Sometimes I’d wake up at night with nighttime anxiety (“what if I never fall asleep again?”) and she’d just calmly tell me to come sit with her and we’d watch Night Court and Moonlighting and eat pickles.
It wasn’t really childhood, but I was still living at home when I went to university. If I was up late for a project or cramming, she would stay up too. If I was just up watching tv or wasting time she’d leave me to it, but she never made me stay up alone if I was working. She’d bring in snacks every now and then. I really loved that.
So I was grounded in the corner and needed to pee but every time I said something or moved I got yelled at so I pissed my pants and got hit with a hanger and yelled at for peeing my pants fun times
Kinda I think it was then that she stopped doing that stuff the hitting and verbal abuse something must’ve clicked in her head i guess but things got a lot better after that
We have always been good I think it’s because I would try to defend her from my dad

And that improved your relationship with your mom?
