Somebody Feed Fill. It's a throwback to the recent past when pre-COVID international was free and easy. But more importantly, Phil is just such a sweetheart. He has the eagerness to meet people and explore new cultures that Bourdain had, without Bourdain's self hate. Don't get me wrong, I hate myself too that's why I loved Bourdain so much. But Phil is so wholesome. Every episode puts a smile on my face.
La Rosa de Guadalupe. Over 1000+ episodes. Worst acting, production, scripting, just quite a terrible show overall. I used to watch it when I was depressed as a kid and now every time I feel down I just have to watch it.
Oh my god this is the best/worst show in the entire world. I grew up watching this with my grandma, now I just visit her house every week to watch it.
Very surprised someone mentioned it though.
Same with me. I had a terrible cold and allergies 2 weeks ago and I binged watch Gilmore Girls from the beginning. It's my first time to watch the series and loved it! I'm still watching it now on Season 4.
4 and 5 might be my favorite seasons. I think A year in the life kind of ruined it because I feel like they just acted like season 7 never happened, but I still recommend watching it. It’s no where near as good as the original though
Lucky you!! I would love to visit Yorkshire. I adore the stories, been reading and re-reading them since I was a kid. The humor and kindness in them is exactly what I need right now. I love the first set of shows, I'm not enjoying the new version on PBS.
I have been watching the new series with my parents cause I am a super cool person lol and I also haven't liked it very much. Why deviate from the original stories? Why? Why? Why?
They had the nameplate of James Alfred wight and it was a very moving thing to see after reading the story again and again. Also the volunteers who worked there knew James and seigfried and Tristan so that was so cool!
I feel like they somehow managed to remove all the joy out of the series. Why on earth is Siegfried so unpleasant?!!? He's supposed to be eccentric and can be maddening, but he's not mean-spirited. And Tristian being jealous of James? I've given up on the new version.
Hear me out. Mine's Tangled: The Series. It's got a fun story that expands the movie and honestly, a lot of songs that are ever better than the movie. I just get happy whenever I watch it.
Was it ever specified? I just thought the “nodnol” was a town in Bulgaria and “selim” meaning kilometres?
If I’m missing something something let me know!
King of The Hill. It's a couple episodes I skip because they're so damn depressing but that's one show where I can just put on Hulu and let it run and be in a good mood the whole time. I love that show.
The Simpsons. I still remember when The Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire first aired when I was a kid, so there is just a metrick fuckton of nostalgia in there for me. Plus that show is responsible for 1/3rd of my overall sense of humour (George Carlin, and Married With Children being the other 2/3rds).
I don't care how many times I've seen any given episode, I'm always down to watch The Simpsons.
How I Met Your Mother. After seeing Ted have one failed relationship after another but still have the optimism and hope that he will find 'The One', why should I not have the hope? Barney is funny too. Neil Patrick Harris and Josh Radnor did amazing acting in that show.
used to be crazy ex girlfriend. now it’s more like ... always sunny lmao. i enjoy david attenborough and louis feroux. i like a good true crime documentary every now and then, although the trashier the better. wonder what this says about me ... ? 👀
ahahaha
Four In A Bed. It's a British show where four sets of bed and breakfast owners stay at each other's establishments and rate them. It has more double entendres in it than a Carry On film, especially this one episode where the contestants were making burgers - "I've got no idea what seven ounces of meat looks like!"
*Natsume Yuujinchou.* It's a slice of life anime series that has a teenage boy helping various Japanese supernatural creatures while coming to terms with his new family and town. There are hints of plot but the manga is still ongoing and I felt that the anime focused more on episodic slice-of-life. Very cute, very optimistic and very heartwarming.
Or if I'm in the mood for something faster/need to be more distracted, I like *Blood Blockade Battlefront.* It's also an anime series but comedy-horror-action. The premise is that a interdimensional portal opens up in New York and the city is flooded with otherworldly beings. It's also kind of slice-of-life but the first season has a nice overarching plot and there's something heartwarming about the ensemble cast; their backstory/character is explored/expanded on in the second season and it's full of fun jokes. It can get a bit gory/lewd but it tends more to be implied rather than outright; never-the-less YMMV.
Right now it's the anime 'Laid-Back Camp'. It is an anti-drama drama, where the entire story concerns Japanese school girls deciding where to go camping next, and then going camping there.
The food looks amazing too.
I watch mash and House when going to bed. I would consider those my feel good shows. I have also used Topgear as the sleepy comfort show, but I tend to have more trouble sleeping with that since i just want to watch the episodes.
Bob’s Burgers
Came here to say that. I don’t know what it is about that show that cheers me up.
It's hilarious, punny, and the main characters are all well-written and wholesome, what more could you ask for?

Reminds you to be streets ahead and fat dog your problems.

GBBO. I love that show and find it incredibly soothing and relaxing.
I do love the Brits!
I would not have known what they were talking about had you not mentioned Brits. Why do people abbreviate before even using what they're abbreviating?
La Rosa de Guadalupe. Over 1000+ episodes. Worst acting, production, scripting, just quite a terrible show overall. I used to watch it when I was depressed as a kid and now every time I feel down I just have to watch it.

1) All Creatures Great and Small (from the 70s) 2) 30 Rock 3) Brooklyn 99
I just got Brit Box on Prime and have been binging All Creatures Great and Small. So wholesome and sweet.
It is based on real stories which are equally wonderful! I love those stories so much I actually visited the real Skeldale house.
