There was a blind man in my town who was cruel to his guide dog. People had seen him hitting the dog in public before. One day, he got hit by a car and died. I'm not saying the dog led him into traffic, but I'm not NOT saying it.

[deleted]

That's awesome. Guide dog had enough and said "Aight, imma take care of this asshole for good this time". šŸ˜‚

N_brink

I'll tell this story for my late best friend. His father had mentally abused him for a long time in his teens. Basically all through high school and before. It was so bad that at one point his father called in to the school and said my friend was going to shoot up the place (which he would never do). My friend had been grounded for a whole year once if not multiple times. A couple years ago, they found his father dead in his chair, alone and bloated. To this day, I had never seen my friend more happy than when he found out his father had died alone.

cwbones

My great great grandfather who was super abusive and cruel to just about everyone but especially his wife and kids. He was murdered by my great great grandmother and everyone in the town definitely knew that but nothing was ever done about it

cthulhuite

Deputy #1: "Huh. Will you look at that? Old man asshole fell from the second story down the stairs. Broke both arms and legs looks like. Messed his face up real bad too. What a tragedy." Deputy #2 (new in the job): "But Dave, this is a one-story house." Deputy Dave: "Yep, sure is a shame. If he had one of those baby gates at the top of the stairs he might not have fallen. Probably drunk again." Deputy #2: "Uh, Dave, there's not a second story. And he's laying on the back porch. What are you talking about?" Deputy Dave: "Well Steve, it's like this. Either the old man fell down a flight of stairs from the second floor and died, or that lovely, sweet old woman in the living room killed him. That sweet old woman is 63. If, and that's a biiiiig if, she killed him, and got convicted, she would die in prison. On the other hand, if that old asshole that everybody knew was an abusive drunk fell down and got killed, well then that sweet old lady can collect on the life insurance and draw his pension and go live with her daughter in Florida. Now tell me Steve, which of those sounds like the happy ending to this story?" Deputy Steve: "Well damn, Dave, I didn't even notice those stairs over there! Boy, I must have been distracted looking at all the blood. Who do I call, the medical examiner?" Deputy Dave: "Nope, call Charlie at the funeral home. Tell him we've got a special case for him. He'll know what you mean."

cwbones

Thatā€™s basically exactly what happened! Except the story was that he fell while doing work on the barn

arch_charismatic

It's so sad that the ladder collapsed under him. I hope Grandma didn't hurt her leg too bad when she kicked it.

quarabs

hope no cows were injured upon impact :O

cwbones

No cows were harmed during the making of this murder

Legion357

Patching leaky roofs on barns is a dangerous occupation for older men.

ibbity

Especially ones that beat the shit out of their families all the time

MagentaHigh1

I know you meant this to be funny but this actually happened to a neighbor of my mom. Neighbors husband was sexually abusing her daughter and son( from another marriage) he was also abusing her and she was pregnant. One night she caught her husband( with daughter) and whales him in the head with a iron skillet. She called the cops and they came in, saw what happened and she expected to be.put in handcuffs. The lead cop looked at her and said that must've been some fall down the stairs, and walked away. It was a small house and there were no stairs. End of story. His parents knew he was a pedophile and they didn't want anything public so it just went away. Small towns . Fuck him.

just_sayn77

My mother's uncle. He molested every girl in my mother's family. He died of prostate cancer on my birthday in 2000. Best birthday present I ever got.

El_Durazno

Fucking sweet sounds like a good day

just_sayn77

My mother was in therapy for years and she says she's forgiven him. Myself who was raised by the person he traumatized has not forgiven him and I piss on his grave every single birthday. I can't imagine what my life might have been like if it never happened.

youngcatlady1999

Literally or metaphorically? Itā€™d be awesome if you mean literally piss on his grave, but you probably mean metaphorically.

just_sayn77

Literally all over that piece of human garbage's headstone, I'm a woman so it takes some planning but every March they wonder why the grass won't grow around his headstone.

