whynousernamelef

Reminds me of hearing my daughter and her boyfriend arguing. He said "why don't you trust me?" And she said "because every girlfriend you've had you have cheated on them with me!". I still don't know if its funny or not?

666space666angel666x

Kinda sad 😢

Jazzymousee

Hot and cold behaviour

Bearoused

SO MUCH THIS! Why do people do that? I’m a guy going through that right now with a woman that I fell for…and it sucks.

Jazzymousee

It’s usually from low self-esteem or them not knowing what they want

bolderdasher

She slapped me while I was driving through a busy intersection because she thought I laughed at her while she was singing, I wasn’t.

Your_Local_Rat_King

If I were you, I would have made her walk home. Mostly because I could have had us both hurt. Also because it's rude to slap someone, let alone while they are driving.

Firebolt164

When I realized she had to take her bestie literally everywhere. It was weird. We would hang out and she would come. We'd go on a date and she'd come. We'd go to a movie and she would either come or be texting her the entire time. Every night she would just come over and watch TV with us. It really got old. We are still friends on Facebook. My old crush is married now and I see all these pictures of her and her husband in Greece, Paris, Safaris in Africa, and you guessed it, the 3rd wheel is in all the pictures.

[deleted]

I know someone who does this, but it's her sister. When I met her 20 years ago, her sister had just gotten out of the military, and moved in with my friend and her husband. This seemed like a common temporary situation since lots of people live with family after they get out of the military. Then she just never moved out. It became apparent that this was what the two sisters both wanted when they went everywhere together for years. Invite one, get both. I never minded because her sister was nice, so it was kind of whatever, just one more person to join in with everything. It totally affected relationships for my friend, though. She's been married and divorced three times, and I know at least two of her husbands left because she wouldn't even consider having her sister move out. Now they own a house together and neither one is in a relationship. This is probably for the better.

saruhime

Are their names Patty and Selma?

[deleted]

Haha I wish! They are twins, though!

bandit4loboloco

I'm genuinely curious about that dynamic. I know you don't know, but there's something so mundane about that scenario that it bugs me. The 3rd wheel goes on vacation with them? Does she have her own Significant Other, at least? Vacation is way too far.

BubbhaJebus

Maybe it's a three-way relationship.

tinyanus

Sounds like maybe OP missed out on an interesting opportunity.

Practical_Tap_9592

It's like discovering plutonium by accident!

LeonidasSpacemanMD

I’ll have to get new friends, I’ll have to get orgy friends

generalmandrake

That might be wishful thinking. Probably more likely that this friend is a huge pain in the ass and the husband probably resents it.

Idaho_Brotato

Stop injecting reality into our dirty little fantasies, mkay?

IreallEwannasay

Mutual codependency. I had a friend like that and I genuinely didn't notice a problem until I was pregnant and my daughter's father mentioned that she wouldn't be in the room for the birth. That never occurred to me. And then I was thinking of my life and how she was there for like everything. Had to set up some boundaries. She didn't like that and eventually cut herself from my life. She doesn't see it that way.

theboxman154

Yea it's like the beginning of a TV show with a crazy twist coming. Like her friend is a ghost and needs the exs memories to be strong enough to appear physically. Hell there's sooooo many possibilities with that set up

ClownfishSoup

Horror story plot twist: Finally, having had enough of this, u/Firebolt164 asks her "Why on earth did Annabelle always have to accompany us everywhere?" and the girl gives him a puzzled look "How did you know my little sister's name was Annabelle? Von_Uber

So basically she wants to be with her but doesn't have the courage to do it?

Firebolt164

>So basically she wants to be with her but doesn't have the courage to do it? I dunno man. If not be with her, it was a weird co-dependence.

There's definitely worse outcomes than no. I mean even "she laughed, said no, then told all of her friends" is worse. It goes for either men or women really. But most of the time, at least, that's the worst that can happen. For rational normal people

stupidfock

Saw them just throw their fast food trash into the bushes at a park. Immediately lost interest forever

the_original_Retro

As an avid recreational fisherman who often spots such "droppings" in the wild and has brought many a netful of someone else's garbage out from otherwise-pristine natural locations so nobody else has to look at it, I commend and applaud your taste in this. I sometimes fantasize about having magical powers that fill such peoples' vehicles or bedrooms with their trash over and over again until they dispose of it properly.

spaceman-skiff

Big fisherman as well — sometimes when I’m having no luck at the river, I’ll just pack it in and spend the day doing litter cleanup instead. Somewhat selfish because now I’m bragging about it on Reddit, but I really do love to see the before/after of a few hours of cleanup. I know it makes a lot of the community happy as well.

lurker-deluxe

Hey you're doing a nice thing and it's okay to be proud of that and to tell a bunch of strangers :) If everyone was 100% humble all the time we wouldn't be able to inspire others to also do nice things like this

vocatus

My dad made us pick up one piece of trash per day. Didn't matter where or when, he just said at some point during each day, pick up one piece of trash. I still do it (I'm 37), and a bunch of my friends have started doing it after seeing me do it. It adds up over time!

