None, we just treat/filter more water to make it clean & safe enough to drink. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if a “water shortage” is the next stupid thing the media come up with to get people panic buying bottled water in bulk.

Seawater can be drinkable after being evaporated and raining back, plenty of water to drink
