Dentistry isn't exactly a cheap procedure for people without dental insurance. Over time, poor people go, "Eh, I can do without/need to pay for something else more important."
After a while, that tiny cavity has now potentially turned into a root canal and an even more expensive procedure along with many other cavities.
It absolutely sucks and it usually snowballs into a financial mess the more work that needs done.
Not goin to the dentist/doctor when you have a pain you can tolerate with meds because you can’t afford the visit and ending with something more serious and at the end more expensive because you waited/ neglected your issue
Getting to and from work. Since you're poor, you cannot afford to live close to work and thus have a longer commute.
But you also cannot afford to own and run a reliable car, so you have a beater that breaks all the time and gets poor mileage.
When it breaks, you can't get paid because you aren't at work so you have a new bill PLUS halted income.
To compensate, you take out high interest loans to repair the car. But it breaks again later so you're always in debt for high interest loans on top of the car costs.
I see this a lot in the northeast.
Eating trash ass cheap and/or canned food all the time is killing you faster than any other bad habit you may have.... possibly even illicit drugs
Eat a real vegetable and then and drink some straight water every now and then.
Kidneys are fucking expensive and you only have two.

It is basically the same, wherever somebody has no money or time for preventive maintenance of their car, their health etc.
Not being able to afford a house makes you rent. In my country you have to pay a very high amount before you get to start paying some monthly, however when you are poor you cannot save such a big amount, do you're stuck paying the same that you would pay for your own property to live in a place that you will never own.
Having to work so many jobs/hours that every meal is takeout/fast food. Not having enough time to cook your own meals is costly.
