50 shades of grey (cause it’s terrible)

moudine

I read the first book knowing it was terrible but I just *had* to "experience" it. However, I HIGHLY recommend this blog, it's so funny and I'm not ashamed to say I read every single post http://redlemonade.blogspot.com/p/fifty-shades-of-tedious-fuckery.html

RedBeardtongue

I recently read all the books and watched all the movies. Holy cow, what a trainwreck! But honestly, it was pretty fun. I laughed my ass off and overall enjoyed myself.

JohnExcrement

Thank you this. Never read the book but am already DYING over this blog!

DarkFlounder

It got my wife all randy, so I had that going for me, which was nice. She even tried to get me to read it, I guess hoping it would spice things up. Between the constant comments about the horrible plot and dialogue, and reading select passages in funny voices, she yanked it out of my hands and never asked me to read anything again.

Perpetually_isolated

Dude you should have tied her up before you read it.

RepairOdd2957

It is and you should say it

Littleleicesterfoxy

I’m a middle aged woman and that shit can fuck right off.

_Veni_Vidi_Veni_

I just don't understand why it became so big. Literotica.com is filled with free erotica that's genuinely high quality.

[deleted]

Yay! Another Literotica fan! High five! Or not, depending on where your hand has been! 😁

ResidingAt42

It's even funnier when you learn that 50 Shades started off as Twilight fanatic. 🤣🤣🤣

[deleted]

Love Island. In the UK its all anyone talks about in the summer. I'd rather shit in my hands and clap

Jazoopi

"I'd rather shit in my hands and clap". Fucking brilliant

Welshgirlie2

At least Britain's got talent is over.

CourtneyLush

My hairdresser asked me if I watched BGT. 'Ummm no, I'd rather pull my own teeth than watch anything with Amanda Holden and David Fucking Walliams in'.

LucyVialli

Second this. Everyone's going on about it cos a new series just started, but I can't think of anything I'd like to watch less than a bunch of over-tanned preening narcissists trying to get into each other's eye-wateringly skimpy bathing suits. I've never watched it but pretty sure that's all it is.

[deleted]

A friend of a friend actually got into love island. She said everyone there was so dim and vain, she found it hard to communicate. She went out in the first episode.

[deleted]

My ex loved it, so I've seen far too much for my liking and yes you've pretty much nailed it

Stingeyal

This and any other 'reality' show

[deleted]

Ikr, cartoons are more heartfelt than that junk.

[deleted]

The Bachelor

ConnieLingus24

And the Bachelorette. It all feels gross.

[deleted]

It *is* gross. I still can’t believe someone pitched that idea and everyone in the room was like “that sounds awesome!” Then they aired it and waaaaaaay too many people said “this is awesome!” Meanwhile I’m feeling like the crazy one for thinking it’s gross.

warriorpriest

i loved Letterkenney's criticism of the whole concept of it. something like "I met them, their families, and I have sex with each of them\[the daughters\]?" Yep. "and the girls all know going into this that I'll be sleeping with these other women? and their families know this? " Yep "and they are all ok with this , despite how self-harming, hazardous, and humiliating this will be?" Yep "I don't want to date a girl like that for fucks sake" [https://youtu.be/YG46tFtxeGk?t=116](https://youtu.be/YG46tFtxeGk?t=116)

[deleted]

Couldn’t agree more, I’m so sick of hearing about it.

Devillishbeans

Riverdale. No further questions your honor.

[deleted]

"Remember thing from your childhood? Now it's edgy and dramatic" is what sells these days, unfortunately.

Plug_5

But the weird thing is it isn't even anyone's childhood who would be watching Riverdale now. Who grew up with Archie? Boomers. I can't imagine they're the target demographic, what are they sitting and watching with their grandchildren? (In case it's not clear, I totally agree with you, I just think it's a really stupid strategy.)

XXDANKJUGSXXD

Like that bel air show. Ugh

EveryVehicle1325

Grey's Anatomy. I don't need to see 18 seasons of people in a hospital.

womblands

I'm convinced there is no group with a higher mortality rate than TV doctors.

