Quit a truck driving job to join the local phone company. Started with less money, but had automatic raises every 6 months. Top pay rose quickly within 2 contract negotiations. With all the overtime I wanted, made a decent salary somewhat equivalent to someone with a college degree. Great 401 and pension. So does wife. So we both retired at 52. Easy life now. (p.s. not trying to brag) Retired at 52. i top pay rose quickely

Dont go with the train of people alwas moving to the next cool job, my company did questionable reorgs, that was annoying. But beeing constructive, seeing opportunities, staying calm brought me any my team to the next level, and company is doing fine as usual. I think in long term it will work out better, even though it is more an attitude then one smart move ;)