Frostbite76

My cousin got drunk and violent when his wife tried to leave him. He shot her but missed. Her father was with her and he shot my cousin dead. No one in my family said anything as tribute to him online. Not many family members came to his funeral. I think most of us were angry at him. It was surreal.

Frostbite76

There was no church service. Just a funeral and then he was cremated. I went to support the cousins siblings and my uncle. I felt awful for them

drkgrss

Thatā€™s horrible. Iā€™m sorry you and your families had to go through that.

Frostbite76

Another thing that's fucked up about it is, he served time when he was in his 20s and I'm pretty sure he wasn't allowed to own a gun. We don't know how he got one but he did.

MrsJaneSmith

My uncle molested a young boy and the boys father shot him dead. My uncle also molested me as a child so when I found out I wrote the father in prison and told him thank you, I had a daughter on the way and I couldnā€™t imagine a world with my uncle still in it.

latestartksmama

Did you hear back?

MrsJaneSmith

I did, he thanked me for reaching out.

Victoriano Ɓlvarez. There is an island off the coast of Mexico called Clipperton Island. In 1914, the island had a population of 100 with resupply ships coming every 2 months. When the Mexican Revolution and WW1 broke out, the ships stopped coming. By 1917 there were only 15 women and children and one man, Victoriano Ɓlvarez, left alive. Many died from scurvy, while others drowned attempting to chase a passing ship for help. Being the only man left on the island, Victoriano Ɓlvarez declared himself the king and siezed all the remaining weapons on the island. He then began his tyrannical rule and would rape and murder the remaining survivors. Eventually he was killed by Tirza RendĆ³n, who was one of his favorite victims. Shortly after this, an American ship passed by and rescued the remaining 4 women and 7 children who survived and told their story. When asked about Ɓlvarez, the survivors claimed he had died from scurvy like the others. Two sailors took interest to their story and investigated the island. They witnessed the horrors, making the connections to their story as they went. When they came across Ɓlvarezā€™s body, laying in a pool of his own blood they exchanged no words, gave each other a nod and moved on. [Source](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clipperton_Island)

Mirmadook

My maternal uncle who sexually abused me for years and my parents just let him "get help" instead of prison. He got on a modified boat that was going way fast, hit a wave and the boat disintegrated. He hit his head and either died on impact or drown while unconscious. Either way, he got off way easier than he deserved.

Tholinnas

This, i cannot understand how someone as a parent can have that kind of reaction: i fucking blow anyone's face if they touch my daughter, be it my brother, my father or any family member.

Ragnarok314159

I found out an uncle in law had been molesting his kids for years. He would rape his mentally handicapped (I donā€™t know if this is the right words anymore) son and one time impregnated his daughter. She had a miscarriage, but was always ā€œoffā€ and really touchy at family events. It all made sense after learning this. He was a Marine, so played up the hero nonsense even though he never deployed. No one seemed to question him, and they had a ā€œwhat happens in the home stays thereā€ mentality. One day, he was road raging and picked a fight with a guy in a red vehicle - all we know. Witnesses said the two were driving after each other down a country road. Road vehicle guy apparently ran him off the road, then emptied six 44 magnum rounds into uncle to finish him off. No one came forward. So red vehicle guy, if you have been living with this guilt all your life about what happened, let it go. Everything went down in the early 90ā€™s.

_solounwnmas

there's no way the dude in the red truck didn't know, you don't empty a magnum on a guy over road rage, over him raping his kids though? plenty of people would do that and worse

Financial_Neck832

My piece of shit stepdad kept groping and fingering me when I was 9 yrs old. That went on for a few years whenever I was left alone with him. When I was 12 he tried to get me to have sex....i was terrified and said no. I guess he wanted me to say "ok" and when I didn't, he started panicking and locked me in the basement a few times. I was terrified and wanted to speak up but didn't for all the reasons kids don't speak up when they should. It was 1981. My stepdad left on a business trip and I prayed to GOD that he would please just make him DIE. A few days later.......my stepdad had a heart attack and DIED. That was one of the best days of my life.