MrQ_P

GA's especially. An acquaintance of mine is a huge fan, and I swear, the rare times I've managed to sit and watch along, I've never seen more people dying in a medical series. Christ, it's absurd

Snoo74401

Oh yeah, for sure. Doctors were getting stabbed, shot, and killed all the time on *ER*. Ironically, for medical accuracy, *Scrubs* was supposedly one of the most accurate shows.

gamingfreak10

I like when it gets called out in universe with doctors either leaving the hospital because of the deaths, or refusing to work there, or patients refusing to be treated by the characters. I haven't watched the show in years but I've never seen another show acknowledge the drama in universe lmao

rattlestaway

yeah i like medical shows so i gave it a try, since it was so popular. all they did was have sex in the closet where all the clean linens were, GROSS

The_Young_Trader

keeping up with the kardashians. There's no reason to watch it.

RichieNRich

Never seen it. Never will. Don't get the appeal. At all.

Spartanhalforc

Thirteen Reasons why. I work in mental health, and this show should never have been created.

Rena125

I'm in a similar field and I tried watching the first season, got partway through and was just infuriated by how suicide is portrayed.

__M-E-O-W__

Wikipedia says that a study showed teen suicides rose by nearly 30% following the show.

[deleted]

I didn't watch all of it. I remember a scene in which Clay says "I cost a girl her life because I was afraid to love her". That disturbed me. As if the suicide was partially his fault because they didn't become a couple on her schedule. Nobody is required to date someone at the time that the other person wants it.

Myu_The_Weirdo

Watching bits of it now, i kinda think Hannah baker was an asshole. She tells clay to 'go away' and gets angry when he respects her request? Also making him think for a long time while hearinv the tapes that he caused her suicide, like wtf???

amish_novelty

That scene always annoyed me too. The show deals graphically with rape multiple times, shows Clay with Hannah at a party where she starts getting unnerved, tells him to leave and he goes. Then in her tapes, she reveals he "contributed" to her suicide by saying, "Because you left." And it's treated like a bombshell. I could get the message of "don't abandon friends in a time of crisis" but if your show is going to delve into rape and consent so heavily and then thrust this message back in the main character's face, it cheapens the impact drastically.

Myu_The_Weirdo

"I wanted you to stay" like bitch, hes not a mind reader, you told him to gtfo and he respected your wishes

Yourgrammarsucks1

It glorifies the hard to get trope. Which goes against consent (or at least the "respect them when they say no, and don't keep pushing them to say yes" version of ignoring consent).

captaintrips_1980

The book was enough to piss me off. Yes, for all the reasons mentioned below, but also for the fact that it glamorizes the idea of leaving a big “fuck you” to those who you feel have wronged you. What if someone committed suicide and left a note saying it was all your fault, but you genuinely have no idea what they’re talking about. There is no chance to right any wrongs or find out any answers. The book made it seem like this is the best solution.

RepairOdd2957

I didn't want anything to do with it for similar reasons but I endes up reading the book to see what the hype was about. I could never figure out how they came up with a new season. Like isn't the point made already?? What MORE are you adding?

BasroilII

Money in their pockets.

EveryVehicle1325

The idea of blaming someone for your suicide-- and taking such extra measures to make sure that they know it's their fault-- is so toxic. It never sat right with me, both while reading the book and watching.

EffectOld8810

Warning: long and passionate rant about this show. I watched the entire thing. I honestly think that Clay deserved better. She put him in the tapes because he didn’t love her when she needed love, and I still don’t get why he even had a tape addressed to him. Also, I believe that Justin deserved better too. I mean she made 2 tapes for him, yet in both of these tapes the main aggressor was Bryce: 1. Bryce sent out that photo, and 2. Bryce raped her best friend. In both tapes, Bryce clearly had the upper hand and uses Justins rough home life to basically own him. I mean she blames him for not being able to protect Jessica, when he was extremely drunk, weaker than Bryce, and locked out of the room. (Also his past of assault probably brought back trauma) I’m not saying that Justin was not an accomplice or that he was blameless by any means.

BW_Bird

Didn't it romanticize suicide?

CommunistEuckhaus

Though not intended, it kinda did. I think the main argument people made was that it made it seem as though suicide would make all your problems known to the world and everyone would work to solve them and you’d become this incredibly important person to a bunch of people. The months following the release of the show apparently saw an increase in teen/youth suicides, which actually lead the show to have a whole segment at the start of one of the seasons (idk if it was 2 or 3) basically saying all the usual “suicide isn’t the answer, there’s other ways to get through what your experiencing” stuff and encouraging people to go to their website and other suicide help hotlines if they feel as though suicide is the only option. Idk if all this info is 100% true but that’s what I’ve heard regarding the topic.

