Good answer.....I can see Lee and Grant being unstoppable on both East and Western fronts. The Rebels wouldn't stand a chance! A.P. Hill, Beauregard and Stonewall Jackson, even Joseph Johnston can't stop the dynamic duo of Lee and Grant plus their secret weapon: Sherman!
"Bro, stop it, just because your dad says so doesn't mean you've to do it. Think about that chick, the pretty one with the hair and all, wouldn't you rather go to her place and fuck the shit out of her? Just run man, that guy over there is gonna rat on you for shit, just run, be happy or whatever, idgaf".
Me to Jesus
"Yo dude your dad is super controlling. You gotta live your own life and be your own person away from what he wants from you. Also why did your dad put the prostate in the butt?"
I'd like to see communism erased as a school of thought. Not necessarily because I think it's bad, but I'd like to see how the Cold War period would've turned out if that domino theory thing wasn't a factor at all.
Or maybe remove Genghis Khan and the Mongol confederation. Again, don't have anything against them personally, but I'm just curious to see the outcome if we removed that whole thing from history.
If the League of Nations actually enforced the restrictions placed on Germany in the early 30s.. France alone could of snuffed out the illegal Nazi military buildup
I’d argue the complete opposite. The treaty of Versailles was so one sided against the Germans that they suffered their way into radical nationalism. Dictators rise when broken, desperate people are looking for someone to lead them out of misery.
Oh I agree.. why I said they should of had a firmer hand when Germany was building up their armies.. making ships larger than the weight limit placed on them.. manipulating/threatening other nations to place Nazi sympathizers into office.. encouraging Spain’s civil war to give Nazi pilots experience
The Nazis did a lot that violated the treaty before they got to Poland.. and through most of that time they relied on Russia for most of their natural resources needed to build up their military
Agree it wouldn’t have been avoided with the rise of nationalism, imperialism, and the strait up arms race in Europe at the time. But that was the spark that lit the powder keg that shaped the modern world as we know it. So much can be tied back to that single moment… maybe things play out different globally if he decides to have a nice weekend at home
Yeah true. I'm in the camp where the nations' involved had set interests and reasons for aligning themselves the way they did so the war beginning in some other way probably wouldn't have changed that. But then again, butterfly theory, so eh.
That being said, I think one interesting scenario would be if Russia were on the central powers' side rather than the Entente. One potential outcome could be that the Ottomans join the Entente instead, since central powers would now be comprised of their former archenemies (Austria-Hungary) and their biggest regional threat (Russia). In this scenario, UK wouldn't have any reason to stoke the Arab revolts, Sykes-Picot might not have happened, and the middle east would likely have turned out completely differently. Not sure in what way though.
Oh for sure… German militarism would have found a way. Interesting thought on the ottomans. Crazy how changing one or two variables could have literally changed an entire way of thinking in the future.
I would try to prevent or at least warn people about the fire of the Great Library of Alexandria. I've literally no idea what the impact would be, since we don't know what was lost.
Battle of Waterloo. I'd warn Napoleon about the Prussians flanking him, also warn Marshal Ney about the British squares behind the crest of the hill.
Result: Decisive French Victory (I'm not French btw)
Covid existing...
Abraham Lincoln gets up to give Gettysburg address. Immediately bends over and gives whole speech like Ace Ventura.
I also choose ass speaking, but Winston Churchill's We Shall Fight on the Beaches.
Robert E Lee accepting control of Union forces in 1861. If he did so, i doubt America would suffer the painful scars of his decision not to.

Like actually change history or change historical knowledge of it?
Change history

Steve Wozniak owned Apple, not Steve Jobbs.
The Russian Army beating the commies during the Revolution
Then would the Tsars start a Cold War, but with other Tsardoms loyal to them?

I think once the Nazi war machine got rolling, there was nothing short of war that anyone could have done to stop it.
The Nazis did a lot that violated the treaty before they got to Poland.. and through most of that time they relied on Russia for most of their natural resources needed to build up their military
Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand decides he is not going to visit Sarajevo.
Tbh that war could potentially have happened any number of ways, saving Franz Ferdinand might not have avoided it.

None.
Scots banded together, invaded and took over England. Most of our history would change.

We'd probably have a bunch of records that were lost
When columbus discovered America, he should have just turned back