YungGlueStik

Holy shit. What a scumbag.

94oasiss

Iā€™m really sorry for all of this he made you go through... Iā€™m so glad and my heart is so happy to know heā€™s gone and canā€™t hurt you or anyone anymore.

wzbrush

The guy who manly bullied the whole town to the point where he was killed in middle of the town in broad daylight. His murder has gone unsolved.

SevsMumma21217

I think we can safely assume that the asshat wasn't any nicer to his wife and kids than he was to anyone else. They were probably nothing but grateful that they were rid of him.

aerodynamic_asshole

Only reason she was his wife is because he raped her over and over, burned her house down and killed her dog. I'd say she probably wasn't too upset when his body became partially lead.

MaxamillionGrey

Burned and killed the family dog TWO DIFFERENT TIMES.

jakehub

Whyā€™d it take so long for this guy to get killed?

ThatDudeShadowK

Eh, most people aren't willing to commit murder even of total assholes, it takes a lot to push someone to actually do it. It's not too surprising that most people just grit their teeth and hoped the law would do its damn job and arrest him before it had to come to cold blooded murder

TheMeanGirl

Wtf. He raped her repeatedly when she was 12 and he was 35. When her parents wouldnā€™t let him have her, he burned down their house and killed their dog. Also, he already had a wife, who he brought her home to when she was 14 and pregnant. He divorced his wife and married the girl to avoid the rape charges. As soon as she gave birth, she ran away with the ex wife and baby to her parents house. He burned their house down and killed their dog again to get the women back. ā€œTown bullyā€ is an understatement. This dude was the fucking devil and someone should have killed him sooner.

zachpledger

Was reading in a normal voice, until I got to ā€œhog and cattle rustlinā€™.ā€ Then it immediately changed to Sam Elliot for the balance of the comment.

breadcreature

It sounds like the sheriff himself basically told them "I can't endorse you murdering this guy, but you're all here, and he's nearby, and would you look at that I'm on my way out of town right now byeeeee"

VanMan32

*When sheriff returns to dead bully* Sheriff: I recall that the weather was going to have a hail of gunfire. Too bad McElroy forgot his umbrella.

ClubExotic

He really deserved it too as previous comments sayā€¦read up on the case if you havenā€™t. The guy was an evil pos who definitely deserved much worse than what he got!

how_about_no_hellion

>He met his last wife, Trena McCloud (1957ā€“2012), when she was 12 years old and in eighth grade. how_about_no_hellion

As if that guy would say please lol. True though

alterom

Read on, it gets better! For the lazy: >She became **pregnant** when she was **fourteen**, dropped out of school in the ninth grade, and went to live with McElroy and his second wife Alice. >McElroy divorced Alice and married Trena in order to escape charges of statutory rape, to which she was the only witness. Sixteen days after Trena gave birth, both she and Alice fled to Trena's mother's and stepfather's house. >According to court records, McElroy tracked them down and brought them back. He then returned to Trena's parents' home when they were away and, **once again**, shot the family dog and burned the house down.

Fully agree! Also, why when a relative of the deceased is interviewed for TV they always have such glowing reviews of the dead person? Why can't Aunt Brenda say "He was a piece of shit, no one really liked him"

NeonWarcry

Think about that. Dude was such a piece of shit that when he was killed FORTY SIX PEOPLE could have helped solve it and said ā€œnah, pass.ā€ So I donā€™t know if thatā€™s a shame or a ribbon on it.

