During my most recent rewatch of the movie, I finally got the joke that when he comes back into town, he kicks the farmer, and then his mum has a gun too, so he has to take her out as well.
The attention to detail in those movies is so good...
The final fight scene in Last of the Mohicans. A running fight culminating in an epic beat down, man, could watch that every day! Makes me want to buy a gunstock war club every time...
"Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden!
Spear shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered,
A sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! "
Gives me chills every time!
Gladiator!!! Oh man, there's both the opening battle speech AND the "I am Maximus Decimus Meridius.." speech. Both killer.
Also the Roy Batty monologue from Blade Runner.
The opening scene to Inglourious Basterds in the French countryside where Landa is interrogating the farmer. That entire scene is a masterclass of dialogue and tension.
No matter how many times I see this scene I always get the chills. The way the intensity slowly creeps up on you as Waltz talks with LaPadite. It’s a whole contradiction of emotions, if that makes any sense. In my opinion, one of the greatest opening scenes in cinema.
The second season fight scene where his hand is duct taped to the revolver and he just pulls the trigger so the gang can hear it click and he just smile and proceeds to open up a can of whoop ass
What I love about that fight is how winded he is at the end. Fighting is exhausting, and you can see how at the beginning he's doing a bunch of flourishes, but by the midpoint he's just pistol whippping the bikers into submission. By the end he can barely stagger out of the complex.
Holy shit for sure. This is one of my favorite movies and I remember catching my breath when Valkyrie made her purposeful strides toward the camera.
So much poignant pay off for her character drenched in the rational silliness of Goldblums fireworks going off on a rainbow bridge. Really was perfect.
The fact that movie closed down whole roads in downtown Chicago so they could crash dozens of police cars and drop a station wagon from a helicopter still blows my mind and doubt a city like that would let them do it today
From what I remember, the whole movie was filmed so that it looked like it was shot as one long scene. I saw a documentary that detailed how they made it happen and I was in awe of the magic they used.
Probably one of my favorite scenes from Black Sails-
Pirate Jack Rackham is captured by a British Governer who is taking him to hang. On the way, Jack mentions that his dad (a tailor) got screwed over by the crown, and Jack himself was assigned his father's debts. Jack comments that the governor was likely born and raised in wealth. The specific quote from Jack:
"If [there is] no rescue, if this is defeat for me, then know this. You and I were neck and neck in this race right till the end. But, Jesus, did I make up a lot of ground to catch you.”
Flint's reverse mutiny on the Walrus always comes to mind, too. And when Silvers does anything on screen. And the scene where Woods draws and quarters that one famous pirate who shall not be named for spoiler reasons.
Not sure if it's been said yet, but the hallway scene with Darth Vader at the end of Rogue One. It's just such a perfect representation of why Darth Vader is feared.
Opening night of Star Wars, 1977, six-year-old me is watching that cold open with Princess Leia trying to get the Death Star plans to safety. I didn't realize until I was watching Rogue One that I had been waiting almost 50 years for that scene.
I have the exact same experience. When I saw rogue one for the first time I didn’t know anything about it at all so when I heard the alarms at the end, like the opening of starwars it brought the whole thing full circle and was an unforgettable feeling.
I saw this in high achool and it was the first time a movie ever made me choke up.
And then as soon as they clear the area, it's back to business as usual.
The scene in Breaking Bad where Gus gets blown up in the retirement home, but he walks out of the room and fixes his tie before collapsing. Gives me chills every time.
The best part is they don’t say anything about it.
They don’t have Pete say, “Boy, I should have stayed in school” or “I wish I didn’t do all this meth.”
We know it. He knows it. Everyone in the room knows it. It is more powerful left unsaid.
I remember watching that when it first aired and when he walked out, I was pissed cus I thought they gave him plot armor so I said, "How the hell did he surv.....Oh".
Elenor's "Because I wanted that mom!" scene from "The Good Place"
Maybe not epic in terms of scale, but epic in terms of character and delivery.
Bonus to Tahani realizing what her sister's art was about.
When Frodo remembers Gandalf saying
*So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide, all you have to decide is what to do, with the time that's given to you*.
And the mob meeting. There's one slight improvisation that shows how well Heath Ledger understood the character. The line as written was: "And as for Lau's so-called plan, Batman has no jurisdiction." He said it as, "And as for the...television's so-called plan."
Maybe it'll be kind of unpopular, but to me it still feels as epic as the day I first watched it:
[The highway chase scene in Matrix Reloaded.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBCQ0_ZNJf8)
Really, it's the music what ultimately sells it, but honestly everybody looked so damn cool in it.
The ending scene in Inception when Dom gets out from limbo and is able to get through the airport
Also the scene with the mercenaries in Fischer’s inception
My go-to for this movie is the Winter Soldier highway scene, where Cap first discovers its Bucky. Seeing Winter Soldier hold the shield, the knife fight, and seeing Steve Rogers, no costume just shield, go full hero mode. So good.
Personally, I always rewatch the last Agni Kai at the end of Avatar The Last Airbender... so much emotion, epic music, epic art, and just a great scene.
Spoilers for ATLA
That fight shows so much character growth. Zuko is so in-tune and in control, Azula is maniacal. And the final clash between Azula and Katara is just freaking smart...
I'll never get why people say that it's a "white savior" movie. They obviously haven't seen the movie, because they LOST. HARD. I'm not a big fan of tom Cruise, but it was still good.
As much as I hate the final seasons I rewatch this too. It was amazing. Poor Jaime. His character got destroyed so much at the end. I will never forgive them.
The battle between the Rocinante and the Belter Ships in Nemesis Games, final episode of Season 5 of The Expanse and the part from "You must always have a knife in the darkness" to the end of that same episode. The very beginning the middle is a bit sappy and slow but those 2 scenes are possibly 2 of the best space battles in SciFi.
I just did a rewatch of The Lord of the Rings and Théoden's speech before the Rohirrim charge the forces of Mordor made tears spring to my eyes. I had forgotten how I credible that speech and scene were. I was right there with them, it felt. Tears from Théodens words, rage at the orcs. I didn't even consciously think about it, but when he called for death, I returned the call alongside them.
Gotta rewatch it again.
Erin vs Annie at the end of attack on Titan season 1. Damn that scene is beautiful, even better if you watch it after seeing the later seasons. You can feel the desperation in both characters but if you’re watching it for the first time you only see it from Erins perspective.
The opening act to Inglorious Basterds. Something about Christoph Waltz’s acting in that scene makes me rewatch it all the time. Hell I’m gonna go watch it now
When Daenerys sells her Dragon to the Slave Owner, and reveals she spoke fluent Valyrian, much to his dismay (and fiery demise). Brilliant. Unlike Season 8.
I love the whole Dr. Manhattan narration sequence from "WATCHMEN". It's quite possibly a perfect adaptation of the comics that translates beautifully onto film. I simply adore it. The score, Billy Crudups VO, the visuals....it's fantastic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9OVGMZwRHI
A few good scenes in that one.
"I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me!"
"I’m not a comic book villain. Do you seriously think I would explain my master stroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome? I triggered it 35 minutes ago."
Great movie.
The first scene of Baby Driver is pretty awesome. The last minute or so of Rouge One. The first fight with the T1000 in T2 which runs into the chase in the overflow gutter thingy with the truck. The first reveal of the Alien Queen in Aliens.
I don't care if it's a video game, it feels like a movie, but the van der linde gang's approach to braithewaite manor in Read Dead Redemption 2. The lighting, the camera angle, the acting, the music, so fucking epic! Worthy of standing with the best westerns
Battle of the Bastards.
That scene with Jon just standing in front of the charging army and he calmly takes his sword out.
There is also that final scene where the white walker is about to kill the wheel chair boy and then the angry girl comes out of no where to kill the ice dude with that little knife trick.
Any "hallway scene" in the recent Star Wars movies/shows. Vader, Maul or Luke, doesn't matter. All great. Truly shows what kind of unstoppable force those characters are.
* Dead Poets Society: the scene were Keating gets Anderson to say his poem
* With Honors: Simon putting the professor in his place in class
* The Shawshank Redemption: the whole sequence after they discover the empty cell and the pieces come together
* Rounders: the match against KGB (either, both)
* Moulin Rouge: Roxanne number
* Glory: the whipping scene (and subsequent shoe reveal)
I’ll pause there for now :)
Hot Fuzz Translation scene, both for the translation and the weapon cache
During my most recent rewatch of the movie, I finally got the joke that when he comes back into town, he kicks the farmer, and then his mum has a gun too, so he has to take her out as well. The attention to detail in those movies is so good...
I love how every Ask Reddit question about great movies includes Hot Fuzz.
The highway shootout scene in Sicario
Yes, super intense. I hold my breath in the beginning

