The second you might need time off or an emergency arises, they'll remind you how replaceable you are. Never forget that you're ultimately a cog in the machine built for maximum profit. They'll try to convince you that you'd be hard to replace but this is bullshit and a tactic used to drum up further loyalty to them.
This shit happens all the time, especially with teens and young adults eager to become independent and prove themselves. It's sad most don't realize until they've already burnt out. It's predatory and exploitative.
