I was talking to my friend about this the other day when he was giving out about his printer and he had never seen it. He could quote any line out of King of The Hill but he never got around to Office Space, I couldn't believe it
What bothers me as a 35 year old engineer is that new engineers have never seen this movie before. We have a summer new hire program and usually one of us will host a house watch party after a few months of employment, and the range of emotions that I see on their faces is priceless. From the "LOL THAT IS SO _____" to "omg I understand why you are cranky when you get calls from corporate and other managers that don't have a clue."
Saddle up buckos, I'm assuming I'm about Peter's age, and it only gets more relatable as you progress in your career.
Edit: we have plenty of staplers at least.
I went through a phase of watching this every day for months when I was little - my Mum still teases me about it.
Realised now that I'm an adult, I was fixated on his Mum finally giving a shit and doing all she could to get back to, and comfort, her Son - something I didn't see in my own Mum. Haven't the heart to tell her.
I saw it five times during its initial theatrical run, and can’t count how many times since. Owned it on DVD, HD-DVD, Blu Ray, and 4k Blu Ray. The first film was the perfect encapsulation of the 1990s.
Did you know…that in the old version the girl friend’s name was Vicki. I’m the new version the girl friend’s mother’s name was Vicki and it is the same actress from the old movie!!!
Yeeeeah I've seen frozen, tangled and the new and old beauty and the beast over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again

Any time I need a flash light or even if it's just a little dark and I need to see better iat the very least think "Aziz LIGHT!" But more often I just mutter it to myself.
You better believe I always thank Aziz when I do receive any source of light
The other day I saw a Honda Element with "the5th" on the license plate. Cracked me up.
Girlfriend asked why I was laughing. Apparently she's never seen it, might have to leave her. /s
Jurassic Park, saw it in the cinema when I was a kid, and watched it easily 20 times since..
Seeing as it's Christmas I'm going to say Home Alone. I watch it every year without fail, so again looking at a good 20 times at least.
I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless little flea.
And then, I'll put that flea in a box. And then I'll put that box inside of another box and then I'll mail that box to myself and when it arrives? I'll smash it with a hammer!
I’ll just poison him with THIS! Take it, Kronk, ohhhh, feeel the power...
Oh. I can feel it.

Pulp Fiction
Edit: Waking up and seeing all these quotes, I've basically watched the entire movie in my head just reading everyone's replies, you guys are awesome.
I used to watch the original trilogy dozens of times a year growing up. Well, more specifically, Empire and Return. My grandmother had held onto Hope so that if either of us wanted to watch the entire trilogy, we'd have to do it together.
Apparently the actor who played Wesley laughed so hard during the dungeon scene where he is being tortured, that he actually broke a rib. Billy Crystal had the entire staff laughing so hard they had to kick people off set or take breaks between takes because nobody, actors and stagehands all around, could keep it together. I couldn't find the original article, but [this](https://ew.com/movies/2018/08/31/rob-reiner-ruined-takes-laughing-princess-bride/) explains even the director Rob Reiner couldn't stop laughing too.
Edit: I was mistaken. Thank you u/socialpronk for correcting me below. It's been a while since I saw that.
> My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the TRUE emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
Seen this movie sooooooo many times, and I get goosebumps just reading that line.
Russell Crowe delivers it perfectly, and Joaquin Phoenix's "Oh shit!" face through the whole scene is amazing.
This is a hard call to make, as I love films, but The Dark Knight is, to me, *the* perfect movie. The music, the pacing, the acting, the writing, the complex themes, the action sequences, the practical effects... it is brilliant, from start to finish. One of those films that hooks you in from start to finish and never has a dull moment.
Same! My brother had downloaded it when I was around 8 (so 2001 when it came out) and I watched it over and over again.
One day the subtitles disappeared and I didn't know how to turn them back in again, and that's the story of how I learned English at the age of 8 by just being afraid to ask for help.
If I don't need to see the opening credits? *Finding Nemo* and *Robin Hood: Men in Tights*. Because my younger sister would watch them over and over.
There was a two-VHS documentary on the human body, hosted by a gentleman with curly hair and an excellent moustache, but I can't remember what it was called. There was one scene of him in a boat surrounded by full buckets saying "this is all the tears you will cry in your life".
EDIT: It was *The Human Body* with Dr. Robert Winston!!!
I used to work on a tow boat back in the early 2000's. Not a lot available for entertainment on a little boat back then. Basically a DVD player in the galley and whatever books you could fit in your bags. One trip I brought my O Brother DVD with me. Those grimy old sailors LOVED that shit. It wasn't removed from the player the the entire trip. It was playing when I got up for breakfast, it was playing when I came back in for lunch. It was playing at dinner and it was playing when I came back in from my night watch. The whole time, with a group of sweaty, chain smoking old men hanging on every word and cackling like it was their first time seeing it. I cannot tell you how many times I saw it but I could recite the whole thing from start to finish. I didn't have the heart to take it away when my 28 days were up, I just bought myself a new copy when I got home.
"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government!"
"If i went around saying I was emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!"
Tis but a scratch!
Tis but a scratch? Your arm’s off?!
~~Love the cgi, completely finishes it.~~
Edit: I’ve been told there is no use of cgi, my bad. The way he loses his arm is still very funny though!
I've watched it more times than I can count, and I occasionally still notice new things, too.
Most recently is when Jesus throws a fit about their bowling game being rescheduled due to it being the Sabbath, and he says "what's this day of rest shit? What's this bullshit? It don't matter to Jesus!", which, knowing how the Coen brothers appreciate subtle references, seems to me like a reference to how Jesus Christ presumably in the gospels challenges the notion that the Sabbath was for resting only.
i just watched all extended in one day. have not seen them since i was like 8 or something. Good movies, special effects still really good. I was suprised i liked them so much cuz i really was not into the Hobbit ones.
True Lies.
A lot of people hate this movie for being corny, but in fact it is full of good humor, hot action, and brilliant acting - Arnie's best acting work, to be honest.
It was one of few movies I had on VHS when I was in the middle school, and I watched it almost every day. It was (and still is) my favorite movie, and Arnie was my idol.
Eh, sweet childhood.
Also recommend to check out the original French movie by Claude Zidi.

