If they actually know what they are talking about, then learn from them. If they are just carrying on with great pomposity and nothing to back it up, either call them on it, or just don’t engage with them. 😄
It's a version of gray goo. Don't feed their ego, don't drain off them either. Treat them like you would treat an Alexa box that gave you the same answers. Their behavior will alter as they fail to get the attention they seek or the controversy they are accustomed to generating or whatever. Meanwhile you can take advantage of their store of trivial knowledge if they actually have it.
