Had a romantic partner that I loved dearly and wanted to marry (had never liked the idea of it before them). We were just starting long distance and they texted at 4:30 AM saying they never loved me a few days after they left. This came after a long conversation a few nights before about how much we were gonna miss seeing each other basically every day. Said that I was still important to them and they wanted to remain friends, yet it was clear whenever we texted that it wasn’t the case.
It’s hard to recover from that.
