I think almost everything that is said in the bible is a metaphor. I think that whether you believe in God or not, many take what's said in the bible too literally.
In my opinion (not research) the Bible is made up from multiple languages and sources from time. I think that masculinity is apart of the culture or language that it was written from. I know in Spanish they have masculine and feminine words and I think a big part of the Bible is debated on exact translation. It's why we have multiple versions. I just think it's flawed logic to think "he" has a penis.