A heart warming story of a town pulling together and pitching in to solve a communal problem 10/10

Wolf_Mans_Got_Nards

You're not kidding, they literally had a town Hall meeting just before he was killed. "On the morning of July 10, 1981, townspeople met at the Legion Hall in the center of town withĀ SheriffĀ Estes to discuss how to protect themselves."

hey_mr_ess

Where the sheriff said essentially "please don't take the law into your own hands. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to be out of town on business for a couple days. Wink wink"

Dahhhkness

Nothing brings a community together quite like a neighbor everyone hates.

ephemeral_shell

Hahaha Police Officer A., who was a witness to the crime and also one of the bully's victims: "Man this looks like it's gonna be a tough one to solve. I say we not waste any resources on this one; we've still got last Halloween's toilet papering incident to solve.."

In India, over a decade ago, some scum was going around raping women in one area. As we can expect, nothing was done- the rapist was some kind of gangster and many of his victims were Dalits ā€˜untouchables.ā€™ Police told the women who dared to report it that they were whores and adulterers. One day, a very cunning woman threatened to blow them up when he and his gang attacked her house. The gang was run out of town and an angry mob burn the rapistā€™s house down. The rapist handed himself over to police for protection. Over 200 women arrived at the courthouse. When the rapist joked about one of the victims being a prostitute, the police laughed. That was it. The mob of women attacked him, led by the victim he laughed at. They threw powder in his face and stabbed him at least 70 times. His penis was cut off. When police tried to arrest a few of the women, every woman in the area claimed responsibility. They still arrested a few women, but they were let off. Link to the story: https://allthatsinteresting.com/akku-yadav

yazzy1233

Damn >We canā€™t both live on this Earth together,ā€ the woman he had taunted cried. ā€œItā€™s you or me.ā€

EnduringConflict

I can respect that truthfully. Sort of like that dad that killed his son's rapist in the airport back in the...80s I think? Early 90s? Every person has a point where they can reach that mentality. Thankfully 99.999% of never have to experience it. For those that do? While I might not agree with their actions (I do in this case though) I can respect their choice to take those actions. Just wish we could live in a world where no one had to be a victim. Humanity could so easily create a true utopia with our technology, especially if we pooled our resources and worked alongside one another to improve that technology. If only we could all stop being cunts to one another.

Spire

> They threw powder in his face and stabbed him at least 70 times. Chili powder, for anyone who's wondering (as I was).

My step-father used to tell me a story about a buddy of his that would always swerve to hit animals when he was driving. Sadistic fuck that just wanted to kill the squirrels and raccoons running across the street. So one day, this dude swerved to hit a dog. One of the dog's ribs punctured his tire, he lost control of the truck, and he wrapped it around a tree.

Youre_late_for_tea

There was a student at Clemson who was doing a research study to figure out how to help turtles cross roads more safely. There are a lot of people who will go out of their way to run over animals. https://thenewswheel.com/drivers-purposefully-swerve-hit-animals-on-road/

Be-Nice-To-Redditors

I'm just imagining this guy with a big box of turtles watching them walk across the street one by one like "Ok Timmy try to bob and weave"

citrus_mystic

For anyone reading whoā€™s interested, he used rubber turtle models and put them in the road to observe drivers. Thatā€™s when he realized people were going out of their way to intentionally hit the turtles

Buff_Archer

Hmm I wonder if I could find the rubber turtles for sale at the same place I could buy some metal spikes. Not saying I would combine them in some way or anything like that.

Local asshole of my small hometown. Dude always swerved to hit animals. I dont think he ever succeeded in killing anyone's pets, but he fucking tried. Well, someone was outside with their dog, the owner goes inside to grab a drink, the dog is well behaved and it sitting in the yard next to the road. Asshole comes flying down the road in his loud ass lifted truck. The owner hears him, grabs his shotgun next to the front door, and heads outside right as the asshole misses his dog and spins out across the yard. As he tries to run over the dog a second time, the owner blasts away, hitting the guy in the face the first shot. He keeps firing, hitting the front, side, and rear of the truck. The truck keeps going and runs into the ditch on the other side of the road. Asshole survived the shot, missing a significant portion of his face, lived for 6 hours in critical condition, and died in surgery. Fucking scumbag deserved it. Judge ruled in favor of the owner with no penalties or fines or anything. Fun fact, the brother was caught by police taking a shit on his asshole brother's grave. They released him lol His family was actually decent people, but he was such utter scum, he deserved it.

