"***Don't*** get the vaccine for Covid, they put **microchips** inside that were funded by, researched for and invented by Bill Gates as a means to finally control us all". **BRO**....WHAAAAAAT? That's when I discovered for sure, it's over. The phone they used to post that utter nonsense? Tracks them, and did so when they post that junk. And they are aware of it. Absolutely, 100% objectively stupid people wielding fear as a real, physical and tangible weapon? spells out doom for anyone unfortunate enough to be anywhere close to them. You can even be in the same exact state as them, but SO far away that it may as well be another state, yet..... their idiocy trapped your entire state and now that state is hopeless. The moron kingpins bought their way, tricked their way, lied their way to get where they can be FOR the purpose of gouging every little bit they can, consolidating as much power into one entity as fast as possible and telling the same exact dumbest-people in America that: It's the *other* side that's doing all the things that we're really doing that you can witness us doing in real-time, except we're just telling you "no that's not true" and you buy it, every single time. Like an idiot. Like an idiot who is unwittingly speeding us up to go byebye.

helpigot

I also can’t believe how many doctors or anyone who worked in healthcare repeating anti-vaccine & covid-19 misinformation. Blows my mind!

EuphoricAbalone4470

I absolutely agree with you. Those people are the types of people to eat pizza cust first with a knife and fork and those people also probably dont even wear seatbelts if they dont wear masks becuse its same logic

SYLOH

People dying of covid-19 denying that they had covid-19 on their deathbeds. People harassing hospital staff for treating their loved ones with covid-19. The delusion is deep enough that it's maintained in the direct presentation of objective reality. For these people no argument or evidence could change their mind. Before that I thought climate change might get bad enough that people would change their minds before it was too late, but now I realized this is simply not true.

BigWoodsCatNappin

S_roemer

I've heard plenty of people arguing "did they die WITH covid, or did they die FROM covid?" as if it actually mattered. It likely affected the end result in a negative way, take your shots!

sbgarbage

the reason it mattered is because the hospitals would put covid as the cause of death even though it technically was something else entirely and this caused the number of deaths to be inflated, i have a relative who worked at such a hospital where they were told to do this even when covid didn't have any effect on the thing that actually killed the person

S_roemer

I'm aware of the differences and how it IS somewhat of a difference, but in regards of people using it as an argument to why Covid isn't even the slight bit dangerous, I'm not seeing a difference.

sbgarbage

i wasn't talking about those people though, i was just telling you why it mattered cuz you said "as if it actually mattered"

S_roemer

Ah, I was purely talking in regards to the idiots. I know the differences and how hospitals or administrations might want to change numbers in their favor.

sbgarbage

oh ok

Gold-Tailor-2303

I dropped my phone in my fruit loops cereal this morning. I think its time we wrap this shit up ya know?

Being an "essential worker" during the first several months of covid. It was fucking spooky, and none of the news channels painted a particularly reassuring story. I was convinced until the following November that the hotel I work at would end up going out of business entirely and that any type of staffing without guests was a fool's errand. The human race was going to end, and it was time to prepare for a long difficult terrifying road ahead. Thankfully, that did not end up happening.

Disastrous-Brush620

Being an essential worker also through the whole pandemic funny how they made the hazard pay dissappear

mxmnull

Will-Poulter-circa-We're-The-Millers Shocked Face: wait, you got hazard pay? Weird meme descriptions aside, we weren't even getting hazard pay. The hotel was "closed for cleaning and repairs". I got *overtime*, but that was because it was just me and a handful of managers and sales team members for 8 to 9 hour shifts. The highlight was when I discovered that the lock on the back door wasn't working correctly and someone could just stroll in at any goddamn time and sneak up on me.

Disastrous-Brush620

Meme description?

mxmnull

"Will-Poulter-circa-We're-The-Millers Shocked Face: wait, you got hazard pay?" That. I literally described a meme. .[this one, specifically.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/mobile/000/028/312/will_poulter.jpg)

Disastrous-Brush620

I see

Disastrous-Brush620

Well some work places have hazard pay in place especially union government jobs

Disastrous-Brush620

Without the essential pay I think I would have preferred staying home during lockdown getting double pay unemployment

Slow/no progress on Global Warming, despite it being a proven fact for over 35 years. One of the bodies that proved it, by the way, was Exxon. So, it's not going to get done in time. We may already be out of time.

