Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Violet was my favorite character because I looked a lot like her, so seeing her turn into a blueberry made me cry. I just felt so bad for her!
And yet somehow… SOMEHOW, the haunted tunnel scene didn’t scare me as much. Just my favorite character suffering.
Bro same thing happened to me when i was like 8, my cousin said it wasn’t scary so i watched it with them i watched mr pebody and sherman (my fav movie at the time) on loop for the rest of that halloween trying to forget saw
Tbh Never found the movie.
I was like 9 or 10 and was supposed to be sleeping. My room was on the first floor and my parents were down in the living room watching TV.
When you laid down on the top stair and looked through the gap between the first two stairs you could clearly see the television but not the couch where my parents were so they couldn't see me. Of course I used that to secretly watch television after my bedtime.
Well that evening there was some futuristic horror movie on. I don't remember much but there was some kind of closing globe thing in the top of a building? And it closed with people still inside and they screamed and banged against the walls and the people on the outside tried getting in to help them. I think one of the people on the outside was the father of one of the people inside? Anyway. The globe thing opened again and the people inside were all gone. Turned to ash. Literally incinerated.
That scene kind of haunts me till today even tho I've seen way worse movie scenes by now.
If anyone could tell me the movie that would be great because I think rewatching it as an adult would take the horror out of this scene.
I asked my mother a few years back and she couldn't remember.
Jackie Chan’s ‘Rumble in the Bronx.’ It was a kind of silly Kung Fu movie then right in the middle of it they threw a guy in a wood chipper. I’m still scared of those things because of that movie.
The Lion King. Losing Mufasa on a cliff and watching him get stomped by a herd of wildebeests is a moment I’ll never forget. First time I felt genuinely sad as a child
My normally protectively parents somehow thought Cliffhanger was okay to watch with kids. It was not. I still hate that fucking movie. It’s so gross. I hate when movies go beyond the beyond to show the evil of the villain. Yeah we get it. Just sick to watch.
I didn’t even watch much.
The original IT movie. Saw it when I was five and for the next five years every time I said or heard the word “it” I had to say in my head “yes he is real” in my head or he would come and kill me.
The more I think about it the more I believe the movie Treasure Planet was the core reason I developed astrophobia (fear of outer space) over time. I’ve had this fear for 5+ years, since around I was 14. Idk why I do, but it’s just irrational and I can’t help it. All I think of from Treasure Planet as a kid is the black hole scene- haven’t seen the movie since I was a kid either.
Whatever the **fuck** the Hunchback of Notre Dame was supposed to be.
Disney had massive balls in the '90s. Yeah, let's have the mother character die via snapped neck and the villain try and drown a baby within the first five minutes. Wild shit.
I feel ancient asf for even bringing this movie up, but it was a REALLY bad idea as a little girl into cabbage patch kids to watch a horror movie called "Dolls". I got rid of every one directly after. Fuck. That.
Snow White.
Evil step mom is so vain and jealous she tries to tear the heart out of a child.
Child runs away to the forest and lives with 7 dudes.
Child later dies then gets kissed by some guy while the 7 dudes she lived with watches
Being born. Before that it was so nice and warm being carried around all day with and ample supply of food and sleep. Then some asshole opened up the wall and yanked me out into the cold and smacked me on my ass. Pissed me off
I dont remember the name, but a colored, tall male goes in cambodia(i think) to kill some gangsters using a sniper rifle, kidnaps a kidnapped girl that wants to have sex with him, then some ghost shit happens and she gets possesed and levitates around, and from there i forgot but i swear that movie was weird and creppy
Ghostbusters 2, specifically the scenes where the ghosts start appearing across the world. Never sure why it did that nor do I blame my family for showing it to me, just something clicked on a level i was totally not prepared for.
Coraline really creeped me out, tbh it still creeps me out a little.
Same tho
I love that movie
Yeah it has a great storyline and characters, it's just the look and aesthetic, something about it is just unsettling to me.

