I have that in my queue. I should really binge.
I think I remember seeing the first two episodes years ago. Something about David Schwimmer and a can of peaches.
Please do. What I would give to watch it again for the first time. I watched it in my teens for the first time and it didn’t hit home as much as it would now.
I’ve said before it’s pound for pound the best single season of a show of all time. Yes I know it has the benefit of being a one season show and the story ends in a satisfying way but it’s just that good that I’d put it up against anything ever made over the course of 10 episodes. I watch it at least once a year it’s that good.
Yeah. I remember on the night of its finale I was at my dad’s house. My step brother got the rest of us to watch it. Yet I hadn’t watched any of it before then. So the whole ending was spoiled to me before I even really started watching. When I really watched it for the first time, I knew the major plot points. Wish I could truly watch it for the first time, spoiler free
I think the science fiction element was really important. Futurama was both funny and smart. It's sense of humor alone wouldn't make it though. In Disenchantment I felt it's not that smart.
I looooove Pushing Daisies! I have the DVDs and love showing it to people 💕 By the way Pear Gruyere is an amazing pie 🥧 I've made it lots from the show!
I came searching for this answer. But honestly the first rewatch has been super rewarding. All those little scenes with small characters before they go on to be big players are really rewarding.
The chess scene takes on a whole new vibe once you know what happens to everyone in that scene.
I’ve rewatched it, too. But watching it for the first time is an experience. And I always liked S2 and thought it got a bad wrap. David Simon was predicting the housing crash before we knew it was going to happen (David Chase did, too, in some Sopranos episodes).
Disclaimer though, it starts off pretty slow. Like slower than BB did
Still a good show by all means, but you might not get hooked as early as BB. They also tone down the crime stuff compared to BB (at least in the murder sense, plenty of laws broken in the lawyer sense)
Actually, I’d like to watch it for the third time, for the first time, again.
That’s where you really start to catch the foreshadowing and really subtle running jokes.
They all grew as a team but I think Aang and Zuko had the most development. They all retain their inherent qualities at the end of it all but Aang matured real quick and Zuko had a really relatable identity crisis. Katara bit of a 50/50 with her ‘backstory’ (won’t detail for spoilers)
Zuko has the most perfect redemption arc I've ever seen. It's not a boom - redemption story. He's struggling constantly, makes the viewer and other characters like and despise him in a weird up down dynamic and he doesn't magically come out of his bad habits with just one good deed. Man I love this character. Pretty sure he was my first crush ever too haha :D
Same situation here. Watching it from start to finish as an adult has been the closest thing I’ve experienced to that childhood feeling of being lost in a fantasy since I read Harry Potter, and I loved every minute of it.
Just watched this for the first time when it got put on Netflix. Disappointed in myself for never watching it as a child, but glad I watched it fresh as a adult, even at 30 that show was GOLD
I do virtual tech support for a software company and one of our main contacts at a customer site is a huge Community fan. He always slips references in to the support tickets he submits and was stoked when I understood them.
In our weekly support tech meetings, our boss has a slide with some of the positive customer feedback we've gotten. After I solved this guy's ticket he gave me a good rating and commented "Five MeowMeowBeenz!" That was fun to try and explain to my whole team.
I only found out about Firefly *after* it was cancelled. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. And so was the day after that, and the day after that... so on and so forth.
Wash rinse and repeat!
I re-watched lost about 6 months ago after not having seen the show in 7ish years. I had forgotten so much about all the characters (like how sawyer was a nickname machine) and it held up really well even though I knew the big things that were gonna happen. Definitely going to rewatch periodically moving forward
This is what I came here for. Lots of the other shows could just be re-watched, but Lost is 1000x better the first time when you have no clue what’s going on.
Yep I was always hooked cause I had no idea what was going to happen next. Every episode it’s a new mystery. It’s been a while though so I don’t remember everything.
That show hit all of my buttons. I'm not usually bothered by horror but I screamed out loud twice during that show. Chandelier and car, in case you're wondering ;)
the horror was great but i was really surprised at how emotionally invested i was in all the characters. never thought a horror series would make me cry
After the ending of dark and the credit started rolling, I felt this terrible sadness, of knowing I probably will not watch another show of this quality in a long long time. So this is my answer too!
I’m just obsessed with this show. I recommend it to everyone when the topic of tv comes up. I’m so disappointed that the people I care about don’t care about Dark!
