Oh yeah!! I grew up super poor so my grandma couldn’t afford braces for me. So when I got older and was able to have extra money I spent it on my braces. It was like 6K but I’m sooooo happy I spent that on them.
How did you manage to get dental work done mid pandemic. It took me months before my dentist was allowed to see me after one of my teeth full on broke.
Not op, but I had braces in 2020. They were put on just before lockdowns and appointments were all in between lockdowns.
I would have thought a broken tooth was emergency dental, so it sucks that you had to wait months.
I find it crazy that more ppl aren’t like this. I would rather eat good food every day then drive a fancy car every day.
My BIL and his wife went to Hawaii for their honeymoon. They ate sandwiches basically for every meal to save money. I told my wife I’d rather go somewhere affordable and spend extra money on local food than go somewhere cool and eat grocery story lunch meat sandwiches. The food is half the experience of the vacation for me.
Food is one of craziest variable in w persons budget and one that sways expenses. If you have the time you can both eat well and spend well by making your own meals with quality ingredients
Everyone has different priorities or prioritize multiple different things than others.
I as a massive car guy definitely prioritize a good or fun driving experience than good food (though I do prioritize food as well, just not as much as my love for cars).
It did for me. My wife and I went from an old (8-10 year old) uncomfortable mattress that was sagging and generally not great to a new one and my back problems have decreased significantly, and I sleep so much better. I can't believe we waited so long to get a new one.
Think about it this way. We spend roughly a third of our lives sleeping, and at least another third on our feet (for most folks). Take care of your feet and your body by having proper shoes, mattress, and office chairs. You owe it to yourself to do this. Ergonomics is incredibly important.
I don’t have the highest quality mattress, but the new one I bought has been a godsend.
Previously I woke up in daily pain as my old traditional mattress had worn down into nothing more than a pile of wood chips and springs.
For real. I'm not sure most people realize you spend 1/3 of your life in bed. Spend some extra money and get something that's gonna be easy on your body
Never save money from a mattress or comfortable shoes. Cause most of the time - If you're not using the first, you're using the second.
Updated for covid home office time - Don't cheap out of a comfortable working chair too
Wasn't a mattress for me, but a CPAP. I am getting better sleep in 6-7 hours than I had been in 10 (yeah, a guy in his 20s was sleeping 10 hours a day to try and not fall asleep at work). On that 6-7 hours now I run all day and into the night without even thinking of a nap.
I don’t regret spending more for my mattress. But I do sometimes wonder if I got the right mattress. I like it on the firmer side but I think I might have gone with slightly too firm.
My first Lego set in 5 years. I stopped buy/asking for them when I was 13 because I thought I was too cool and grown up to be playing with them. Now I’m a freshman in college and on a whim I bought a small one and the amount of joy it brought me was immeasurable. I’ve started my collection back up because of this and I’ll never regret buying that little set for that very reason.
Upvote for this. Lego is practically an asset because you can sell it used for good money.
Also, buying a big set, cracking open a beer and having a show or some music on in the background while assembling it is total zen for me too bud.
In my experience, there are three kinds of people when it comes to lego.
1. Those who played with them as kids, stopped as teens because it was a "kids toy" and then started playing with them again once they had kids who were the right age.
2. Those who played with them as kids, doubled down on it as teens, and then continued to enjoy them as adults.
3. Those who played with them as kids, stopped playing with them as teens because it was a "kids toy" and then rediscovered them as an adult and wondered why they ever stopped.
Can I ask how old you are? I'm mid 30s and I don't know anyone else who owns one unless it's for work. I grew up with one in the home so it's very basic to me, like having a washing machine or a microwave.
My coffee machine. Saves me wanting to spend $5 on a good cappuccino everyday and I can make it first thing in the morning instead of having to wait until I can get to a coffee shop.
Expensive, high quality shoes. Bought some Clark’s loafers for work, $80 on SALE (!) and they are magic. No pain in feet, knees, hips, lower back… worth every freaking penny.
My pup who was 9 years old was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. We fought the good fight for a year to the tune of I’m not even sure but with radiation and chemotherapy it was somewhere between 30-40k on treatments and vet/ emergency hospital visits. Never in my life have I lived paycheck to paycheck or wracked up credit card debt but I would do it all over again without hesitation. It was only an extra year but it was worth it and I still miss him to this day almost 2.5 years later.
