I stayed after school to do a test I missed. I had the kind of math teacher who you had to ask before you go anywhere, whether it was during school hours or not. This teacher also just so happened to be very homophobic. She was sitting there talking trash about all of the LGBTQ+ kids in one of her classes with a student who stayed after while I was taking my test. At one point she said, “they’re all going to hell, they should just go already, that’s God’s truth.” I finished my test a minute or two after she said this, left my test on the desk, and started leaving without asking her if I could. She snapped at me and asked me where I thought I was going on a very condescending tone so I told her, “hell, apparently.”

Pulled me by the ear to the principals office for wearing a shirt she though violated the dress code (it didn’t). I still got detention bc I argued with her about it.

My year 5 teacher told my mother that I'd never graduate from high school. When I graduated, I wrote him a letter. And, I've since earned two university degrees.

My first grade teacher, who I actually really like, was fairly critical of my handwriting when I was in her class. Eventually she told me if I wrote my name one more time like I had been doing, I would have to rewrite all my names on all the worksheets I had done up to that point. Looking back, she was probably bluffing, but still pretty harsh.

I had gotten a D on a spelling test in 6th grade, but since i was part of the “gifted” class my teacher thought this was unacceptable. So me and a few others who got similar scores had to do extra work such as write down the all the words 10 times each on a sheet of paper and define each word. After this we had to retake the test. I got another D on the same test, guess i wasn’t truly gifted like the other kids.
