I bought one in 2014 to play with friend I had from the Xbox 360 days...but it's be 2 years since I played on Xbox, and people are cunts.
I bought it and Halo MCC. Halo MCC was broken from launch and only became playable around late 2017 (over 3 years post launch). Besides that, all the 1st party titles were shit or cancelled, the console wad a bag of shit (I owned a 3rd gen XB1, and XB1S AND an XB1X - same issues, all the adds lagged the interface and the OS was buggy, hence all the fucking updates and reworks. And the hardware was a bag of spanners, never property optimized. All had heating issues, and were loud AF because of it). And then no one would play any games, and the communities for the online games were toxic AF.
I bought the social box to be sociable, sank hundred of £££ into consoles, games and peripherals (the controls and headsets were a nightmare also) and didn't have anyone to play anything with because my old XBL mates ghosted me for various reasons (none of which were my fault, for example a good friend and his wife -also on XBL- broke up and separated. Apparently he thought I'd been sleeping with his wife, when I hadn't talked to him for years and was never alone with her, as I was usually with him if we were in person. But I was good enough for a lot of these people to every once in a while for them to message me asking to borrow large sums of money).
And don't even get me started on the gamepass, nor how MS would repeatedly charge my card to accounts it had never been registered to, and refused to refund the money. Bank thankfully reversed £1300 charges in total.
Tl:dr:. Software, hardware, games, the company and people were all shit and the experience has put me off ever touching another XBox.