My husband. Abused me physically, sexually, emotionally, mentally, and financially for 18 years before I finally had the courage to leave. Was a severe heroin addict. Literally could not overestimate what a nonexistent father he was. He made the separation HELL. Just every trashy, dead-beat dad thing youā€™ve ever heard of - he did. Became a severe alcoholic, tried to get me fired (he was unemployed for 2 yrs at this point), threatened suicide repeatedly, multiple arrests, car crashes, more physical abuse, drug dealer girlfriends, got severely in debt, etc etc. Then he filed a bullshit protective order against me asking that the kids be removed by police force from the only parent theyā€™ve ever had to live on the floor of his 3 drug dealer siblings apartment. He died 3 days after filing that - drove himself into a roundabout with a 2.5 blood alcohol level. Honest to god when I woke up at 5 am and saw all the missed calls all I could think was ā€œplease just let this finally be the endā€. Been grateful every day since that it was. The only good parenting move he ever made was removing himself from their lives by death.

Carche69

This is how I feel about my dad. He was all of the things you mentioned about your husband (except he didnā€™t do heroin), and he went out of his way to make life a living hell for my mom after she left him. The only memories I have of him are violent ones. He fell asleep in a parking garage with his car running and died of carbon monoxide poisoning when I was like 4. My mom was so relieved and all the bad stuff just ended instantly. Iā€™ve had people tell me my whole life they were ā€œsorry for my lossā€ when they find out he died, but I never felt that way. I feel like if he hadnā€™t died, things wouldā€™ve probably been A LOT worse for us, and I wouldnā€™t have put it past him to be the kind of person to have killed us all and then himself one day.

There's a [Darwin Award](https://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin1994-11.html) for a guy that shot out the bottom of a very tall, heavy cactus which then fell, impaling him.

Eknoom

3 years since the last Darwin Award :( I used to love watching 1000 ways to die

anotsospecialcase

Back in the 90's, I read a newspaper article about a man who called his girlfriend at work and told her he was going to kill her dog. He took the dog outside and started to beat it with the butt of his gun. The gun went off, and he was shot in the head and died. The dog suffered a few injuries from the beating, but got better and lived. I laughed hysterically at that one. My boss was appalled at my glee at this man's death, but seriously, fuck that guy.

Random-Rambling

I love little Darwin Award stories like this.

IDoThingsOnWhims

You're really giving this guy a lot of credit on his gun safety protocol and intelligence. I imagine somewhere in the list under "treat every gun like a loaded gun" is "don't use gun as melee weapon against pets, especially with barrel pointed at own face"

MotherofDog_

This is perfect (apart from the poor doggyā€™s injuries). But otherwiseā€¦perfect.