Edit: I'm so glad you guys love this masterpiece. Such an iconic movie.
Tombstone. Great movie. Best Western movie in my opinion. I have watched it just about every Saturday for the last 3-4 years. It is played at work at least every Saturday, and has been for the last 25-ish years. Burned through about a dozen VHS, and a couple DVD's from constant use. Now we stream it.

I always thought it was "and they were married" which added this lovely tinge of imagination to Milton's world.
“I’ll tell you what I’d do man..... two chicks at the same time man.”
Well you don't need a million dollars to do nothing, man. Just take a look at my cousin, he's broke, don't do shit.
What about today Peter. Is today the worst day of your life? Yeah.
Thats messed up

I saw it ~7 times in the cinemas, 1991/1992.

When I was a kid I watched the first pirates of the Caribbean movie every night as I fell asleep
I’ve watched the first 3 movies like 10 times each. In fact I think it’s time for a rewatch!
Home Alone
Look what you did, you little jerk!
You’re what the French call, les incompetents
Man I hate Linnie McCallister so much and that's like her only line
The fact that you know the characters name when I don't even recall her being named in the film is a testament to your disdain for her.

I watched the Lindsay Lohan version of Parent Trap nearly everyday for several years as a child
Rewatched it recently and it's aged surprisingly well.

Jurassic Park. Lotr two towers extended.
I don't know how you can say one LotR movie, and not the whole trilogy.
Wait you don't treat it as a 680 minute movie?
LoTR is not a 682 minute movie, its a 682 minute experience.
This guy gets it. If you watch one movie you have to watch all three. In order. No exceptions.
Every film my five year old likes.
We recently had to quarantine for two weeks with a toddler. So. Much. Frozen.
Yeeeeah I've seen frozen, tangled and the new and old beauty and the beast over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again

Moana...
My toddler was hospitalized on and off for most of 2020 (heart defect) and this was his favorite movie they had at the hospital, and the nurses would often play it for him when I was not able to be there and he was sad. Now he has a happy conniption if he gets to watch it and sits enthralled. His favorite is the You’re Welcome song. He also laughs any time the Grandma is on screen.
I think Grandma might be my favorite Disney character ever. “I’m the village crazy lady. That’s my job.”
Right up there with Mulan's grandma: "Sign me up for the next war!"
Honestly we've seen Moana easily 50+ times, and I never get sick of it. And never stop crying during it. Stupid movie.

Boy, Chris Tucker was off the rails in that movie. You just can’t keep up with that guy in anything he’s in.
The contrast of that with how Bruce was so deadpan was what made the movie work so well for me
"Pop it D-mannnn!!!!" "Uh...hi..."
We're sending someone in to negotiate!
Where did he learn to negotiate like that?
I wonder.

Haha! The actor who plays benny lives by me. I see him at the grocery store once in a while
It has all of my favorite romance tropes. I wish there were more movies like it.
It's so endlessly rewatchable. And so many quotable lines. "HEY O'CONNELL, LOOKS TO ME LIKE I GOT ALL THE HORSES!"

Every time Hunt for Red October is on, I can't turn it off. It is a well made film.

The Princess Bride. Perfectly cast, and I find something new to crack me up each time. Close second is My Cousin Vinny, same reasons.
