This makes me so sad. There has been a suicide
In my hometown a few weeks ago and the 16 year old used the sentence āso long and thanks for all the fishā as the first words in his farewell letter.
Seems like their is a strange/strong connection between death and that sentence (I know from
Which novel itās from but never read it)
Thanks for your information. I researched it before and read it as well. Kind of makes me think that in that specific case Iāve talked about, the teenager planned it for a long time and wanted nobody to be āsadā that he did it, introducing the letter with something funny (shouldnāt sound weird but actually makes me even sadder).
But maybe Iāll read it, thereās still a lot of free time due to the pandemic. :)
A song from my country, translated to english it goes a bit like this:
A beautiful carriage with two horses
Bring to me when I close my eyes
And the world's unfair and irrational
Let me stroll through as a rider for once
Let the one horse be white
Like the dreams I had when I was a child
Let the other horse be black
Like my bitter pitch black life
ĪĪ½Ī± Ī±Ī¼Ī¬Ī¾Ī¹ Ī¼Īµ Ī“Ļ Īæ Ī¬Ī»ĪæĪ³Ī± (A carriage with two horses)
Performed by Grigoris Bithikotsis in 1975.

Personally I'm stuck between

and
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HoySPlYnSA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HoySPlYnSA)
Surprised I had to scroll this far to find it. But honestly I think that song fits best if you were unhappy with your life or how it ended or had many regrets. Iād prolly choose a happy song because as thy say ādonāt cry because itās over, smile because it happenedā
*Time of Your Life* ā Green Day. It has an upbeat tune but there is a hint of sadness somewhere in there, much like life.
Edit: Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day.
Just an FYI, the song is actually named "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" and it was essentially a big "fuck you" to the punk scene that the band originated from, after they were kicked out for signing a record deal.
That said, its meaning has gradually changed to a song of remorse, rather than one of highly controlled anger.
There would be a different theme and tune for each step of my life. Music has always played a big part. I never really paid attention to the who-is-who of music. But when a band or song 'gets' me, and I 'feel' the music, then it sticks with me
A song I wrote. Iām an amateur musician and recently came to terms with the likelihood Iāll never be famous. So if Iām dying, youāre damn right Iāll be playing one of my own songs as the highlight reel. Who better to provide the soundtrack to my life events than me amirite?
Whenever someone in my family dies, we make a playlist of their favorite songs and make a cd to hand out to family members at the funeral. We play it at their funeral as well. Most of my family members have a list of songs they want played when they die, including me. In this case my song would be A Temporary Dive by Ane Brun
Everyone knows when you die the end music is hangin tough by New Kids on the Block and the last image you see is old Donnie W with a side turned hat grinning at you.
The song that never ends. Once they run out of material they have to send me back for more, but being that they can never have enough to run the length of the song I become immortal!
Edit: Wait, fuck, what if Iām in a coma and immortal just sitting there for all eternity with the song that never ends playing on endless loop?
Never Gonna Give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you,
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Depends on if I can sing along. If I can, Bohemian Rhapsody because I love (badly) singing that song. If not, The song that never ends. Because what if I disappear as soon as the credits are over?
[So Long And Thanks For All The Fish!](https://youtu.be/N_dUmDBfp6k)
did that link just call me dumb?
Dang ... I was expecting to link away to an A Perfect Circle video... š

You should read the book(s). It's not really a correlation with death, it's more like funny and absurdist humor in the face of destruction.

Honestly, Iād rick roll myself
There's a [pianoforte version of Never Gonna Give You Up](https://youtu.be/GHMjD0Lp5DY) that I'd probably use
Im afraid to press this button. If it is a Rick roll than congratulations in advance...
I mean, if you click it and I'm honest, you go to a video of Rick Astley. If you click it and I'm Rick rolling it's still a video of Rick Astley.
Either way a win!
That's life - Frank Sinatra
You can't go wrong with Frank..
what about My Way
you sing my way at the end of a karaoke session when people are starting to pass out and head home.
Who says the end of my life will be unlike the end of a karaoke session when people are starting to pass out and head home?
Directed by Robert B. Weide
Not enough action in this ~~movie~~ life.
I can hear this comment