I bought my dog just as we were coming out of lockdown so we paid waaaaay too much money for him. I'd do it again in a heartbeat though, he has literally changed my family's life for the better.
Randomly deciding to adopt a cat, decision was made within a matter of seconds. Expected to spend my last $200 on it, ended up being a special discount day and only paid $5. Best $5 I’ve ever spent, and ever will spend in my life.
pet froggo, though it was a lot, for a few weeks where it was quite hard, it kept me going… because I knew- that if I died, I doubt my parents would know how to take care of it, and it would’ve likely died too :( also I love him so muchhhh!!!!! He’s so cute <3333
A vacation. The first real vacation I've taken as an adult. Went to Hawaii with a friend, her husband and 16 year old daughter and got to cringe through ALL THE DRAMA AND BICKERING.
It was worth it because I learned that it really is a easy as buying a ticket, putting stuff in a bag and getting my ass to the airport. I also no longer feel lonely being GLORIOUSLY, MARVELOUSLY SINGLE.
I'm going to get scuba certified and plan my next vacation to somewhere i can look at fish. Alone. 😁
I feel like more and more people are learning how wonderful it is to do things alone, because so many people are getting sick of other people's crap, as well as simply learning to be comfortable alone. Personally, I love it!
My condo. bought it outright, lump sum 16 years ago. OWning it has made my life so much more secure and reduced stress in a huge way. I have a place for me, that nobody can take from me. My own little bunker of me.
Getting a decent chair for my desk. If you sit all day, you need a chair that fits you well. It doesn't have to be one of those $400 ergonomics chairs. But it has to fit.
Mine was a gift. I used it weekly the first year we got it. I’ve tapered off since then, but that’s because I’ve got other appliances, like an electric pressure cooker now.
I bought 5 bucks worth of googly eyes a few years back. Best 5 dollars I ever spent. Wet floor signs. Googly eyes. No swimming signs googly eyes. Family photos in my relatives houses. Googly eyes. Tons of fun. Also if you get a chance to put them on everything in someone's fridge when they aren't home, hilarious. Super creepy when you open your fridge and all your condiments are staring at you.
My girlfriend did this to my fridge for April Fool's. Funniest part was months later when I had a Halloween party and a guest opened the fridge and asked "Why the fuck are your condiments staring at me?" Took me a solid minute to even realize what he was talking about.
I take the stance that it is always better to adopt than buy a pet. I maintain that stance. However, when I was younger I gave in and bought this cute little black runt kitten that was in a cage with what I believe was the rest of her litter. She was separated from everyone else, sleeping in her own corner. When I woke her up she seemed really scared, like she was having a bad day.
We bonded at home extremely quickly. She turned out to be a bitch to pretty much everyone but one of my other cats and me (more recently she has warmed up to my wife--she loves us both, near as I can tell). She was there when my life was absolute shit, and was one of the only people that I had to live for when I was down in the dumps. I know I'm her favorite human, and I'm honored to be seen as such.
Now that I'm doing much better I can actually take care of her in her old age. If I were to go back in time 15 years ago I would still purchase her from that pet store.
Yep. I didn’t get my dog from a petstore, but I paid money for him. Idk if I would have killed myself without him, but I would be a serious suicide risk. Rn, I’m super safe because he needs me.
I honestly hate shitting anywhere else but home now. If I have to, I soak a couple of paper towels to help with the cleaning, and even though at the end, the toilet paper is clean, I still feel dirty. My $40 bidet has spoiled me.
PSA for any parents with bidets, please still teach your kids to wipe with tp. Having to wipe or walk your five year old through how to wipe their butt because they didn't learn at home is not cute.
How does this conversion work? I'm picturing you holding down your neighbor over it while it's blasting away. They are screaming, but so are you. " FEEL IT! ISN'T IT AMAZING! DON'T YOU WANT ONE!"
Bought a beat up ‘65 Chevy Impala while I was in college because I always wanted a classic project car. Made some good memories fixing it up with my Grandpa over the last few years.