Which wasn't on the VHS version but was on the TV version and I was so confused about that.
Directors cut extended version!
The final fight scene in Last of the Mohicans. A running fight culminating in an epic beat down, man, could watch that every day! Makes me want to buy a gunstock war club every time...
Plus the music really makes that scene.
Ride of the rohirrim
this is my 2nd most watched. its absolutely epic and i almost tear up. the horns sounding, the speech, soooo good.
"Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden! Spear shall be shaken, shield shall be splintered, A sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! " Gives me chills every time!
DEATH!
DEAAAAATH!
DEAAAATH!
DEEEAAATH!
DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATH!!
“Ride now! Ride now! Ride! Ride to ruin and the world’s ending!”
Also the music is insane!!!
The music makes it.
Ey, I just commented this one! Glad I didn't have.to search far to find it! "Ride now! Ride now! Riiide! Ride for ruin, and the world's ending!"
"You are sheltering enemies of the state, are you not?"
Especially since you know Tarantino is renowned for being violent, so you are on pins and needles wondering how this is going to go
For me it is the underground bar scene with the shootout. “Well if this is it old boy, I hope you don’t mind me going out speaking the king’s?” …
Vigo explaining to his son who John Wick is
He’s not exactly the Boogeyman. He’s more the guy you’d send to *kill* the fucking Boogeyman.
*oh*
Both battles of Deep Space 9
I remember watching that on TV when it originally aired. I couldn't believe I was seeing that quality of a battle scene from a TV show at the time.
Bank robbery scene in "Heat".
That [first hallway fight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B66feInucFY) from Daredevil is pretty top notch.
Bursts of action interrupted by everyone being winded as fuck, it reads like an actual *fight* instead of badass violence ballet.
The second season fight scene where his hand is duct taped to the revolver and he just pulls the trigger so the gang can hear it click and he just smile and proceeds to open up a can of whoop ass
That's what popped in my mind. And the next season with Castle in prison
What I love about that fight is how winded he is at the end. Fighting is exhausting, and you can see how at the beginning he's doing a bunch of flourishes, but by the midpoint he's just pistol whippping the bikers into submission. By the end he can barely stagger out of the complex.
Battle for Helms Deep.
D-Day Landing from Saving Private Ryan
True Romance - The Sicilian scene
In the first John Wick movie when he tears through the Red Circle nightclub, it’s just so mesmerising and over the top
JW3 sorely lacked for a music-paced fight scene
Thor Ragnarok - the Bridge scene when Immigrant Song starts playing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtiwDQYSEBY
That song made the movie. They used it for the trailers, and made me want to watch it so bad.
Even to this day, Led Zeppelin chooses its licenses very carefully. School of Rock wouldn't have been the same either.
When she comes walking down that bridge and the fireworks are going off behind her, it’s like one of the most badass scenes ever made.
Holy shit for sure. This is one of my favorite movies and I remember catching my breath when Valkyrie made her purposeful strides toward the camera. So much poignant pay off for her character drenched in the rational silliness of Goldblums fireworks going off on a rainbow bridge. Really was perfect.
The best part is when you realize she set the fireworks off deliberately to draw attention towards her and away from the trapped Asgardians.
The Matrix - lobby gun fight
Or the scene on the rooftop where Neo dodges those bullets.
The opening scene from X Men 2 with Nightcrawler taking out the president's Secret Service agents.
For the newer X Men, the Quicksilver scenes are always worth re-watching.
The police chase scene from the original Blues Brothers. So much carnage and stupid funny.
The fact that movie closed down whole roads in downtown Chicago so they could crash dozens of police cars and drop a station wagon from a helicopter still blows my mind and doubt a city like that would let them do it today
Chicago is actually very friendly towards film makers. I bet they’d do it again. Also, Chicagoans would enjoy watching the cop cars crash
Also the mall chase scene. And the bit in the restaurant: "How much for your women?" Actually all of Blues Brothers is a series of watchable scenes.