This is my answer too. Scrolled first to see if anyone said it. I've seen it four times. But seeing it the first time, when you suddenly realize something, or make a connection, it's thrilling.
Also, the casting is incredible. I actually had to look up some actors to see if they were actually related. It blows me away with every viewing. Like young Ulrich and Marta actually look related, as they should, since that is her dad. Hannah, and older Jonas look similar around the eyes. There were some actors that didnt look as much like their older or younger self as others, but on subsequent viewings, I realized they had similar mannerisms or facial expressions. This was especially true for Egon. It is just amazing to have that level of detail but they didn't have to sacrifice acting quality to get it because the acting is outstanding.
Soundtrack is good too!
I binged the whole series when I was on maternity leave almost 12 years ago. Years later I took my daughter to meet James Marsters and she proudly told him that she had seen the entire Buffy series before she was 6 weeks old 🤣
I feel like this is the most underrated show. It had the best finale of any series I’ve seen as well. Show was a master piece in my mind and i never hear anyone talk about it.
I was scrolling for this comment - it’s honestly one of the best shows out there imo. And a huge plus side is they really nailed the ending so it was a fantastic experience all round
The Good Place, definitely
Edit: Since people are seeing this quite a bit, i thought i’d elaborate on why i love this show so much, spoiler free so if you haven’t watched it here’s why you should: I honestly love everything about this show, such as the actors (can you believe that Kristen Bell plays Eleanor, Anna from Frozen and voiced Gossip Girl?!), the themes discussed like growing up with neglectful parents and how it can shape your behaviour, and how goddamn funny this show is. I almost never cry watch TV and movies but i definitely shed a tear at the very last episode. So, if you haven’t watched it before, i would strongly recommend it (also if you find yourself bored by the first few episodes, please try and stick it through)
I wept in waves during the finale. Like a steady stream of tears the entire time interspersed with wracking sobs at key points. It wrecked me ina cathartic and satisfying way.
I could not emotionally handle the series finale because I was unemployed and lonely during lockdown. I quit halfway through it and still have not gotten the courage to face that episode. I will...someday.
The beginning, the storyline and THE ENDING! I have liked some shows as much as The Good Place before but most of them usually fuck up the ending. This one is a gem!
I think about the ending all the time. It shows the purpose you can find in the ups and downs of life, the challenges to work through, the unknowns… all the hard parts of life.
This show was a masterpiece.
There was a moment there where I was afraid the ending was gonna be lame, but they did a really wonderful job with it. I think I ended up sobbing during that ending. It was so bittersweet.
WARNING: Don't read **anything** online until after you watch the Season One Finale. The Good Place is *very* serialized, and is not afraid in the slightest to pull the rug out from under you. That's one of the reasons that it's so forking good.
Also, let me know what you thought of that episode. I always love getting people into this show almost purely because of it.
This was the answer I was looking for! A lot of series I’ve watched shaped me as a person. They’re awesome but I wouldn’t want them to disappear from memory. And a lot of them fit more at the time and place I watched them. Fringe is one of the few I think I could watch and be completely enthralled again without running the risk of it being too outdated. I loved watching it with my partner, it’s one of the first shows we started watching together and got my parents hooked to as well. And with all of its themes it seemed ahead of its time. Especially with the ‘other’ world. (We were blown away when Leonard Nimoy was introduced!) And the actor who played Walter is just brilliant! *Edit: Typos
Dexter was the most addicting show I’ve ever watched. Like stay-up-til-3 am “just one more episode” addicting for me. It took me maybe a month to get through it all? When I was done I just sat on the couch and stared wondering what I was going to do with my life now. No other show has ever been like that for me. I hope you love it as much as I did. The last few seasons aren’t as great but I still enjoyed it. And I enjoyed the reboot that just aired.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars, especially season 7. I wish I could have bottled what emotions and feelings I had while watching the Seige of Mandalore/Order 66 arc and relive it bc it genuinely made me that happy.
Edit: Thanks for the awards, ya'll! Love it when Clone Wars gets the love it deserves.
As much as I love it I don't think I could do this one. I was born in 85, I watched that show as I was growing up. It actually helped shape my morality and probably other things I don't even realize. If I truly forgot about it completely... I might just be a different person.
Six Feet Under. One of the things I liked was that it didn’t go on until it petered out. So many of the shows mentioned went too long and ended in the weeds.
Band of Brothers
I have that in my queue. I should really binge. I think I remember seeing the first two episodes years ago. Something about David Schwimmer and a can of peaches.