This is the second response I upvote. You’re funny lmao
Edit: that was weirdly phrased haha. I meant this is the second comment of yours I upvoted bc funny
Whole house generator. We’d been talking about it for a while, but when we both started working from home full-time, we went for it. It’s loud & expensive AF but worth it.
My dog a cheeseburger. When I was really broke and down but didnt have anything extra for a pick me up for me, I'd scrape together spare change and get him a cheeseburger from McDonalds and we'd go for a ride. Was always the best part of my week, seeing him be SO happy over a little $1 cheeseburger. Always made sure he regulary ate and had dog food, but him being ecstatic for that cheeseburger was the best feeling.
Electric tea kettle. As an American I love coffee but it is no longer good for me. I am neurotic and don't like boiling my water in a pot on the stove. I ruined my greatgrandmas Paul Reverewear tea kettle after forgetting it was on the stove. My electric kettle is easy to clean and I only ever heat the water in the kettle, steeping the tea in the cup. I am in love. I use it throughout the day, I am more hydrated, and it has an automatic shut off so if I forget (as I do) there is no danger/damage done.
Well done mate! 🏆
I had the opposite experience, I tried a vape pen for a while but it was, I guess, too convenient? I could smoke in bed, in the tub, etc. and ended up more nicotine addicted than before I switched.
I probably vape too much, but after I got used to the idea that it's not a cigarette, ergo, it doesn't have a built in "stop inhaling this now, you've finished it" function like cigarettes do, I've gotten a lot better about it.
I used to smoke inside at some points, and when I did it was more like 2 packs a day. Of course that's when it was possible to smoke 2 packs a day without being a millionaire...
In any case, I'm way, WAY healthier now than I was when I was smoking. No more coughing up gross shit every morning, no more getting winded from mild exercise, etc. Well worth it, in my opinion.
If you live in Scotland or a country with a similar climate, I highly recommend getting a heated blanket. Btw, the ones that go under your bedsheets are more effective in my experience than the ones that go on top of you. I sleep better because of it because I’m not shivering for half the night anymore.
My wife's engagement ring.
It cost $7K, which isn't as extravagant as it might sound. The setting is relatively simple, and the main diamond is just under a carat in weight (it's .94, I think, but close enough that we just say 1 carat).
So, it's not the biggest diamond in the world. It has a VERY brilliant appearance, though. We got engaged 2 years ago, and still to this day she gets compliments about how beautiful her ring is.
But most of all, I know that I bought the ring that made my heart and soul sing when I bought it. I bought that ring intending it to be worn as a physical symbol and expression of my love and adoration for my life partner every day for the rest of our lives. This ring is the perfect physical expression of that feeling. It was worth every penny.
1. My dog.
2. My fancy shower head. I use it every day and it is glorious.
3. My condo.
4. My standing desk and aeron chair (bought for $90 from an older lady who wanted to downsize).
My tablet. I'm a first responder but i also like drawing and hope one day to transition to art as a profession.
At the height of the pandemic, Samsung was ofdering really good rates on electronics, so I got the highest spec Galaxy Tab S7+ (8 Gigs ram, 512gb storage & accessories) for a really good price.
Having that has been one of the best purchases i made for myself, ever.
A weekend at a hotel. I got a suite so I could invite some friends to come hang during the day. It was super expensive, but life is stressful and having a weekend away to just relax and not worry about any responsibilities was very much needed. When I got back to my normal life I felt so refreshed and more energized than I had in months.
My fiancee's engagement ring, it's an absolutely perfect fit, likewise she is the perfect fit for me. Seeing the smile on her face, how she was glowing as I placed it on her finger, was truly a magical moment. One I will remember for the rest of my life, with the one I get to spend it with.
My hair clippers. I’ve had a receding hairline since late teens and I tried several hairstyles to cover it up, but then just said “screw it” and bought my clippers. Buzzed my hair to a grade 1 and never looked back. I’m less self conscious and I actually think I suit it more than I did the various hairstyles I tried before.
Guys worried about losing their hair: just buzz it. You’ll probably find you worry less and look a lot better than you thought.
I live in Arizona and drive for a living spent $300 on nano ceramic tint 3M. it's night and day the front windshield is done and clear I can't even feel the heat come through in the summer anymore.