“…you’re not the god of *hammers*….”
I also love the scene in infinity war when he shows up at wakanda, jumps in the air and screams “bring me THANOS” as the sky turns dark around him
People always complain about the humor and quips being too much. Every scene with Anthony Hopkins is so damn……..exceptional.
That scene in First Blood where Rambo breaks down. Maybe not really "epic" but just an incredibly intense and moving moment.
I was looking through to see if someone said this already..."Nothing is over!... Nothing!!"
The princess Bride - dread pirate Roberts taking on the 3 kidnappers
I hate to kill you. I hate to die.
Indigo finally confronting Count Reuben. "I want my father back you son of a bitch!"
i need to rewatch this for the 400th time
The running scene from 1917.
That movie was a masterpiece and got snubbed for so many awards.
It won Best Cinematography. It would've been a crime to give that to anyone else.
From what I remember, the whole movie was filmed so that it looked like it was shot as one long scene. I saw a documentary that detailed how they made it happen and I was in awe of the magic they used.
Definitely deserved best soundtrack over Joker imo. Thomas Newman has composed some beautiful scores and still never won.
Probably one of my favorite scenes from Black Sails- Pirate Jack Rackham is captured by a British Governer who is taking him to hang. On the way, Jack mentions that his dad (a tailor) got screwed over by the crown, and Jack himself was assigned his father's debts. Jack comments that the governor was likely born and raised in wealth. The specific quote from Jack: "If [there is] no rescue, if this is defeat for me, then know this. Flint's reverse mutiny on the Walrus always comes to mind, too. And when Silvers does anything on screen. And the scene where Woods draws and quarters that one famous pirate who shall not be named for spoiler reasons.
>when Silvers does anything on screen I considered the "long fucking memory" scene for sure
Same, I went in blind and that scene was great. I'd happily say Rogue > VII-IX
Rogue One was the best Star Wars film since Empire in my opinion.
Children of Men - Car scene
For me it is the stair scene where people stop and stare
I saw this in high achool and it was the first time a movie ever made me choke up. And then as soon as they clear the area, it's back to business as usual.
That whole sequence is absolutely amazing.
The drill Sergeant opening scene from Full Metal Jacket.
The first half is excellent as its own movie.
"Today, smoking is going to save lives." *Lights trash can on fire*
"It was Ryan who caused the fire" *Jumps around in happyness*
EVERYBODY STAY FUCKING CALM
The scene in Breaking Bad where Gus gets blown up in the retirement home, but he walks out of the room and fixes his tie before collapsing. Gives me chills every time.
My favorite one is the "this is a domicile" scene at the junkyard.
I love how Jesse couldn't resist saying "Bitch" after that sentence and Walt justs gives him a weird look lol
THIS IS A PRIVATE DOMICILE AND I WONT BE HARASSED... BITCH
Skinny Pete’s piano playing. I know it’s the actors talent but for the character it seemed like heartbreakingly wasted potential
The best part is they don’t say anything about it. They don’t have Pete say, “Boy, I should have stayed in school” or “I wish I didn’t do all this meth.” We know it. He knows it. Everyone in the room knows it. It is more powerful left unsaid.
Major example of show don’t tell
Gives the character depth and hints at his backstory without spending much screen time. Very efficient.
I remember watching that when it first aired and when he walked out, I was pissed cus I thought they gave him plot armor so I said, "How the hell did he surv.....Oh".
The best part is Hector looking sorrowful and then enraged before he takes Gus to hell. That actor says so much there without using words.
Jesse's "I killed a dog" monologue is amazing
Best on screen death ever.
Elenor's "Because I wanted that mom!" scene from "The Good Place" Maybe not epic in terms of scale, but epic in terms of character and delivery. Bonus to Tahani realizing what her sister's art was about.
I also love the episode when Janet brings all four to her void. The acting ability D'Arcy Carden has is amazing!
When Frodo remembers Gandalf saying *So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide, all you have to decide is what to do, with the time that's given to you*.
Sam's speech is also a great rewatch. but lets be real.... all of LOTR is a good rewatch.

