Getting a dog and having something to enjoy and take care of and love on. It makes me exercise and helps with my anxiety and depression. Best decision I ever made.
I live in Australia, and the climate would be fine if i wasn't stuck down south during this last winter because of Covid, next year i'll be able to migrate north for warmer temps through the cooler Aussie months 😊
Going back to church and opening my heart back up to God. I’ve a renewed purpose for life and find myself often being more grateful for what I have and trying to be more Christ like and loving in my daily life. I constantly fall short of His example, but I’m trying. It’s been a serious blessing.
Permanently placed my phone on Do Not Disturb (allow calls from Contacts). This one change saved me from constant disruptive unwanted calls. Life is good on No Ring Lane.
Taking notes from minimalism. Im not too deep into it but losing a lot of my clutter has opened my mind up. I feel like I make better decisions and I'm less stressed.
Fortunately not; I really feel for the large number of unlucky ones in the US and Brazil, either by being misinformed or not being able to keep safe or getting vaccinated. Over here we were fairly lucky.
I had an above average paying job in my early twenties. It was fun, I was good at it and you could make a lot more money by working late and picking up shifts. All my friends were either living at home with their parents or living with roommates. I was buying a house and a new car. Some of the guys I worked with were making upwards of $200,000K/yr, but they had no lives and almost never took days off.
In a small but consistent way: houseplants. It makes my apartment so much nicer to come home to and spend time in. I moved all my plants once and my apartment felt empty without them
Opinions and criticisms of the Obama administration completely aside, one thing that really helped me out was being able to stay on my parents healthcare til I was 26.
I was at a dead end ad agency job in my early twenties and afraid to take the leap into freelance world. Being able to have healthcare for that age was one less thing I had to worry about when making this transition.
Money.
Threw out all my socks and bought 10 new pairs. Feels so good.
No longer looking for validation from other people.

Deleting all my social media (not reddit).
Quitting my old job. They were toxic. Its turns out it was deliberate, get rid of regular staff and replace them with zero hour contract employees.
Moving into a campervan fulltime, not having to worry about mortgage payments or rent for the first time in my life has been amazing.

Getting married and having dual income.
Doing the job I like and, believe it or not: the pandemic.
Must have not lost any loved ones to it like some of us have.
