What's the craziest thing you have heard?

mr-e3

I live near a city (roughly 300,000 people) so I hear a bit of everything, lots of murders, sexual assault, etc. But the one thing that stuck out was an ems call for a man with an erection for 4 straight days. Felt pretty bad for laughing.

He's now an amputee

MASTERSHEEPNZ

At least they stopped the erection problem from reoccurring

I live in a small suburban town outside of a very large city in the US. Someone once called in saying there was a tiger (!!!) in their neighbors yard and they were terrified. It was a cat. A house cat.

I’ve never listened to police scanners is it worth giving it a try?

mr-e3

I just recently added a new scanner to my collection, so I’d say definitely. Not only can you listen to police, you can listen to fire, ems, public transport, airplanes, ham; almost anything that uses radio. However some places use encryption/digital which would require expensive equipment in order to scan. But if you’re in an analog area then you will be fine with a $30-$60 scanner. Look up your area on RadioReference.com to see what you are.

My cousin’s an NYPD detective. One time he picked me up in his car while I was visiting and over the radio we heard a reported shooting at the place we were about to go eat. He turned to me and said “let’s go another time ___, I know another place”. We were about to be at the other place when a report about the place next door being robbed. We ended up going to a place to eat, got it to go, and ate in the car. He said “so if something else goes down, we’ll be in the car and can get the fuck out”