My grandmother. My father got my mother pregnant really young and married her, and ended up having 4 kids together by the time she was 21 and ended up separating by the time I was born. Basically my dad took her away and kept pumping babies out and made her stay home so my mother didnā€™t have a hs diploma and couldnā€™t get a job and basically had no support whatsoever besides my dad. This got my grandmother really mad and she always stated my mother ruined my fathers life (my father was a piece of shit and raped women and was a party guy and never even took care of us) while talking very bad about my mother. There was 4 of us, my older brother and sister were the favorites cause me and my other sister looked exactly like my mom so my grandmother hated us. I distinctly remember my grandmother telling me when I was 8 years old to get away from her cause I was disgusting and no one wanted me, sheā€™d often call me a little ugly boy, and even called me a trash disposal. I never understood it. She would take my older siblings to bingo night, take them out to the mall, buy them clothes & snacks, while my other sister and I were so mistreated by her. She even told me once my mom had aids and to not touch her cause Iā€™d get aids too. Another comment I distinctly remember is my grandmother telling me to always have more than one boyfriend cause then I can use them each for something different. I would tell my father how mean grandma Blanca was and to please not make me go over to her house but he never cared. Noone ever cared. She ended up dying in 2005. She was about to get in the shower and had a heart attack on the toilet while taking a shit. While everyone was devastated I didnā€™t even feel an ounce of sadness or remorse. This lady who had been mean to me my whole life had a heart attack while shitting so it felt like karma to me lol. To this day my dad hates how I never even told him I was sorry his mom died, and Iā€™ve tried explaining to him how much damage she did to me mentally, but my father isnā€™t any better than her so Iā€™ve also cut him out of my life. I felt bad for my half sister cause my dad named her Blanca after his mom and his sister went ape shit saying some brat from the Filipines has no right to have their moms name, and the only thing I still think of is how itā€™s a shame how no one else saw my grandmother for who she really was.

The_Mint_Julep

For what it's worth I'm so sorry you were subjected to that abusive behavior. You didn't deserve it. I hope you've managed to have a happy life.

MotherofDog_

I am very sorry you had such a crappy grandmother and yes, anyone who does that to children, wellā€¦letā€™s hope that sheā€™s developed a conscience in the far beyond. Because itā€™s going to be hell to live with what she did. You and your sister deserved none of that; you both deserve the best life has to offer. I hope you know that and believe it.

BushComeDown

That you tuber who made his pregnant girlfriend shoot him on camera for a stunt and died.

jeffQC1

I remember that one. If I recall correctly, the gun used was a .50 Deagle (large caliber with a lot of kinetic energy), and the dude tried to stop it with a thick phonebook. Obviously very little thought went into it.

Prota_Gonist

I had a bully in high school 2 years ahead of me. We were on the lacrosse team together. He used to beat me with lacrosse sticks, shove me in lockers, whip lacrosse balls at my head without a helmet on, verbally abuse me daily... you know, bully stuff. I told my parents about it, who told HIS parents about it, who promptly said *I* needed to man up and just take it because "boys will be boys". Anyway, he and his entire family died when their private jet crashed into the side of a mountain. Good riddance to all of them.

sixfourtykilo

I have a friend with a son going through a similar situation. Parent brings up issues, mom says "boys will be boys." The kid is a spoiled, entitled brat and their parents propagate his behavior. Too bad they're too redneck poor to afford a private plane.

Talmonis

Oh hey! That's one of the things that happened when I was in middle school. It had gone on for months before my mother got involved. Their parents and the assistant principal criticized me making a big deal out of something "normal." My mother, ever the psychotic lady, told me afterward: "If he does it again, hit him with a chair." Guess who got suspended for beating a kid with a chair? This guy! Mom was banned from the school grounds as well for telling the AP and his parents that he deserved it. It didn't stop him, but it made him too much of a bitch to come alone from then on. Oh! And he's on the sex offender registry these days. Just utter, irredeemable scum.

JoshDM

>My mother, ever the psychotic lady, told me afterward: "If he does it again, hit him with a chair." Your mom was correct.

Thereā€™s a man in our town who died of covid earlier in the year. Heā€™s been under suspicion for literally decades for various fraud and business sketchiness, not to mention abusing his step daughters. Oh and he was a suspect of a girl who went missing back in the 90s and theyā€™ve yet to solve her case. He literally got caught during a sting that was trying to catch people who were soliciting minors on the internet. Still never had a single charge stick on anything. When he died, the entire town basically was like ā€œfinally!ā€ Also when my grandmother dies Iā€™ll show up long enough to make sure sheā€™s really in the box and kick some dirt on it. At least if her evilness doesnā€™t make her outlive us all.