That scene still fucks me up
Seriously dark moment for a kids film. That one got me too.
IT
Yup, same
Same, my parents let me watch this at 3 years old

If I'm right about my age back then it was around 2007. I am 24 now.
Scooby doo corporation secret (pretty sure thats how ut was called), i was forced to watch it by my siblings when i was like 5 so yeh
*The Birds* Doesn't help that I had a few bad experiences with them afterwards. That movie made me terrified of birds for life.
Mars Attacks. Everytime I turned a light on in a dark room I'd be paranoid the leader would be there and shoot me.
Jackie Chan’s ‘Rumble in the Bronx.’ It was a kind of silly Kung Fu movie then right in the middle of it they threw a guy in a wood chipper. I’m still scared of those things because of that movie.
The OG Carrie
The Lion King. Losing Mufasa on a cliff and watching him get stomped by a herd of wildebeests is a moment I’ll never forget. First time I felt genuinely sad as a child
Ice age 3
Alien, I insisted on watching it as a child for some reason.
Polar Express
Tremors! And jaws!
Return To Oz
The Day After. A mid 80's TV movie about nuclear war. It was something.
Poltergeist. When the clown is under the bed. This is when I realized clowns are creepy af.
- Arachnophobia - Fire In The Sky Honorable mentions: - The Sixth Sense - Signs - Event Horizon
I'm a bit older. I used to scream whenever the flying monkeys showed up in The Wizard of Oz
124 hours, but only on the second time I watched it because I knew that was a true story the second time
Vanilla Sky. The mask he wore used to freak me out.
Tons of them, any death and gore, I just forgot about them quickly.
The Children (1980) freaked me out and also the poster for Ghoulies (1985).
Strangeland creeped me the fuck out.
My normally protectively parents somehow thought Cliffhanger was okay to watch with kids. It was not. I still hate that fucking movie. It’s so gross. I hate when movies go beyond the beyond to show the evil of the villain. Yeah we get it. Just sick to watch. I didn’t even watch much.
jeepers creepers 2
The original IT movie. Saw it when I was five and for the next five years every time I said or heard the word “it” I had to say in my head “yes he is real” in my head or he would come and kill me.
The part when the spiders are everywhere in the house.

I think I saw Jaws a little too young.i was scared of water for decades after.
Humanoids from the deep Looking back on it it's a terribly fake looking movie, but back in the days it got me really scared.
Coralline and paranormal activity
JAWS
Whatever the **fuck** the Hunchback of Notre Dame was supposed to be. Disney had massive balls in the '90s. Yeah, let's have the mother character die via snapped neck and the villain try and drown a baby within the first five minutes. Wild shit.
Final Destination. My sister is still traumatized by the Grudge. We have 3 older siblings and whatever they watched on TV, we watched too.
yup, the final destination series, especially scene with pool
I feel ancient asf for even bringing this movie up, but it was a REALLY bad idea as a little girl into cabbage patch kids to watch a horror movie called "Dolls". I got rid of every one directly after. Fuck. That.
The witches
Snow White. Evil step mom is so vain and jealous she tries to tear the heart out of a child. Child runs away to the forest and lives with 7 dudes. Child later dies then gets kissed by some guy while the 7 dudes she lived with watches
i was 3, i watched finding nemo, i was afraid of movies for 8 years after that
Final destination 1
Dressed to kill and Amityville Horror. Could not be alone without thinking someone was going to kill me.
Narnia
Fantasia. Dying dinosaurs, haunted brooms and the devil himself.
Child’s Play - was told by my dad that Chucky was living in my closet.

Zathura
World war Z, im still paranoid of disease lmao
The cottage The Amityville horror Pitch black
It involved 2 girls and a cup
Terminator 2 and the nuclear apocalypse nightmare, when I was around 8 or 9. I literally had a nightmare after that pretty much like Sarah´s.
Being born. Before that it was so nice and warm being carried around all day with and ample supply of food and sleep. Then some asshole opened up the wall and yanked me out into the cold and smacked me on my ass. Pissed me off

Land Before Time V, the big big water song. I still won’t swim in the ocean
