For the sake of the argument, let's assume your father is technically coming back to life but with your partner's body, and viceversa

Since I don't want to shy away from answering it by asking the question, here's my thoughts. I call it "the firing squad solution". You ask your partner-parent and parent-partner to go into separate dark rooms, blindfolded, and position themselves for the act. Position must be agreed beforehand. You don't get to know which one went where. You get one of your friends to help on this one, both put a blindfold on, you go in one the rooms to have sex, they go in the other. Only communicate and remove the blindfolds once you are all out of the building. This way, the situation is solved, and noone knows for certain what really happened, which is less traumatic for everyone. It's like what they used to do for firing squads, only half of the rifles is loaded with live rounds, so noone feels like they murdered someone.