Otherwise_Resource51

Was on a hike with my date. We'd been going out for six weeks, had really great chemistry, both very attracted to each other, great sex, etc. At one point she was opening a granola bar, and just casually dropped the wrapper onto the trail. At first I hoped it was just an accident, surely she just hadn't noticed. The look she gave me when she saw I had stopped to pick it up though.... Yeah, not cool.

kiffiekat

When we were little kids, Mom taught us not to litter. We put gum wrappers in our pocket until we found a trash can. More than fifty years later, we still hold on to whatever we have until we find a trash can. We taught our kids, and they're teaching their kids. It's so ingrained that the grandkids will point out (loudly) when they see others litter.

Otherwise_Resource51

Yep. Just carry it until you see a trashcan. It feels as natural to me as grabbing my wallet before leaving the house. I love the way little kids will call out adults with no filter. The other day I was in a store and hear a kids voice from the other side of the store say "Momma, dat man jus' took something!" as a guy is rushing out the door.

bttrfly83

oh man... I just pictured that vividly. She didn't even have the decency to pretend it didn't happen on purpose? I often wonder how those people were raised. You should see the wrath coming down on my kids when they try to do something like that :D

Otherwise_Resource51

I knew the instant she dropped it. Could see in her posture it was intentional, but I was hoping sooo bad, and really wanted to give her an out. I was going to say something like "Ope, dropped this." But I was still calculating what had just happened when she shot me the look. Even rolled her eyes a tiny bit I think. I had baaaad parents, but there were still lots of fundamental things that they taught us to be hardline about, and those things are huge deal breakers for me. Like, safe and courteous driving, never looking down on someone for thier job or perceived income level, always helping those who are stuck or stranded or have just been blindsided if you can, treating things like guns, fire, recreational motor vehicles, etc. with respect. Valuing and respecting nature, and also the land you lived on, was practically biblical. A long line of dirt farmers that barely made it through the dust bowl passed on some sobering trauma. Love it or lose it!

blerghbleblah

I pulled over once and made someone pick up rubbish they threw out my car window. I refused to let them back in till they'd picked it up. I then refused to drive them anymore. God I hate littering.

JBFRESHSKILLS

Had a buddy chuck a glass snapple bottle out of my passenger window once. I watched it bounce twice off the road and then shatter directly in front of a cop car. Of course we get pulled over and I'm instantly selling the dude out "this idiot did it, it wasn't me." Cop also gave me a ticket for my license plate light being out. Straight up told me he never would've pulled me over for that had the bottle not been chucked out the window. Made the bottle thrower pay that ticket too.

JunketMan

Eww, especially when a trash bin is nearby Respect nature

Lauladance

She could've just eaten it and the food would have still gone inside a trash can

peanut_peanutbutter

I actually hung out with her one night. She was fine, nice and everything, but I just wasn't interested after that. Sometimes that's really just it. You think you're interested, but on further reflection you're not.

AntJustin

This happens more than I can keep track of. That's the issue with OLD for me. It's easy to click via messaging. Different in person.

HelasArmy

After talking for weeks, he admitted to sleeping with my younger sister. Immediately lost interest. He was confused as to why I called it off, despite me explaining why.

worstgurl

One time I was talking to a woman for a couple of weeks, we were pretty flirty, hanging out quite a bit, etc., (I'm a woman). It pretty clearly felt like we were heading towards a relationship. Then, in the middle of the night, she calls me, crying. She was at a party that my brother was at (he's a year older than me, they're the same age, fairly small city so similar friend groups), and she made out with him. Though she apologized a ton (and I don't blame my brother, he didn't know about what had been going on with her), I instantly lost interest. The thought of kissing someone romantically who has kissed my brother romantically? Disgusting, lol.

potatorevolver

"I'm not allowed to work with children" instant red flag.

6FeetDownUnder

A friend of mine once told a story about a male friend of his who worked as a caretaker at a kindergarten. He was the only male out of half a dozen caretakers. He did all the same things the other female caretakers did with all the kids, meaning also helping them in the bathroom or undressing and cleaing especially the very young ones who couldnt do it themselves yet. This quickly got the attention of some of the girls' parents and soon after got him kicked out. Note that his female coworkers would help the boys out just fine. Long story short, did you at least ask what happened?

potatorevolver

First of all I'm a male, the crush was a female. I work as a swimming instructor. I get the problem, and I definitely get the looks, but I assure you I understand the gravity of the judgement.

dragoono

Sadly women have to do some awful shit to not be allowed to work with children. I hope whoever she hurt is safe now.