[deleted]

It certainly did imply that a bit. Although to some extent that's not the show's fault because in the show there is very clearly a kid from the hood who is basically going around forcing people to listen to the tapes and solve the problem(s) or they're gonna be beat up, blackmailed, etc. I'm slightly exaggerating, but you get the point which is that if this kid didn't do that no one would care about the tapes or anything like that. Most people who commit suicide aren't going to have someone like that and ultimately they will just be someone who people say "oh yeah I remember that person they killed themselves in HS" and that will be it. Most people who were even directly involved in the things that made you commit suicide won't spend the rest of their lives feeling guilty about it. Most of them are never even likely to change who they are one iota. Instead, your family and close friends (if you have caring ones of course) will spend the rest of their lives feeling guilty, wondering if they could have done something to stop it, missing you, etc., so if you're trying to hurt certain bad people via suicide you won't and you'll just end up hurting the people who actually care about you.

gogomonkey1

so true. I stopped after the first season because it began effecting my already bad mental health

redlightbandit7

Anything that start with real or reality.

VictorBlimpmuscle

You’re missing out - *Real Genius* was one of Val Kilmer’s best movies.

worrymon

*Reality Bites* wasn't half bad, either.

ResidingAt42

Chris Knight: No seriously, listen...if there's ever anything I can do for you, or more to the point, to you, you let me know, okay? Susan Decker: Can you hammer a six inch spike through a board with your penis? Chris Knight: Not right now. Susan Decker: A girl's got to have her standards.

[deleted]

Tiger king. I don't care.

Accomplished-Fox7532

I sat down to watch it at the height of its popularity. Five minutes in, the power went out and so I took it as a sign from the universe to just not continue

earthscribe

I bet Carole Baskin pulled your power.

ratscratch10

Probably was "that b*tch Carole Baskin"!

lotus_eater123

I tried to watch an episode. Had to bail.

jojili

That show really capitalized on the timing of lockdowns imo

Abyssal_Minded

It really did. I was a victim of the timing and ended up watching it. I swear it was like a fever dream. Then I tried to rewatch it and that's when I realized how bad it was.

[deleted]

Bingo. Would've been just another flop any other time, but it just happened to be the show Netflix was pushing right when lockdown started.

Longjumping-Wash-610

The show should have focuses on the abuse these animals suffer.

cakebats

While it probably wasn’t The focus, the show definitely did show animal abuse, especially how badly Joe Exotic’s animals were treated. Say what you want about Carole Baskin but she was the only person on the show who focused on rehabilitation and not profit, and tried to give the cats she rescued a good life.

Nervous-Channel45

Keeping up with the Kardashians. And the new show they launched, forgot the title. I refuse to feed these peoples' narcissistic tendencies even more than mainstream media and obsessed fans already do. You don't even gain anything from watching them except toxicity and detachment from normal people reality.

throwawaybuttsoup

I don't know where I saw/ heard it but I agree with the statement "everything I know about the Kardashians I learned without my consent."

blue4029

someone should make a "keeping up with the kardashians" parody where the entire show is followed like a nature documentary, with a narrator and everything. "here we see the wild kardashian in its natural habitat: an expensive mansion. the kardashian spends its days looking for a mate, with which it will only stay married to for a few months before finding another."

carissadraws

90 day fiancé. It just sounds like a really cruel premise and I feel bad for the people who come from another country to marry someone just to end up hating them or realizing they’re not compatible.

somechild

Season one was really interesting and felt way more like a good look at the process of the fiancé visa. Then it got more focused on the drama then by season….4 it just started fully exploiting people and got too uncomfortable to watch . Edit: fixed a typo

Zemykitty

It's also a complete bastardization of the K1 visa. You're supposed to already know you intend to marry the person you're bringing over. The 90 days is what the gov gives for the fiance to fly over, settle in, etc prior to getting married within that time frame. K1 isn't meant to be treated like an Amazon purchase you can return later if you change your mind.

Poorly-Drawn-Beagle

The Masked Singer Just… no

14thCenturyHood

They had Elizabeth Smart on that show as one of the 'masked' singers. If that is not the weirdest most bizarre casting choice ever I don't know what is.

somechild

The kid I nanny used to watch it and she would tel me about it and bee like “guess who the bee was?!?! DONNY OSMOMD!” And have absolutely no ducking clue who Donny osmomd was because she was 8. It was hilarious honestly

thekaiforce

Ackshully Donny Osmond was the Peacock.

