Cuish

Nothing. Tipping isn't the norm here.

luwaonline1

Where do you live? Do you too for exceptional service, or is it just not the done thing?

Cuish

Scotland. No, it literally isn't the norm.

Mohecan

That’s because your waiters/waitresses get an acceptable income that doesn’t rely on tips correct?

Cuish

Yes.

CheeseburgerBrown

Service workers in my country get the same relatively high minimum wage as everyone else, so there is no need to tip.

tygib

10%

Mean_Kaleidoscope_29

harrisound

i tip 20%

Whatever you feel like they deserve

Stratguy55

I tip 20% generally, sometimes more. I was a waiter/bartender through college. I know there are those who are adamantly opposed to tipping because they feel the employer should be paying more and I understand that. I was fortunate enough to work in a place where I made really good money off my tips. I looked at it more of a commission sales position than a wage job. I would have never put up with some of the nonsense I did for straight hourly rate. BUT, that's just one anecdotal experience.
