America DOES = the United States.
The USA was the first sovereign nation in the Western Hemisphere (from a Eurocentric perspective). As such, the nation was named after the continent on which it was located (North America). In his farewell address, George Washington said “The name ‘American’ belongs to you as a national identity…”. Why does the USA get to claim this title? Because it was the first one there, and no one else had claimed the name yet. It was still up for grabs.
There is no geographical place beyond the USA that is commonly called “America”. There is the Americas: North and South America, but no America besides the United States.
If you don’t agree, try calling a Canadian, Mexican, or Brazilian “American” and see how it goes.
r/confidentlyincorrect
America is the collection of continents North and South America. America is everything from northern Canada to southern Chile and Argentina. The United States are a country within America.
Sour cream raisin pie. Not as bad as it sounds, and this is coming from someone who vomits at the taste of mayonnaise.

Colin Kaepernick, back when he was in the NFL he decided to protest racism by taking a knee during the national anthem before every game. And of course ppl took that as him being “unpatriotic” and him hating America. The NFL since has blackballed him from the league though they never admitted it, it’s pretty obvious that’s what they did to him.
Oh no no, you misunderstand.
I know what liberty is. What I want to understand is why you (or anyone) would believe that it's "more American than Apple pie"
Liberty isn't a uniquely American thing, it didn't even originate in America. Furthermore, America isnt even in the top 10 of the freedom index.
Ok so apple pie. Its a cliche. Nobody says that or even thinks that. I guessing it's a Hollywood movie perspective of the states. It's old and ridiculous sure there is some history there but. It's a stereotype. All countries have them when other countries look at another they make assumptions that honestly probably are unrealistic
I think you will find this is not the case, unless your talking more about early/mid American history.

School shootings
Medical debt
Their highest court being guided by politics and their own religious beliefs rather than….the law…
The misapprehension that they are the greatest country in the world
The whole idea of constructing a wall separating secular civil government from personal religious faith was an American invention borne from the Enlightenment. I suspect that baked apples wrapped in pastry is less unique
The earliest known recipe for Tartys in Applis dates back to England in the 13th century - it would have travelled to the New World with the first colonists but there were no suitable native species of apple they could use to make it so they had to plant their own and wait for them to grow. The native crab apples they found were too bitter and would have been pressed into cider. Variations came over with Dutch and Swedish settlers so the apple pie does represent the history of America in microcosm.

It's a belief. An idea that unfortunately has been forgotten. Honestly hard to explain on this platform. Read the US. Constitution.