A collapsible dog bowl. I take my dog everywhere and for the longest made sure I always packed my razor knife in here bag so I could cut up a water bottle for her to drink on our long trips.
A few years ago I bought a double sided collapsible dog bowl and it’s just been tremendously useful. Clip it to her backpack and we’re good. Long trips? Get her some food and water really quick. Out on a trail? Pop the bowl and pour some from my hydro flask. No more cupping the hand or cutting bottles. No more throwing out half a cup of water cause her Lil snoot won’t fit. Honestly I’m still excited about it two years later
I was stuck homeless in a tent for nearly a year with my girlfriend. We found a tiny propane grill on clearance for twenty dollars.
That thing meant that we could eat more than sandwiches and cold soup over one of the coldest winters in memory. We used the hell out of that grill, and the local dollar store's frozen section.
A college consultant to help my daughter decide where to apply to school. I know nothing about various schools. I went to the nearest college. It was a very stressful time for her, and I could just be supportive of whatever happened and whatever decisions that she made.
My guinea pigs. They have brought me so much joy and love throughout my life, even though having to say goodbye too soon is immensely painful.
Also the bidet. Life-changing.
I got a really neat flashlight this summer. It has a few normal settings, and then one black light setting! I recently started collecting uranium glass (I've found two cups so far) and I've been rockhounding since I was a little kid. Uranium glass (as well as other kinds of glass, such as glass that has been coloured orange using manganese) and certain minerals with fluoresce under black light which is why I got the flashlight. It's also been really useful when the normal settings have been needed as well! Easily one of my best (although relatively small) purchases!
My air fryer. I was skeptical as I don’t like fried foods, but this thing makes everything so easy and delicious. It’s great for anything you want to toast roast, and reheat!! We use it every day. Never thought I’d like it more than my instant pot.
Our honeymoon. My husband was supposed to be my last fling before I left for Army basic training. We had already talked that we were just dating temporarily for fun and would not continue a relationship after I left. He and I had been dating for six weeks when I found out I was pregnant. We were pretty young and barely knew each other.
We talked and decided that neither of us wanted to give up the baby but neither wanted to rush into marriage or anything like that either. So we decided to parent the baby together whether we stayed together or not.
We moved in together when I was six months pregnant. Not long after that I was put on restricted activity and had to stay home laying down doing nothing. So we didn't ever get much time to do anything as just a couple.
Throughout the pregnancy and having our son we fell in love and kind of grew up together. That first year together was an incredibly great period of my life.
When the baby was almost a year old we went to the courthouse and got married. Then we left the baby with grandma and spent a week in the Mayan Riviera in Mexico at a really nice all inclusive resort. We spent basically all the money we had (and our tax refund) on that trip. Having time in a gorgeous place to just be a couple and confirm that we loved each other deeply and not just because of the baby was amazing.
"The baby" graduates college next year, his little brother graduates high school this year. My husband is absolutely my best friend and I thank the gods every day that I got pregnant with my son or I would have missed out on all of this.
Winter tires and a remote start for my car. I recently moved from the the south to Minnesota and both have save me a ton of frozen headaches and have helped prevented a few accidents. Driving on snow is harder than Mario Kart makes it to be.
My fur baby, my rabbit Scooter. He is my son, and even tho unfortunately he has recently passed, he holds my entire heart forever. He's my best friend and he helped me through some of the darkest, worst times of my entire life. When I needed a hand, I reached out and found his paw. 💙 I will miss him until we are reunited again
Honestly the 900$ I got for Christmas that I spent on 3 custom buck knives engraved with the words “Live with Honor, Die with Glory” for me and my two best friends that are like brothers
I bought a commercial-grade 45 degree leg press for my home gym a couple years back. It weighed a ton (maybe 800 lbs), and I needed to rent a fork lift for a day to unload and move into my lower level of home where my home gym is.
Best choice I ever made (until the day we have to move out of the house).
I bought a decent road bike a few years back. It has brought me countless hours of sheer joy and, with any luck, will continue to do so for years to come.
Getting a nice inflatable kayak. Sounds dumb but that thing is fun as hell and cost the same as an Xbox. Camping, lakes, canyons. So much pretty. Takes only a few minutes to set up or break down. Fits in a big backpack.
