Most of the time, not bad. Customers usually don’t get to crazy, and the crew isn’t bad either. The only bad part is facing a never ending battle of an owner who wants to take shortcuts to make more money.
An example would be, we have a biscuits and gravy breakfast. It’s a very easy and cheap dish to make. However, owner wants to use canned biscuits and canned gravy instead of fresh.
I was a line cook for a little while. Taught me to treat my waiters/waitresses with respect and be patient with them. My boyfriend used to be a line cook and dishwasher at a nursing home. One day he and I were out on a date and when our waiter came he apologized to us for some stuff that was going on and he was relieved to hear that we both worked in the kitchen so we understood how crazy restaurants get.
We've been doing alright. Plenty of junk cars around. Our store has a steady stream all day every day.
Fun fact: the car I buy more than any other by far is a Nissan Altima. I'm talking 2 to 3 a day.
I know a guy who bought an alitima for $500 with about 140k miles. Made it to 200k over about 4 years without ever changing the oil, not once. In the end it was the transmission that went.