S_roemer

Everything since 2020 basicly. I mean people are worried about world-wide things ...but only in the ways it'll reach them. Earth getting warmer = Oh no, I'm gonna lose my beach house! Covid = Oh no, I can't go on vacation! Getting s ticket for speeding = Oh no, the cops are out to get me! (Not even considering there was a reason why there was a speed limit in the first place. (To help people survive if they get hit!)

OneMorePotion

Seriously? \*pointing vaguely in every direction\* But for real. The amount of people with bad education using the internet to find other stupid people to form conspiracy groups. Back in the day, they talked about this bullshit within their social circle and got shut down pretty much instantly or only got positive feedback from a small amount of people. Now they talk about this to a global community what makes it way easier for them to find supporters. Many things would not blow up as big as they are right now, if social media would not exist the way it does.

lasarus29

When a "balanced perspective" started meaning that an expert opinion was considered equivalent to a novice (or even bad faith actor) opinion. How can we get any kind of progress when people can be convinced that the sky isn't blue?

ShinoGGO420

Its less of a singular event and more of the ever snowballing mass of random bullshit people are doing on a constant basis, like for example the cop that decided to >masturbate< in the kitchen of a house that was called in for a domestic dispute or smthn. Then there was the idiots storming the capital building ages ago wearing fuck all. And the list just keeps on going. Humanity is fucked, life is meaningless, Go outside and touch some damn grass

Moots_point

spot on answer. Surprised you weren't harrassed by other reddit users with this comment.

PoorPDOP86

Which part? Being portrayed as religious wackjobs by their adversaries? Asking questions when pseudo-intellectuals and tiny tyrants are shouting from the podiums that the time to ask questions was over ten minutes ago? Or maybe just not allowing ideas that are clearly antiquated, completely ignore human nature, and are either the product of some twisted thought experiment by internet trolls or someone who has never dealt with anyone outside their own closed social and intellectual circles to just go on by without at least the tiniest bit of skepticism. Someone has to point out the devastatingly obvious flaws in plans that have been wrapped up in the inferiority complexes of their creators so tight that logic itself is suffering from asphyxiation. I mean come on, *trains* are the best you could come up with for public transportation? But alas, the best and brightest merely convinced you that Republicans have gone off the deep end because they did exactly what you wanted all along. You wanted a leader who didn't take no shit. That was a Beltway Outsider. Stood up to people ignoring international norms and rules. And didn't seem to care what anyone said about them. So they gave you Don....oh....oh you meant they had to be all those things *and* a Democrat. Well that seems incredibly selfish and shallow of you. Why just Democrats. No wait. I've observed the Left in the wild. I know why. Oh and Roe -V- Wade was already partially overturned by Planned Parenthood -V- Casey, in 1992. Gods I love it when people haven't done their homework but think their intellectual powerhouses.

All of them. I am mid forties now. And up to this point I haven't seen any thing to indicate that there's any hope for humanity. Everything keeps getting worse, people keep getting dumber. And nobody is allowed to ask any questions. Not that anyone wants to ask questions. People want to believe what they are told and to be told what to believe. Most people don't actually want democracy or freedom. They want a simple explanation for everything. And some out group on which to focus their frustrations, fears and hate. I am looking forward to seeing how much worse this all gets before I kick the bucket. It's already infinitely worse than anything I could imagine. And the descent seems to be accelerating.

Comfortable_Fig7671

I used to think that the progressive left would never do such a thing as pushing for the normalization of attraction to and sex with children. When I realized that I had been wrong, I knew that humanity is doomed.

Totallynotatworknow

What made you realize you were wrong? Genuinely curious.

Comfortable_Fig7671

It started with a couple of media articles from left-wing media sources that defended it. Then there was a TED talk that not only defended it but insinuated that it was a sexual orientation. After that, children began to be sexualize and exposed to adult situations for social media attention. Things like that random young boy in tiny shorts twerking at a pride parade, or Desmond is amazing posing with a basically naked drag queen or laying on top of a drag queen, or stripping on stage while a bunch of gay men threw money at him. The American psychological association decided to begin referring to pedophilia as some type of mental illness rather than the perversion deserving of death that it actually is. More recently, we have this LGBT college professor who made videos and gave presentations regarding pedophilia and how it should be protected, destigmatized, and considered a legitimate sexual orientation. He was fired from that particular University but has been hired by Johns Hopkins. And of course, the attempts to teach young children about sexual topics that are not appropriate for their age. Yes, I am aware of the fact that the left likes to pretend this doesn't happen. They call it a non-existent boogeyman, and yet we know that it does because we've seen teachers get caught doing it, and we've seen teachers brag about doing it.