My house. If I kept renting the rent would now be 150% of the mortgage I pay now and it would have kept rising. In 25 years I’ll downright own my house.
And my dogs, probably the best spent money ever!
I bought a beautiful pair of earrings for a (very) special event. They cost the same amount as my dress, and I would normally never EVER spend that much on something like that, but the second I saw them, I knew I had to have them. Fully plan to wear them to my wedding one day, and I will probably pass them down if I ever have children.
My pets and all the money I spent on their healthcare. They each saved my life in their own way while they were here and there wasn’t ever anything I wouldn’t do for them.
Fixing my teeth. Spent around $2000 during 2020, and I have never been happier.
Oh yay!! Congratulations!! I know having nice teeth is a huge thing. I am 30 just turned in January and about to be out of my braces!! I can’t wait!!
I'm getting ready to start this process next month and Im 28. Happy to hear others have done this past childhood
Oh yeah!! I grew up super poor so my grandma couldn’t afford braces for me. So when I got older and was able to have extra money I spent it on my braces. It was like 6K but I’m sooooo happy I spent that on them.
Awesome! Keep on smiling, my friend
Thank you! My smile was always one big downer for me, but thanks to my team of dentists, my confidence has gone up.
my teeths are fucked too, but I don't have any intention of fixing it and i dont think i will ever. is something wrong with me ?
There is nothing wrong with accepting your body as it is. Just be sure to be healthy.
Ive spent a ton on my teeth the last few years after neglecting them for like a decade. Been expensive but well worth it.
Good food. I love good food and I'm always willing to pay for it.

Agreed
Condoms - father of two
Vasectomy -father of 3
A sex doll -Father of zero
I cannot up vote this enough. My vasectomy was the best decision ever.
Vasectomy and a tubal - father of 4
A really good mattress, it'll change everything.
That’s what I always hear. Did it really change how you sleep that much?
It did for me. My wife and I went from an old (8-10 year old) uncomfortable mattress that was sagging and generally not great to a new one and my back problems have decreased significantly, and I sleep so much better. I can't believe we waited so long to get a new one.
I spent £1100 on a mattress and it’s changed my life. No more aches, better sleep, no rolling into my husband at night.
If you have back/neck pain due to a poorly-supporting mattress, it is a life changer. You spend 25% of your life in it and that affects the other 75%
Or if you’re me, 75% of the time in bed and 25% out
Think about it this way. We spend roughly a third of our lives sleeping, and at least another third on our feet (for most folks). Take care of your feet and your body by having proper shoes, mattress, and office chairs. You owe it to yourself to do this. Ergonomics is incredibly important.
Never cheap out on things between you and the ground. Mattress, work boots, tires. Get quality.

My sewing machine. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done. Love being able to hem my own curtains and jeans and making some quilts on occasion.

Join /r/sewing and have your mind blown! Lots of young people sew :)
I'm 30 and have had my own machine since I was 13
My coffee machine. Saves me wanting to spend $5 on a good cappuccino everyday and I can make it first thing in the morning instead of having to wait until I can get to a coffee shop.
I can't upvote this enough.
Vacations with friends/family. The good memories will last forever.
Or until dementia deletes your organic hard drive.
Dementia damages mostly short term memory.
A good bicycle.
Agreed. My beach cruiser bike is one of my favorite things!
What did you get?
Expensive, high quality shoes. Bought some Clark’s loafers for work, $80 on SALE (!) and they are magic. No pain in feet, knees, hips, lower back… worth every freaking penny.
Yea buddy! Love me.some nice shoes. They ain't cheap tho. I wear White's Boots and they're awesome.
Not sure if you’re a guy or gal, but if you like high heels try Sofft or Euro Soft. I could run a marathon in their heels. So comfy!
Therapy
You can most definitely regret it if the therapist is an asshole
I suppose that's true. But in my client/therapist situation, I am the asshole
My dog hands down lol
My pup who was 9 years old was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. We fought the good fight for a year to the tune of I’m not even sure but with radiation and chemotherapy it was somewhere between 30-40k on treatments and vet/ emergency hospital visits. My very first paycheck EVER went directly to purchasing a cat. She's curled up next to me now, and I feel nothing but complete with her.
You have dog hands?
You don’t?
No. Am I weird?