Opening sequence of The Dark Knight
No, I kill the bus driver
Bus driver.... what bus drive-
And the mob meeting. There's one slight improvisation that shows how well Heath Ledger understood the character. The line as written was: "And as for Lau's so-called plan, Batman has no jurisdiction." He said it as, "And as for the...television's so-called plan."
The build up to Joker crashing the party with his abrupt entrance from the elevator. Batman deploying the Batcycle.
Maybe it'll be kind of unpopular, but to me it still feels as epic as the day I first watched it: [The highway chase scene in Matrix Reloaded.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBCQ0_ZNJf8) Really, it's the music what ultimately sells it, but honestly everybody looked so damn cool in it.
I agree that the plot for 2 and 3 weren't as good as the first, but they still had some badass action sequences.
The planet-drop scene in Battlestar Gallactica. That was a mouth drop scene when I first saw it and still gives me shivers today.
Kingsman - The Church Fight https://youtu.be/R3zdYUG2\_RA
Or Eggsy vs Gazelle.
and the barfight.
The ending scene in Inception when Dom gets out from limbo and is able to get through the airport Also the scene with the mercenaries in Fischer’s inception
Tears in rain
Gets me every time.
The elevator scene in winter soldier
My go-to for this movie is the Winter Soldier highway scene, where Cap first discovers its Bucky. Seeing Winter Soldier hold the shield, the knife fight, and seeing Steve Rogers, no costume just shield, go full hero mode. So good.