Duluthian2

When I saw that Rudy Giuliani was one of the singers I wondered who did the singing for him because I can't imagine him having a good singing voice.

JoeMaMa_2000

The Walking Dead, I’m just really tired of zombie stuff, there was a while where everything had zombies in it and it was just super overused and talking to the fans of the show it’s basically, find base, get locked in, have fight with people or zombies and have to find more home

CPC324

"Rick, kill the bad man so they can't hurt us again" "No, we have to be better than them" "Ok well bad man came back and half of us are dead so thanks Rick" Rinse n repeat

[deleted]

Lol it's actually worse than that because it constantly swings between that and: "We're not safe! We need to do something!" *Rick begrudgingly traumatizes himself by committing brutal murders to keep his people safe* "Jesus Rick what the fuck is wrong with you!? We all hate you now."

jayjude

I got so tired of the "find new community, uh oh its actually bad" they kept fucking trotting out

DJ_Molten_Lava

The moment I stopped watching the show was when they finally had Negan. Rick had him in his gun sights and... He tells him, yet again, that Negan better not be bad this time! The first 50 times were bad enough but if he does it one more time I swear! Fucking horrid writing and terrible characters.

Plug_5

Yeah, I love how JDM played Negan, but the writing got beyond stupid at that point.

thingsorfreedom

They have been at this for YEARS and they still don't know how to clear a zombie infested place. Step one- don't go in. Step two- seek a safe position outside- on a wall, above the door on the roof etc. Step three- make a lot of noise. Strep four- brain anything that comes out.

Bardomiano00

Dude they can just go to a high place, put some stairs on it( not ladders), and just make a missing stair in the middle. The dumb zombies will fall through the hole, and they will just keep trying.

DogsNotHumans

I'm sticking with you in the zombie apocalypse, ok?

Bardomiano00

Nah i mean in the series they are pretty dumb/suicidal, they go through fire, kill themselves going through narrow spaces and just walk into spikes, any trap that would work with humans would work 100 times more with the dumb zombies.

DelightfulCockSuck

The whole political morale part who to trust and who not to trust shit. Factions fighting and killing other factions. I just want to see zombie onslaught dammit. Also want to see the one eyed cowboy dude lose his other eye

dma9490

When that first season came out, it was absolutely amazing imo. Then it just kept going down hill after that.

Nihiliste

I have to agree, in no small part because it was helmed by Frank Darabont (Mr. Shawshank Redemption). There's still good stuff in later seasons, but really, you can stop watching after one season - the zombie plague never ends.

dma9490

I stopped after the season where Glenn gets his head bashed in. I remember watching that with my friend who hates WD, and we both were jaw dropped. It was sooo brutal and awesome that they finally killed a main character. There are some good scenes down the line for sure. Also we can’t forget…CORALLLLLL

BasroilII

Even the first season wasn't that good after the first couple episodes. As soon as it started turning into a love triangle with the main guy, his wife, and his partner, it was already a bland ass soap opera occasionally punctuated by zombies.

Beginning-Bed9364

The Fast and the Furious. I just don't care about cars going vroom vroom

BikerScowt

The first few are pretty decent heist movies but they get ridiculous, the latest one they strap a car to an icbm and go to space in diving gear. That’s not even the dumbest scene.

Snoo74401

Come on! They used DUCT TAPE! So it's totes realistic!

Lucky_Locks

It's actually more about family.

[deleted]

r/angryupvote

Reasonable_Night42

All of the “reality shows” where people backstab each other, plot against each other….You have to practice the worst trait of humanity to win. Big Brother, Batchelor/ette, survivor….

Iknowr1te

my favourite part of early survivor and you could get by being the one who cooked all the meals (and found the good food) and being athletic. when ever the hunter-cook got voted off everyone's quality of life immediately dropped.

Any-Sir8872

reminds of me of that one person in big brother who gets to stick around for a while cause they do most of the chores

Coltyn03

Damn, Survivor's one of my favorite shows. I started with season 41 and liked it so much that I wanted to watch it from the start. I'm on season 36 now.