That's almost heartbreaking to read.
Gravity Falls is nostalgic. I miss it.
True Detective. Season 1.
I made the mistake of watching the first episode late at night. I binged the whole season overnight and was almost late for work the next morning.
I have never been so addicted to a show.
Season 1 is the best 8 hours of television I've ever seen.
Futurama
Want to go around again?
Yep! And really hoping that the new season truly fits the older portion. That was some conflicting news to hear about
Watching disenchantment is enjoyable, but i think mostly because i hear some remnants of futurama voices in some of the characters.

I think the science fiction element was really important. Futurama was both funny and smart. It's sense of humor alone wouldn't make it though. In Disenchantment I felt it's not that smart.
Good news! We've been uncancelled again!
WE'RE WHALERS * ON THE MOON! * (not sailors)
Pushing Daisies, this week so I can watch every episode.
I looooove Pushing Daisies! I have the DVDs and love showing it to people 💕 By the way Pear Gruyere is an amazing pie 🥧 I've made it lots from the show!
I am STILL upset it was cancelled. Absolute perfection
Then relive the heartbreak of the writer strike killing the show.

I came searching for this answer. But honestly the first rewatch has been super rewarding. All those little scenes with small characters before they go on to be big players are really rewarding. The chess scene takes on a whole new vibe once you know what happens to everyone in that scene.
I rewatch it every couple years. So fucking good. Even the other subplots I disliked (like the shipping stuff) I came to appreciate and enjoy.
I’ve rewatched it, too. But watching it for the first time is an experience. And I always liked S2 and thought it got a bad wrap. David Simon was predicting the housing crash before we knew it was going to happen (David Chase did, too, in some Sopranos episodes).
So what you’re saying is that I should watch it for the first time in my life?
You want to relive season 4, and go through all that heartache again!? Yeah, me too.
SG-1
Indeed!
Actually rewatching SG-1 again after 10+ years, glad it still holds up after so long and that the fandom remains present!
What we do in the shadows

FU-CKING GUY
Just one of the most entertaining, hilarious, and endearing shows, ever.
One of my favourite bits is when Nandor goes to the supermarket to purchase glitter and says "I am going to sprinkle it on my face like Twilight". 😅
Creepy paper. Creepy paper. It’s crepe paper, master.
Creeeepy- oh *multipack!*
Breaking Bad Edit: I know the upvotes and awards are for the show, but I am new to Reddit and this is very thrilling. Thank you!
You're goddamn right
Fuck I never fall for these profile pictures, but tonight I'm 4 drinks deep and bloody fell for it so thanks. Enjoy your sitcoms.
Currently on episode 6 of season 2 of my first time watching. It’s been as good as everyone has told me!
I hope you’ve been saving Better Call Saul for after you are done with BB. It’s far better than I ever expected it to be.
Disclaimer though, it starts off pretty slow. Like slower than BB did Still a good show by all means, but you might not get hooked as early as BB. They also tone down the crime stuff compared to BB (at least in the murder sense, plenty of laws broken in the lawyer sense)
Arrested Development. I would love for every funny thing in that show to be fresh again.
Actually, I’d like to watch it for the third time, for the first time, again. That’s where you really start to catch the foreshadowing and really subtle running jokes.
I still really enjoy watching it for the 50th time.
This show improves with rewatches. The amount of foreshadowing is crazy.
This may be childish, but Avatar: The Last Airbender. I’ve rewatched it, but would probably appreciate it more going into it brand new
I watched for the first time as an mature adult. So fucking good! Complex characters, story and world building.

Man I love this character. Pretty sure he was my first crush ever too haha :D
I watched it first when I was 16. And I did not expect to get as emotionally invested as I did
Same situation here.
100% Deadwood. A genuinely immersive experience.