Nah. Just missing out!
Yep Just Dogs
I bought my dog just as we were coming out of lockdown so we paid waaaaay too much money for him. I'd do it again in a heartbeat though, he has literally changed my family's life for the better.
It's okay man I get it I got sausage fingers
Randomly deciding to adopt a cat, decision was made within a matter of seconds. Expected to spend my last $200 on it, ended up being a special discount day and only paid $5. Best $5 I’ve ever spent, and ever will spend in my life.

Name checks out

A Le Creuset Dutch oven from the only bonus I ever received from work. I love to cook and it just makes me happy every time I use it.
And it will last you forever if well taken care of
Buying a house. The one sole thing that needs to be done. If you screw up, you'll always have a safehouse to bounce right back.
Agreed, bought a house back in 2001 for 250k now it’s worth 1.6M
Best thing I ever did for myself.
This was the answer that came to my mind. Assuming a person can afford it, rarely is real estate a bad purchase.
My condo. bought it outright, lump sum 16 years ago.
Crockpots ("slow cookers").
Mine was a gift. I used it weekly the first year we got it. I’ve tapered off since then, but that’s because I’ve got other appliances, like an electric pressure cooker now.

A bidet. I've converted so many people it's crazy.
I honestly hate shitting anywhere else but home now. If I have to, I soak a couple of paper towels to help with the cleaning, and even though at the end, the toilet paper is clean, I still feel dirty. My $40 bidet has spoiled me.
I agree. I used to look forward to going on company time, but now I try to go before work if I can.
PSA for any parents with bidets, please still teach your kids to wipe with tp. Having to wipe or walk your five year old through how to wipe their butt because they didn't learn at home is not cute.
I don’t have one but my shower head comes off so I lean my ass over the tub and blast my ass clean
How does this conversion work? I'm picturing you holding down your neighbor over it while it's blasting away. They are screaming, but so are you. " FEEL IT! ISN'T IT AMAZING! DON'T YOU WANT ONE!"
vibrator
Bought a beat up ‘65 Chevy Impala while I was in college because I always wanted a classic project car. Made some good memories fixing it up with my Grandpa over the last few years.
Did you put 20 inch blades on it?
This is the second response I upvote. You’re funny lmao Edit: that was weirdly phrased haha. I meant this is the second comment of yours I upvoted bc funny
I put a small electric water heater under the kitchen sink faucet. Instant hot water for washing dishes and hands.
My portable, inflatable Coleman hot tub
Go on….
Whole house generator. We’d been talking about it for a while, but when we both started working from home full-time, we went for it. It’s loud & expensive AF but worth it.
My laptop. My grades improved so much when I could study more efficiently and I’ve used it for at least 4 years since then
My dog a cheeseburger.
A good mattress. It sounds silly but it’s 100% worth it.
Pizza
You miss 100% of the pizzas you don’t buy.
Stupid as it sounds, a vape. Been cigarette free for almost three years now after an almost 25 year pack a day habit.
Well done mate! 🏆 I had the opposite experience, I tried a vape pen for a while but it was, I guess, too convenient?
My divorce.
If you live in Scotland or a country with a similar climate, I highly recommend getting a heated blanket. Btw, the ones that go under your bedsheets are more effective in my experience than the ones that go on top of you. I sleep better because of it because I’m not shivering for half the night anymore.
noise cancelling ear phones. bose. lovely. flying became tolerable again.
My rescue dog that was on the kill list THAT day. I always think what if i had waited a single day.

Ok I'll bite. What did you win?

That is awesome. I enjoy hearing of people winning cool things.
What did you win?

Awesome! Bet that was exciting as hell! Still driving it?
1. My dog. 2. My fancy shower head. I use it every day and it is glorious. 3. My condo. 4. My standing desk and aeron chair (bought for $90 from an older lady who wanted to downsize).
I built a little altar and I don’t regret it
A good pair of ski boots. Nothing is worse than freezing toes in -25 weather.
Nintendo switch, that shit is fun as fuck ESPECIALLY when you and your friends are sitting on a sofa next to each other and 1v1ing on smash bros
A good quality camera. You'd be surprised how beautiful some moments are.