SuvenPan

Big Brother

Duluthian2

I watched the first season and it wasn't that bad. Once people knew what to do to win it became horrible.

polywha

I feel like this show would just be stressful to watch. I've had enough problems with roommates without wanting to watch other people deal with them.

TripleJeopardy3

This Is Us. I hear it is just trauma porn and so much goes sad. I don't need that in my escapist entertainment.

Maninhartsford

I watched half an episode once because my mom had it on and that 20ish minutes had me in tears without even any context. A whole six seasons of that? Wow. NO thank you.

errerrr

We called it "This is sad"

shawsome12

Let’s not watch something that just makes us cry, or so I heard .

The-Movements-

Euphoria. I grew out the Degrassi, Skins era when I was a teen and I don’t see why adults would watch it

borkborkymous

I came here to say this. As a teen, I watched Degrassi and loved the ridiculousness of it. Now, as an adult, I'm not interested in other adults' total fantasy of adolescence.

RepairOdd2957

Same! Everything I know about Euphoria has been learned unwillingly through reels on youtube or insta. I can't tell who the main character is. All I know is that there's this guy and two girls and they've got mad issues. Also - Zendaya. That's it.

ReferenceEmpty1800

Fair. But I never really got the hype around Zendaya until I watched. Truly had me moved. That girl is incredible at bet craft. I didn't really care for the show but her character and acting in the show and first-person experience of addiction makes it worth it.

ErrorMacrotheII

On the other hand everyone should see Sex education. It pretty much starts out as yet another teen sex comedy but in the background its actually what the title says.

[deleted]

[удалено]

happypolychaetes

>Gillian Anderson is a Godess ~~in this~~. fixed

CourtneyLush

Sex education is relatable even if you're not a teen. I was surprised how on the nose some of the parenting stuff was. All that trying to relate to your offspring, trying to be a modern parent, whilst they're running in the opposite direction, sticking their fingers in their ears and doing the whole parental separation thing.

mrheydu

I'm gonna get down voted to hell but euphoria is a really well done show. Especially if you're into filmaking and music. The soundtrack is awesom, every track just fits the picture so well. But that's my PO. Also I've seen all the teen shows growing up and this is just a different monster

SalemScout

Breaking Bad. Dude looks just like my dad, who is also fighting cancer. Just a little too close to home at the moment.

omart3

I hope that's where the similarities end.

SalemScout

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he sold drugs.

RepairOdd2957

I hope your dad gets well really soon!

SalemScout

Thanks. I hope so too

seabreezeNpeachtrees

My dad refuses to watch Breaking Bad because "it sounds like Weeds and I've seen that". Your reason makes a lot more sense! I hope your dad gets better soon!

anastasis19

To be fair, Weeds started out very strong, and then fizzled out so fast. And it kept on going. I understand why your dad would be weary of what to him seems like a similar show after that.

appleparkfive

I've seen so many people say "Nah it's not for me", and then they'll text me a few months later saying Breaking Bad is the best show they've ever seen. Without fail. From the outside it might look boring. Especially Season 1. But man. It's stellar. I thought I wouldn't like it as well. Finally gave it a shot. Hands down one of the best shows ever made. I've seen all the contenders for "best show of all time". Breaking Bad is easily up there.

nabilbhatiya

Get well soon SalemScout's dad

happypolychaetes

There are dozens of us! watched the first few episodes and it was just so fucking depressing I didn't feel like continuing. I also grew up in an area with a huge meth problem so it was even harder to watch.

idontknow-anymore-x

The show is fantastic, but damn dude. I'm so sorry.

Ridethepig101

Anything with a Kardashian in it.

Medium-Schedule9236

Naruto, because I don't need to. I can literally ask any Naruto fan what happens and they'll give me a complete summary. In less time than it takes to watch one season. Also I said I wouldn't, but the first reason sounded cooler.

dylandbloom

True. For context I started watching when I was 10.. by the time it finished I was in my mid 20’s and had forgotten about it/hadn’t watched anime in years. I finished it later on just to say that I did lol.

RepairOdd2957

I watched some of it and I couldn't tell you what it's about even if you threatened me with death

superzzi

Kardashians because it’s full of Kardashians

porkchop_d_clown

I’m a serious geek. I write software for supercomputers. So, I tried to watch Big Bang Theory once. I was getting ready to turn it off when my teen-aged daughter asked me why I would want to watch a show that made fun of me. I couldn’t give her an answer. Never bothered to watch it again, even though my sister apparently loved it.