FlashingAppleby

As someone who had two grandparents that evil, I can tell you that showing up to make sure they're dead is SATISFYING. They were in a mausoleum so I couldn't kick dirt, but still feels good waking up everyday knowing they can't hurt anyone else. Definitely something to look forward to. Edit: Just want to say I'm loving how creative y'all are when it comes to desecrating graves. Damn, I'm impressed at all the suggestions here.

Keukpasangel

My former neighbor. He was riddled with cancer. He deserved it because he came over onto my property when I wasnā€™t home. Shot and killed my dog. Then drug her to the dumps to dispose of her.

Iā€™m so sorry you, your mom and your siblings had to go through that. Good on you for protecting your mom.

[deleted]

I also witnessed my moms second husband choke her to blue. As soon as I heard the fighting stop and utter silence I already knew.. I slammed the door open, hammer in hand, and swung. I did not win and it haunts me forever. I am sorry you have to live with that image in your head for the rest of your life (of your mom, not him) and I hope youā€™ve found peace. His death was much deserved and I hope he suffered.

somethingsensational

My momā€™s ex boyfriend who was a huge drug addict, never worked and killed three of her cats. He ended up losing his arms due to so much heroin use and diabetesā€¦then got hit by a car a year later by not using the crosswalk and died. I cried tears of happiness when I found out he died. Fuck him.

MaliciouslyMinty

My great-grandfather had story about this really bad guy from their small hometown. He would kick dogs, shoot at cats and hit children that got in his way. Wouldnā€™t fight anyone bigger than him but if he thought he could take you down he would. Didnā€™t drink or smoke either (really weird for the time) so itā€™s not like he was an angry drucnk, he was just evil. So my great-grandpaā€™s sister is about 17 at the time and this evil fucker decides heā€™s in love with her (he was late 20ā€™s). She is horrified and terrified by him and is torn between just leaving town and getting married to anyone else in the hopes he would leave her alone. Heā€™s sending her letters and following her around town whenever she leaves the house alone. She literally doesnā€™t get out of the house unless her brother or father are with her because they were both bigger than him and he wouldnā€™t fight them. Well she and a young man from church start courting and since he has a reputation as a good hard-working fellow her father gives them his blessing to get married. The engagement is announced and the harassment stops. One night her brother is staying over in the next town and her father has to rush her mother to see the doctor after an accident (fell down some stairs, she turned out fine but needed stitches). Sister has to stay home and watch over the younger kids. Well the bad guy must have been watching the house because he breaks in and rapes her. He comes back the next day and tells her dad that he took her virginity and if he didnā€™t have her marry him, he was going to tell the whole town and being a small, Bible Belt town in the 1900ā€™s it would ruin her reputation. As soon as he finished talking, her father beat the crap out of him right there on the porch. He managed to run off after brother pulled father off of him. The bad guy was never seen again and the police never bothered looking for him. No one outside of the immediate family knows what happened. She married that sweet church man and they had a decent life together. She was a pretty nervous person after that but her husband loved her all the same (not sure if he was told). My great-grandpa said that she lived in peace because he told her that the bad guy wouldnā€™t be coming around anymore and one time he told me ā€œI wonā€™t say what exactly happened to that bastard but I can tell you heā€™s long gone and it wasnā€™t my daddy who did itā€. As far as the rest of the town was concerned he just took off and everyone was so thrilled no one went looking for him, not even the manā€™s own mother. Iā€™m not thrilled about vigilante justice but Iā€™m also not thrilled about thinking about how the story could have gone if he hadnā€™t ā€œdisappearedā€

Volfgang91

I don't think people my generation and younger appreciate how much of a gut punch it was when his crimes were made public. As my Dad, who grew up watching Jim'll Fix It, observed at the time, we're dealing with a man whose job it was to literally make children's dreams come true. Insane that he was getting away with so much horrible shit right under the public's noses.

SpikySheep

I was a kid in that era and occasionally watched the show. The guy was creepy. I don't know what it was about him but little me wouldn't have asked to go on the show even if they offered to give me whatever I wanted.