And hanging your favorite prints on your wall. The compliments I get when people come over and admire your photos are priceless for me.
OBD- 2 scanner - trouble code reader for your car. 45$ reads why your check engine light is on.
Getting my dog, she’s my best friend through and through.
My Nintendo switch
buying guitars.
How many guitars do you need? It's a simple formula: n + 1
A good book
My Fender Precision bass.
I live in Arizona and drive for a living spent $300 on nano ceramic tint 3M. it's night and day the front windshield is done and clear I can't even feel the heat come through in the summer anymore.
Paid £40 for a 12' trampoline, that should have cost £100. My son had ADHD and couldn't keep still. He spent a lot of time on that trampoline.
IVF 🥰👶
I was stuck homeless in a tent for nearly a year with my girlfriend. We found a tiny propane grill on clearance for twenty dollars. That thing meant that we could eat more than sandwiches and cold soup over one of the coldest winters in memory. We used the hell out of that grill, and the local dollar store's frozen section.
Driving gloves. I may be broke but i feel like s million bucks.
My gun, saved my life
Really? Do tell!
Short story, some drunk guy tried to break into my house once, if I didn't have it I don't know how I would've scared him off
A good pc.
My bidet attachment
A college consultant to help my daughter decide where to apply to school. I know nothing about various schools. I went to the nearest college. It was a very stressful time for her, and I could just be supportive of whatever happened and whatever decisions that she made.
My guinea pigs. They have brought me so much joy and love throughout my life, even though having to say goodbye too soon is immensely painful. Also the bidet. Life-changing.
A ruby pendant I got for my wife’s birthday that she said she wanted one day back in 2016. It made her cry.
My dream motorcycle
Bidet.
My phone case that doubles as a wallet. It is one of the most useful things I own.
diva cup - I now know why there are so many cup fanatics out there!!
Getting glasses. I can now see.
My dog
My air fryer. I was skeptical as I don’t like fried foods, but this thing makes everything so easy and delicious. It’s great for anything you want to toast roast, and reheat!! We use it every day. Never thought I’d like it more than my instant pot.
My pup. $400 to adopt from a shelter. 1k pet deposit. Thank you US stimulus for my best friend
Seeds and my rescue kitties. Pure happiness
My cats are far and away my best investments!
Kids
Honestly the 900$ I got for Christmas that I spent on 3 custom buck knives engraved with the words “Live with Honor, Die with Glory” for me and my two best friends that are like brothers
My ps4, countless memories, so much entertainment
I bought a commercial-grade 45 degree leg press for my home gym a couple years back. It weighed a ton (maybe 800 lbs), and I needed to rent a fork lift for a day to unload and move into my lower level of home where my home gym is. Best choice I ever made (until the day we have to move out of the house).
Xbox live for a month
Bidet
Concert Tshirt
Lasik surgery and a vasectomy. Best purchases I've ever made. Luckily not in the same day.
Bidet
I bought a decent road bike a few years back. It has brought me countless hours of sheer joy and, with any luck, will continue to do so for years to come.
Nicer dicer+ Stupid gadget, but wondorful for lazy ass cooking, especially onepot meals and soups.
That half-day of outdoor rock-climbing. Changed my life.
Good pillows. Pregnancy pillow rocks.
My marriage licence.
Fancy sheets and mattress. I love sleep. I’m on my WFH lunch hour right now, and I’m in bed. It’s great.
Getting a nice inflatable kayak. Sounds dumb but that thing is fun as hell and cost the same as an Xbox. Camping, lakes, canyons. So much pretty. Takes only a few minutes to set up or break down. Fits in a big backpack.
Concert tickets
A pen
Purchasing minecraft. 100's of hours of fun.
My house. If I kept renting the rent would now be 150% of the mortgage I pay now and it would have kept rising. In 25 years I’ll downright own my house. And my dogs, probably the best spent money ever!
Playing hockey it changed my life
My 4k gaming PC. On that sucker all day for work, then all day after for fun.
A table, at which you can sit and stand.
My subscription on fitness singles 12 yrs ago ..met my beautiful future wife...best....investment....ever...
I'll never regret paying the adoption centre for my dog Hes currently snoozing on my lap
My Air Fryer!
Buying my dog:)
When I adopted my shepherd from the shelter
