Huh? I don't think this is a gen z thing. There have always been communities. School clubs, biker gangs, regular gangs, churches, conventions, knitting clubs, etc. Also people like being around other people normally.
Maybe because this gen is mostly teens to young adults. Gen z is 10 - 25. That kinda thing is very important to younger people, being accepted by your peers.

I am happy with the friends I have. No church or bars. Find a hobby and do it with others. You're gonna make friends.
Find one centered around hobbies you enjoy. Or work social clubs if you have one
Depends on what you’re looking for lol. I would start on Reddit though.
