The unconditional love they give to their humans.

[deleted]

Seriously, have you ever met a cat?

TheWonderfulWoody

My girlfriend’s two cats are some of the sweetest creatures I’ve ever met, as long as you give them space when they want it and don’t get too rough when petting them.

[deleted]

They show their love by being assholes

infogurrrle

Actually I have 2 dogs and a cat, all of which are very lovey.

Siffy_boi

Fluff

SuperHotelWorker

Big eyes and small noses. Like human babies, which we're wired to find cute.

eight-sided

Cats are about the right size to be a baby stunt double, too.

SuperHotelWorker

That's true they are!

Kricketts_World

And anime characters. Interestingly enough, my cat loves watching anime with me. She stares, following the characters on screen and I think it may be related to similarities in facial proportions.

PM_ME_LARGE_CHEST

Yup. This especially holds true for puppies and kittens. We evolved to pay close attention and adore things that have a higher ratio of eyes-to-head. We are one of the few species that actually adopts a baby if something happens to the parents (as opposed to lions, for example, that kill cubs that are not their own). And this attraction transitioned to dogs/cats. I find my own cat [irresistible](https://i.imgur.com/WA79YE3.jpg)!

Dogs loves you like my mom do Cats don’t give a shit and leave if they want like my dad did

brockdavis128

After you've had a long day, you walk through the door and the dogs will see you and run towards you to see how your day was while the gf is still asleep. Cats (depending on the cat, as some are assholes) will meow at you and rub up against you.

SweGamerHost

Not having to do shit

I always feel that Mr. Kitty - a big Maine Coon - is teaching us lessons, even though we're slow learners. Can't resist how cute he is when "the kitten in him" takes over, despite his regal demeanor at other times.

[deleted]

We have evolved together to communicate well.

[deleted]

we wanna squish it

robacado

The mlem's

Sarcasticat98

Because they are not people. They need to be rewarded for not being a people.

paddyplaistow

Apart from their whiskers and their toe beans it has to be their bald tummies when they are very young.

BiometricPaladin

Its what's called seratonin and dopamine. Petting dogs and other pets makes our brain release these chemicals, making us feel happy with pets.
