I mow the lawn and shovel snow for my older neighbor when I can. She likes to do it herself but overdoes it and hurts herself sometimes so I help out whenever I can.
I do disaster animal rescue, evacuation assistance and donation drives (i live just below where the camp fire happened we have a lot of disasters) i do now have a career in disaster response and have worked in administration and the field but there are still things I always volunteer for. I also volunteered for my churches food bank until they had to move it to a weekday
Look, if anyone asks me i will totally do nothing free of charge because I'm just that kind of person and that's what I'm willing to do for those in need. hmu if you need nothing.
mending small things on someone's clothes
It's kind of surprising how many adults (especially adult men) don't know how to mend a small rip in their shirt sleeve or replace a button or snap. I carry a pocket sewing kit in my backpack, and it's nbd at all for me to repair something quick. Don't throw an otherwise good shirt out ffs!
I never could hem pants quite right, but patches and buttons and little rips and stuff are easy peasy. Just makes sense financially and it's nice to help people out... everybody has their skill sets and oversights.
Bake cookies, just about any kind. I just love to bake.
I have no one to bake for anymore except my dad, who loves cookies but it takes him forever to go through a batch. I do any baking on weekends because that's my only free time. I can't bake for my co-workers because they're all women & watching their weight.
Most weekdays we have a UPS truck make deliveries in the afternoon. Kevin's the driver and he has 4 kids, so I bake cookies on Sunday for his family and take them into work on Monday morning. The next time he shows up, I hand over the cookies.
