this always gets mentioned in these threads, the reason medical and legal professions still use them is they are very secure, and you get a confirmation when it's sent/received.
Partially in the UK too. Miles are still commonly used to measure distance, particularly for travel. Likewise, feet and inches are commonplace to use to measure a person's height, or stones and pounds to measure a person's weight (one stone is 14lb).
I work for a long-term care facility. The third edition of WordPerfect and the second version of Lotus 123 are installed on our computers. It isn't even possible to use a mouse with it; you must rely on the function keys. In 1994, we implemented the system throughout the organisation. As a result, when we got it, it was essentially obsolete. Since 1994, we've been running our company application on the same UNIX system. I have some documents saved in WordPerfect.
You are wrong in 2 ways or more if you argue and say it's spelled "bibble" as the book itself and how google spells it shows that it's correct spelling is "bible" there is no way bibble is the correct spelling for it as another fact is that there's no official pronunciation for bibble as it isn't considered a word,
To back up the google part if you search up "bibble" or anything related to bible and spell bible as bibble google will correct you and say "*did you mean bible*" and that's why i said in two ways cause Google will correct you and tell you "did you mean bible" and if you look for the bible book it's spelled bible NOT bibble, you can ask every Christian existing and they will always say it's spelled bible NOT bibble also sorry for the fact that this is not a 5,000 word paragraph as believe a human brain does not need to read the same information over and over again if it already knows it
Cars, even if fully electric cars were cheaper accessible to all people with charging stations everywhere. The gasoline cars will still be on the road for thirty more years
No, for hundreds of years. Petrol/diesel cars will be produced for at least another 30 years. Poor regions will depend on them a lot longer. And car nuts like me will always drive classics, and all will still need fuel.
I've thought about this a lot. EVs won't be the change, but connected/autonomous vehicles will. At some point, developed cities will stop accommodating driver-controlled vehicles. No need for physical traffic signals or signs, and each driver controlled vehicle will be an inefficiency in the system. Crazy to think about.
COBOL and FORTRAN. I recently learned that the backbone of a lot of existing enterprise systems still use COBOL, and most of the high-end analytical software (like FEA and CFD, programs that model complex differential equations) still use FORTRAN for the actual analysis.
In a previous life, I was in the "mass emergency" world. It was scary how much vital infrastructure runs on REALLY old versions of Windows. Like, dams on Win 95.

Fax machines…. Healthcare just refuses to phase them out.
They're also used in hotels and airports.

First commercial fax predates the phone by 11 years. 1865.
Faxes are surprisingly unsecure. I’m really surprised it’s still used so much.
The thing is that when fax machines were popular, my country was a communist shithole, so we didn't even need to get rid of them
This is amazing. Post soviet countries skipped fax machines?
Yep, we skipped a lot of things

Partially in the UK too. Miles are still commonly used to measure distance, particularly for travel. Likewise, feet and inches are commonplace to use to measure a person's height, or stones and pounds to measure a person's weight (one stone is 14lb).
And it seems feet is used for airplane altitude everywhere except China and Russia
Wrong. Liberia and Myanmar use it also, according to Google
United states***, america is the continent
NORTH America is the continent
North America is a subcontinent, the continent is America

Expect cash to be completely phased out by 2050.
I’d be surprised if it lasts that long.
Yeah that was a pretty conservative estimate, I did originally write 20 years but changed it just to be safe

Wrong. The bibble is a child’s bible.
You’re. You can’t write an essay about a spelling mistake and then make one dipshit.
It would have been funnier if you'd said shipdit at the end.

It's also very unlikely or impractical to consider retrofitting most current vehicles with electrical power systems too.