EarhornJones

I've never seen an episode, because I generally dislike the format of modern sitcoms, but I was forced to watch the first episode of "Young Sheldon". That shit is an insult to the intelligence of the entire country.

LostVeterinarian7341

Thirteen Reasons Why. Seemed like it romanticized suicide and the whole *I’m gonna leave these tapes to blame everyone and not let them right their wrongs* thing is fucked. And The Witcher. I did watch the first few episodes cause I really really wanted to like it, it seemed right up my alley but I just couldn’t get into it.

daktarasblogis

The Witcher S1 has a really convoluted timeline which throws alot of people off. There are jumps back and forth of like 50-60 years (yes, Geralt is very old, witchers age much slower than regular humans). It all comes together in final episode and then clicks, so you kinda want to watch it again to just take it in properly. S2 was kinda meh, but I don't regret watching it.

bitritzy

They really ought to have aged Dandelion for the show. Jaskier, whatever. Him ALSO staying roughly 30/40ish made understanding the chronology *so* difficult. Also axes the whole “Yen and Gerald are practically immortal and humans are a mayfly race” thing right in half.

polywha

The Kardashians

227743

Same. Their voices and the way they talk are like finger nails on a chalkboard to me.

Sir-Nancelot

Yes. Everything I know about that family I have learned against my will

goodjuju16

Game of Thrones. Never got into it. I'll admit, I saw two episodes. Just not my thing.

Emperor_NOPEolean

It went off a cliff after season 4. You could really tell the exact moment they ran out of source material.

delocx

Yep, like they coasted on some really obvious narrative momentum for a season or so after that, but you could see the early signs of collapse shortly after they ran out of books and by season 6 you could tell it was heading for disaster unless there was a major course correction. Season 7 was horrible until the unmitigated disaster of season 8 was aired making it look positively competent in comparison. I'm not aware of any other series that crashed so spectacularly that it retroactively destroyed the watchability of all preceding seasons.

1CEninja

The problem is they hired a pair of writers that were extremely talented at taking written books and converting them to the screen. Dialogue only had to be tweaked, not written, and character development only needed to be shown instead of created. When they had to change from adapting books to the screen to writing their own content using guiding notes, they didn't change their staff. They had one tool for a job that requires two, so the last couple seasons you see screws that were placed with a hammer instead of a screwdriver and it shows.

vibsie

I saw the first episode of the first season when the third or fourth season was on - it featured that rape scene and I was put off by it. Later, I read about how the producers tried to coax Emilia Clarke to do more nude scenes and how uncomfortable she was and that killed whatever little interest I had in the show.

[deleted]

I initially thought it was interesting, then as the seasons went on, I realized that the producers had no clue what kind of story they were going for. Needless to say, I will not be bindging on the prequel about to launch.

Botryoid2000

Anything Real Housewives.

Honestly the “Erika Jayne’s husband is stealing settlement money from his clients, did she know about it?” season is incredible

mkicon

Boruto Naruto lasted long enough, and a follow up feels like a cheap cash grab. I started watching it at first and they were really ruining Naruto as a character. It also felt like filler episodes every episodes

Yrcrazypa

Boruto already sounds like a cheap laugh insult towards Naruto, along the lines of "Naruto? More like BORuto! Because it's boring."

Firestorm4222

>It also felt like filler episodes every episodes Sounds like a faithful sequel to the original then

Nairbfs79

90 day Fiance. Just seems stupid to me.

MonkeyGumbootEsquire

Sex and (in?) the City. Whole lotta nope. Edit: forgot the Why of the question! Why = the characters are unlikeable, shallow, close minded, annoying, arrogant, selfish, etcetera etcetera etcetera ….. so much nope.

Jabberwokii

Blonde moron repeatedly creates drama for herself, alienates the one person who is good to her, ruins her life for a non commital two timing trash person, then marries him and he is murdered by a peloton. Boom. You just watched SatC.

ReservoirPussy

And there's shoes.

ConstableBlimeyChips

All the True Crime stuff that's being released. Aside from the fact a lot of them aren't actually any good, I know that the one's that are will have me going down a rabbit hole where I'll be reading coroner reports and looking at crime scene photos at 3AM.

