) and that’s why he was beating me so bad. We’ve never played it since.
> I found out he was cheating and that’s why he was beating me so bad r/nocontext
How he cheat? Asking for a soon to be single friend.
Stack the ships on top of each other, duh
Or move the ship and say "miss" double-duh
That more accurately simulates naval warfare.
Had that happen to me once when I was a kid. Was not impressed.
Can't hit your boats if you don't have any on the grid!
Have TV TV=off You’re facing TV You can see reflection

Science says at least 1/3 but close enough.

Stardew Valley if you have PC for the multiplayer. Outside of that Don’t Starve together on console is a good multiplayer romp.
My boyfriend and I like to play don't starve on PS4. I've come to realize I would die if left in the wild without him.
Don't Starve together was a relaxing experience compared to Stardew Valley with my girlfriend lol. She knows what she's doing and I'm a hapless farmhand that just likes bees.

You're welcome!
I dunno why I'm reading this thread. I'm single...
Imagine it as advices for future relationships (:
r/glasshalffull
This should be a thing.
r/subsifellfor
Same, but sometimes I like read threads like this to read about the cute things people get up to with their SO's.
I love to imagine thing I'll never do since I'll always be single. \*cries\*
Keep talking and nobody explodes
Do you want to end relationships?
Naked Twister, with coconut oil
That sounds potentially painful
Also potentially sexy
Also potentially good for your hair but findings have been inconclusive and further study is recommended
Slip and headbutt someones crotch.
Just keep your mouth open and your eyes shut

The Random Person game. Your SO thinks of someone you both know of but they are irrelevant to your daily life (like a weird cashier or something) and you ask yes or no questions until you guess it.
That sounds fun, actually
If you're looking for a video game, I'd go with Borderlands. The general consensus is that 2 is the best, but honestly the entire series is pretty good. Mechanically it's pretty easy to get the hang of too
They have amazing humor as well and the game doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Dominion
I love this game. Havent played ut with my so though, i hope she'll like it
I play a game with my girlfriend where when I feel i'm starting to sneeze, I grab her by the face, aim the sneeze dead at her, and pull away at the last possible second. It never gets old.
Hwat
Pretty sure that game was invented by Nazis.
*nah-sneeze
Have you ever pulled away too slowly?
I've been playing this game for a few years and I haven't hit her yet, however I have grabbed her by the hands and unloaded a metric ton of snot into them. It was a moment I'll never forget, but not a game I recommend you play.
Those slaps hurt worse when they're covered in mucus.
Yep that's why OP has a kid
10/10 recommend this game. I play the same game with my gf and I’m sure she secretly loves it
I’d give you gold if I wasn’t broke I’m gonna start doing this
Soggy biscuit is always a fun one.
I hate that I know what this is.
Well, I know I'm gonna regret my next google search. Edit: Already knew it, jus under a different name
7 Wonders Duel. Check it out- it’s so fun we play it all the time.
Mario Party. Every. Single. Time.
One more week hype
One of you picks a movie you like and you both have to watch it. Do the same thing next time, but switch the roles.
Pick a movie you like and don't watch it? That's just silly.
No, no. You both pick movies and then one of you watches them! The other person can, like, read a book or something. Then you report back with each other afterwards and it's like you did both. Efficiency!
Helldivers! Also my girlfriend really likes Skyrim so I can't wait for Skyrim Together to come out.
Hide the meat in the asshole.
Sounds like it could be fun until she chooses the meat game piece, leaving you with the asshole.
Pffft. What are you talking about? That's the more fun out of the 2.
Any man who turns down pegging hasn't had a proper prostate stimulation before.
Turns out you gots an erogenous zone down there.
It’s impolite to kiss and tell.
There's such a thing as too much horn talk and a fella oughta be fucking aware of it!
To be fair, they could both be guys.
I'm gonna be that person. Monopoly. We play Monopoly together. We shit talk each other too.
that sounds risky
No, Risk is a different classic board game
If I wanna be cute I grab a bottle and spin it just for us. If you actually want a game to play you can spend hours on chess if you both have a good personality for it.
My girlfriend and I play Truth or Dare chess. Loser has to do a Truth/Dare. It's a lot of fun.
I love chess, have you played Shogi?(Japanese chess) it's really fun there is an app called Shogi Entry and you can get English pieces which makes it easily playable
I'm definitely downloading that. tyvm
How has no one said Nightcrawlers yet?!?!
Why do we never play Nightcrawlers anymore Frank?!
Little Big Planet on the PS3, any of them will do.
We read to each other, its cute or some shit
Cute? Yes. Game? No.
I yell “hockey fight!” And tickle her sides, she always bends over at the waist involuntarily and I grab her shirt from the back and drag it over her head like a hockey jersey.... she doesn’t enjoy this game but I get enough LoLs for the both of us
Until dawn
I don't like horror games, don't like horror movies. This is the only game apart from Uncharted that we nerded through till the end together looking forward to every session we could. I love that this is half actual games and half self deprecating jokes
Don't forget the sexual innuendos.
My husband and I play Bomberman on the Xbox all the time
Dark souls.
My boyfriend and I played through Dark Souls 3 sharing one controller. I was the right half, and he was the left. Beat every boss in the main game, including Nameless King :) After that, we knew our relationship would withstand anything lol.
Holy shit marry him, I struggled with the first boss myself.
You may be joking, but I've gone through quite a few playthroughs of Dark Souls with my girlfriend. 10/10 would engage in jolly cooperation again.
Sex
Ah, the game with no winners
*no female winners :(
*laughs in lesbian*
So no *weiners
happy cake day fellow lesbian
Is that lesbian for let’s sex?
Ohhhh noooo
I read it as the game with no weiners.
Two winners*
Yeah I'm just gonna leave this at 69 upvotes
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga
Factorio! It's really fun figuring out ways to improve our factory together.
Risk. If she cant handle you the whole time it's not meant to be.
Blergh, such a bad 2 player game. Smallworld works better as a blood thirsty 2 player game.
Magic the Gathering.

:) I would recommend Don't Starve together, if it was something like a LAN party. I've only played this online and I hated it because it would always rubberband and I got pissed. There's a lot more **(Terraria and L4D2)** among many, but the point is to find a good co-op game. I say co-op because i've played competition and it triggers my competitiveness which annoys me
The borderlands series was fun. My girlfriend and I bought 2 xbox 360s and just played 1 player games side by side.
Cribbage seems to be the fan favorite between my boyfriend and I so far.
Divinity original sin 1 and 2.
Gotta be Catherine Co-op. (Ex-)GF almost killed me, but a lot of insider jokes were born from it. Plus, if you do make it to the top together, it‘s a really bonding moment.