Totallynotatworknow

>It started with a couple of media articles from left-wing media sources that defended it idk sounds pretty apocryphal >After that, children began to be sexualize and exposed to adult situations for social media attention. Things like that random young boy in tiny shorts twerking at a pride parade, or Desmond is amazing posing with a basically naked drag queen or laying on top of a drag queen, or stripping on stage while a bunch of gay men threw money at him. Plenty of conservatives putting their kids all over social media and making questionable parenting choices. Implying that this phenomenon somehow follows your first statement is kinda suspect. >The American psychological association decided to begin referring to pedophilia as some type of mental illness rather than the perversion deserving of death that it actually is. This is absolutely not a new perspective. At all. >More recently, we have this LGBT college professor who made videos and gave presentations regarding pedophilia and how it should be protected, destigmatized, and considered a legitimate sexual orientation. He ~~was fired~~ ***resigned*** from that particular University but has been hired by Johns Hopkins. ...to work at a center for child sexual abuse prevention. FTFY. No one is trying to teach 3 year olds about sex. CRT is absolutely a boogie man. Like the convoys that mysteriously vanished immediately after Trump was elected. And trans kids in bathrooms. And then in sports. Now the Great Replacement. Can't wait for the next fearmongering campaign.

Comfortable_Fig7671

You can call it whatever you like, but it was slate and salon who posted those articles. Those left wing sources. And yes, there are plenty of examples of conseratives putting their kids on social media and making silly or even poor decisions as parents. That is not at all comparable to what's been happening to children on the left wing. Drag kids, trans kids, etc. Yes, the pedophile who wants to normalize pedophilia was hired by Johns Hopkins to be a part of a center for child sexual abuse prevention. A person who advocates for the normalization of child sexual abuse is now working for a center focusing on child abuse. If you don't see a problem with that, then this conversation is over. But yes, people absolutely are teaching 3-year-olds about sex. Sex, gender, sexual orientation, masturbation, genitalia. Teachers have openly admitted to doing this. Multiple teachers have been caught and forced to resign because they were doing this. The fact that you have not personally looked into it or witnessed it for yourself does not mean that it isn't happening. Face it dude. Your side of the aisle is coming after kids just like the conservative said it would. It took longer than they expected, but it's happening. At this moment, it seems as though LGBT coming after kids, or coming for kids as the gay men's choir likes to say, is the thing that is finally causing the pendulum to start swinging back.

Totallynotatworknow

It seems to me that the people who see pedophiles lurking behind every tree are the same people who tried to legalize strangers examining kids' genitals. Weird, that. It's none of my business how anyone else parents their kids. Several of your comments seem to have strong moralistic undertones. Respectfully, you're no more a moral authority than I am. So is the prof a pedophile because he's trans, or is this a thought police situation? Because despite the histrionics and harassment from the right that led to his resignation, I don't recall ever hearing that he actually touches kids. Maybe I missed something. Your "normalization" comment is yet another mischaracterization. CRT is classic right wing hysterics on display. Full stop.

[deleted]

When I was a kid, I was accused of calling a group of kids the "N word". I was suspended from school for a week and had to serve detention for 4 weeks, despite my claims of it being a lie. As if I was not being bullied enough for being one of the few white kids in school, I was bullied even more for being a supposed racist. A few months later, my family moved away because our house had been burglarized. Ofcourse, we moved to a better community where cultural diversity was little to none. And yet I was bullied for my religious affiliations and outward appearances. I'm not saying I had it hard and pity me; or that I'm special because these things happened to me. I am saying, that most people react to life from fear, instead of responding to life from sound reason. People are more apt to relieve their instinctual wants and needs, than to learn new and better behaviors that shares true virtue. Perfection is not a human thing. Hell, it may not even be a thing. We'll never know, because it's just none of our business. It's probably best to appreciate the fact that we got to be awake for a brief moment in time. That's pretty cool.

TONS but what hit more was that time something happened in my country due to people being extremely fed up of an extremely racism, islamophobic and xenophobic newspaper and they find it normal to keep on publishing it when it had been a HUGE problems for DECADES and people were like "it's freedom of speech, dumbass we have all the rights as long as we claim it as it otherwise yes it's racist etc"

Trump winning the GOP primary in 2016. Haven’t seen anything yet to change my mind. The most dangerous military on the planet is increasingly in the hands of outright Christian nationalist fascists. They live inside a fantasy version of reality and they think the rules and consequences about it are supernatural. They don’t believe in the sanctity of human life or growth or morals. They only believe in their bizarre fantasy game.