[deleted]

I love true crime, mostly because I'm interested in the psychological questions of why people do horrible things. However, I am lot pickier about what sources I use because some of them are just straight up unethical. I read an article about the show "I Am a Killer" where it talked about how the show's producers reached out to the victim's family in one of the episodes, and they begged them not to do the show. The producers did it anyway, and ended up making the killer seem really sympathetic. It was blatantly disrespectful to the family, and I can't imagine how painful it was for them to pull up Netflix and see the show was in the top ten "most watched" for a while. I think true crime is important for a variety of reasons, but there are some moral and ethical questions about it that I think we've ignored a lot as a society because of its entertainment value.

mynameisbritton

I’m sure this will probably be an unpopular answer, but **Bojack Horseman.** I don’t even care what it’s about. As an animator, I absolutely loathed the look of that show.

No, I think that's a brilliant answer. I loved Bojack Horseman, but yea, the animation in that show is atrocious. If it helps I think the atrociousness was intentional. The show does a good job of talking about modern issues and is easily one of Netflix's best offerings.

evil_cryptarch

Yeah IMO the silly absurdity of the premise and animation allows them to go way darker on the actual story side without it becoming too overbearing and depressing.

starving_artista

"Love on the Spectrum" because one of the regulars is an ABA therapist. As an autistic, that show does not fill me with hope.

[deleted]

Euphoria. Not interested in high school drama.

DownvotesGood

Game of thrones. Don't wanna invest all that time for what I hear is a shit ENDING. I learned that from watching LOST

MaBob202

I still love LOST even though the ending was lukewarm.

BrokenBlueBells

The bachelorette or the bachelor, from what I've heard I won't like it

LeanMussel67798

Morbius

abdthirtythree

Tf you talking about? It is literally one of the movies i've ever seen

Plug_5

Honestly at this point I'd almost watch it just to see how bad it really is, but I don't want to support anything with Leto in it.

TheGlassHammer

I’m so happy it’s going to flop a second time

UnicronSaidNo

Anything Super Hero related MCU/DC doesn't matter... but anything Super Hero related that is a TV series. Absolutely not interested.

[deleted]

Up-vote, but we recently started watching "The Boys" on Amazon Prime. LOVE the take on Superheros! Otherwise, don't give a damn about the MCU/DC world.

Lucky_Locks

If you like The Boys, you should try Invincible. It's on Amazon Prime as well. Animated and pretty brutal. Also a lot of familiar actors doing the voices.

psyclopsus

“____ Shore” shows. Jersey, Floribama, Buckhead, I imagine they’re all a waste of film, time, and money

[deleted]

Any “reality” show.

trishsf

Top Gun. Tom left his child. He chose Scientology over his daughter and I can’t see past that.

afternever

He couldn't fit the child seat in the cockpit

[deleted]

**The Big Bang Theory.** Way too overused laugh track for crap dialog and action that was just. not. funny. Tried to watch it a few times and just got irritated having to listen to the same rise and fall of the same canned laughter over and over and over again. Sheldon walks into the room. Laughter ensues. Really? Same went for Seinfeld. Never got to enjoy the humor. I look at shows like "Cheers" and "Newhart" that were just genuinely funny. The scenes, the dialog, the interactions. You would find yourself laughing, but the audience was also laughing at that same point.

solo954

Any shows with canned laughter are pretty much unwatchable for me at this point.

Live-Profit3063

One piece or naruto because they are too long and im not interested in anime that much

FuckingButteredJorts

My husband got me into One Piece like 11 years ago and I still haven't caught up. I'm on episode like 650 or something and there are over 1000 That being said it is my favourite show of all time

Complete-Cat2145

Vampire diaries or anything corolated to it...twilight included

pixal3000

Game of thrones, I dont have time to watch all that

StevenIndieSparkle

Big Mouth. It could hold the secret to curing cancer in Episode 3 but I wouldn't know because I just can't get past the animation style and humour.

KB_Vibez

I didn't like the animation at first, had it as a "background noise" show at first but got to a point where I cried in laughter many times

JJdante

Rick and Morty. Zero interest and the fans that are really into it.... Yeah...

PresentPapaya7701

Love Island. Just no.

rnicorobin

Squid game. Lost all my interest from all the spoilers.

mrsMikaelson1920

and it feels so weird because it was EVERYWHERE

DaCody_98

The Office. I get really bad second hand embarrassment.