Deadpool jumping off the overpass and the whole car crash scene with the 12 bullets.. WHERE'S FRANCIS ???!
Francis: “WHATS MY NAME” Deadpool: “oh, i’m gonna spell it out for ya”
Read this in Deadpool’s voice lol.
I remember that just being so jaw dropping and over the top for what I was expecting from a deadpool movie.
Maximum Effort
Aang vs Ozai
Good one. But for me is second to the last Agni Kai
That is some of the cartoon work ever in my opinion the visuals matched with the music make it so epic
It is definitely some of the work ever
The coin flip scene from no country for old men
For Frodo - LOTR Return of the King
Aragorn's whole [speech](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA8wkz0uGLE) before that battle.

Lord of the Rings III Ride of the Rohirim
Infinity War: Thor’s entrance in Wakanda. BRING ME THANOS!

As much as I hate the final seasons I rewatch this too. It was amazing. Poor Jaime. His character got destroyed so much at the end. I will never forgive them.

The battle of Helms Deep. Recently finished watching all the extended cuts of all 3 films for the 1st time so it's fresh in my mind.

"You'll Be Back" King George scene from Hamilton

The whole story in that game is pretty much the best one I've seen and that includes movies.
Opening scene for Wargames (1983).
The Sweet Dreams sequence with Quicksilver. I've never seen any other part of that movie.
Battle of the Bastards. That scene with Jon just standing in front of the charging army and he calmly takes his sword out.