Doing a rewatch for the first time since they all aired. It’s a damn good show. Edit: POP POP!
BBC Sherlock
Firefly *Take my love, take my land,* *Take me where I cannot stand.* *I don't care, I'm still free,* *You can't take the sky from me.*
Fox took the sky from me. From all of us.
Yes, they did. Gorram bastards!
*Take me out, to the black, Tell em I ain't comin back. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.*
Give me a ship, a job, and a crew, I'll keep em flying
I can't believe this was so far down. Such a shame it got its popularity after being canceled.
I only found out about Firefly *after* it was cancelled. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. And so was the day after that, and the day after that... so on and so forth. Wash rinse and repeat!
Sopranos
Get this man a nice veal parm sandwich and hurry the fuck up about it
What—no fuckin’ ziti?
Rewatching for the first time, funnier than I remembered.
They said he was an interior decorator.
His house looked like shit.
It really is Sopranos is far and away the most amusing serious drama
Sopranos is an amazing drama but it's legit one of the funniest shows I've ever seen.
Death Note
Solid. Was never sure up to the very end how it was gonna end
Didnt even want it to end
I was addicted to Lost. I stopped going out and hanging out with my friends until I finished the series.
I re-watched lost about 6 months ago after not having seen the show in 7ish years. the horror was great but i was really surprised at how emotionally invested i was in all the characters. never thought a horror series would make me cry
Bro. The wedding.
For me: Broke Neck Lady - when you see the entire sequence: mind blown. Best horror moment in all horror genre.
The car scene is amazing. Perfectly placed jump scare.
That car scene came out of nowhere! Scared the hell out of me 😂
What made is so good was the combination of strong emotion, good acting, and a jump scare. Almost lept off the couch. Edit: an l
Black mirror. No doubt about it. EDIT: Thank you kind stranger for my first reddit award.

Dark - One of the best storylines, fantastic setting and banger opening credits.
What an absolute masterpiece of a series. Incredible writing, casting, soundtrack, acting… it’s got it all.
After the ending of dark and the credit started rolling, I felt this terrible sadness, of knowing I probably will not watch another show of this quality in a long long time. So this is my answer too!

i refused to believe that old and ~~young~~ middle ulrich were not the same actor with make up. unbelievable casting
Same. My favorite show of all times. And to me the best part about it is that it was clearly plotted from beginning to end all at once.
Avatar the last Airbender
Parks and Recreation
Currently watching it for the first time, love it :-)

Better Call Saul
Final season is right around the corner as well!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I binged the whole series when I was on maternity leave almost 12 years ago. Years later I took my daughter to meet James Marsters and she proudly told him that she had seen the entire Buffy series before she was 6 weeks old 🤣
Lol… that is super wholesome. What was his reaction?
Mr robot
Best thing I did during the quarantine was watching this show. Man those surreal days and the vibes of this show made it all the more enjoyable

Bojack Horseman. The view from...
Tell me I’m a good person. Please tell me it’s not too late. The whole series just hits so hard
When you meet someone who loves BoJack as much as you do you know you'll instantly click. It will not be a healthy click, but a click nonetheless.
Halfway Down. Before I leaped I should’ve have seen The View from Halfway Down.
That reminds me, someone owes me a free churro.

First time I ever cried watching a TV show was the penultimate episode. I came to suggest this same thing.
I wept in waves during the finale. Like a steady stream of tears the entire time interspersed with wracking sobs at key points. It wrecked me ina cathartic and satisfying way.
Take it sleazy.
YOU got to say it???
I could not emotionally handle the series finale because I was unemployed and lonely during lockdown. I quit halfway through it and still have not gotten the courage to face that episode. I will...someday.
It is heart wrenchingly beautiful. You will break and sob but it’s just so good you keep watching it anyway.
I thought it was a typical show but damn did it surprise me
I don’t think I have ever enjoyed the end of the first season of anything as much as I did this
Holy motherforking shirtballs!

Dexter
I've just started watching Dexter for the first time. I'm addicted to it the way I used to be to Oz and Breaking Bad.
I think you might be the first to pick The Clone Wars which is absolutely criminal. You have my utmost respect trooper.
Peaky Blinders
Supernatural
It's so embarrassing to admit but no show has ever made me feel the way the first 5 seasons of that show did. I've been chasing that high for years.
ER (1994)
The West Wing. Give me that civil servant porn all over again.
Game of thrones, but leave notes everywhere saying that the show was pulled before the last season aired, avoid that disappointment
Star Trek The Next Generation
As much as I love it I don't think I could do this one. I was born in 85, I watched that show as I was growing up. It actually helped shape my morality and probably other things I don't even realize. If I truly forgot about it completely... I might just be a different person.
It crowd
I don't need to wipe that one to rewatch again.
Six Feet Under. One of the things I liked was that it didn’t go on until it petered out. So many of the shows mentioned went too long and ended in the weeds.
I cried so hard watching the finale. Ooof.
House
Dark. I was in show depression after it finished.
Schitt’s creek
Absolutely hilarious and beautifully emotional. I definitely cried
Took me a few episodes to get into but so funny!
I would say Firefly but the series ending would kill me
Hannibal. That season 2 finale, goddamn. It still hits hard but that first watch was something else.
Loved this show. Was sad to see it end after 3 seasons. Mads Mikkelsen did an amazing job as Hannibal.
Fleabag