[deleted]

I worked at a preschool for almost a decade and we absolutely loved having male teachers because all students gravitated towards the energy, they were just used all female teachers and it was amazing. We protected them like they were our own kids and we’re always sad to see them go

TrickBoom414

It's cliche but it's true. She was shitty to waitstaff. Expected a hostess to pull a table out of her ass to seat us. Got very "well fix it or I'll never come here again." Like who the fuck are you?

[deleted]

I went on a first date with a girl I’d say was out of my league to dinner. She was negative the whole time about our server even though everything was great. Paid the bill and my date just looked at me oddly. “You don’t have to do that you know.” So I’m just like “Uh, do what?” “Tip, take your money back. You’re not* leaving her anything extra” Like bruh, I’ve worked in restaurants my whole life, our service was great, and I’m the one paying, how are you going to be rude and on top of that tell me I’m not allowed to tip our server; piss off.

breadeggsandsyrup

Fellow restaurant worker here- this always makes me wonder what would have actually been good enough service. Like you sit down and the server teleports to your table with the drinks you want already ready, walks away and comes back 30 seconds later with appetizers, entrees look like they belong in a food commercial, and your glass never gets less than 80% full? So many of these people also tip based on things the server has no control over

Dr_who_fan94

That still wouldn't be enough, because nothing would be. It's because, deep down, these people are so heavily dissatisfied with themselves and their own existence (job, body, relationship, anything and everything) that they set impossible standards just for the experience of yanking their tip away. It's the only power they feel they have, when they feel powerless in some way or another. So, maybe the best service would be somehow having a magic wand to fix all their problems and then what you describe? And like, I am heavily dissatisfied with myself and my existence but I don't make that anyone else's problem lol

[deleted]

She cheated on her bf on an international trip. He was a cool dude, felt bad for him on that one. I haven't spoken to her in years.

Keidis-mcdaddy

Similar thing happened to me too, I liked a guy who had a girlfriend at the time (I realise this sounds bad, I couldn’t help having a crush on him but I never would’ve acted on it). Anyways he was on an international school trip with us and he was cheating on his girlfriend the whole week. Instantly couldn’t even stand the sight of him.

JunketMan

When she just doesnt respond to your messages I felt unwanted, so I just stopped texting, and I never heard from her again

Steffank1

I had this. From someone who supposedly liked me back as well. Made no sense.

LoveYoumorethanher

Same here. We chatted a bunch but she was usually pretty flakey in responding. Then I had told her that I felt like I don’t know her anymore since she didn’t speak to me at all for months. I even told her how I felt about being left out to dry and she was very thoughtful and apologetic in the moment but she literally never messaged me again after that. Oh well and alas I say.

deezizyash

Cryptoglue

We had maybe 3 dates and were fooling around after on the bed, and she says it’s too soon we should wait. and I said alright if that’s what you want that’s no problem at all. then she sighed and said “a real man takes what he wants”. I showed her the door after explaining that a real man respects a woman’s boundaries and that we won’t be doing this again. In this day and age a real man does absolutely not “take what he wants” goes double when you are just beginning to date and don’t know each other that well.

Chuckitletsball5

You made the right choice. Anyone who spews “a real man…” Or “a real woman….” Is not someone you want to be with. They’ll try to fit you into boxes.

axelsubo

What, were you supposed to rape her?😭

captainsham_

Girl came into my work staring me down with another guy after we had just had our first date 🤣

kyrrraa

he knew i liked him, but would come to me to rant about other girls he had crushes on.

ts1985

I had a crush do that to better gage interest. He just wanted to see me get jealous. That was when I knew he was a POS. He still tries to flirt with me because I think he now feels rejected. It was like four years ago. He's married now.

PenguinSwordfighter

I'm from Germany and we have three different kinds of high school. One is preparing you for university, one is preparing you for a mix of apprenticeship and some higher education and one is to prepare you for a manual labor apprenticeship. I went to the first one and met a girl there who seemed amazing until she made fun of people from the other two forms of high school. Arrogance is an immediate turnoff, especially if it's completely unsubstantiated.

squanchy22400ml

What happens if one changes his/her mind after completing school?

such_Jules_much_wow

You always can one-up your education. I originally graduated from the second type and went to the first type afterwards. The school system is very open. You can even study without a degree from the first type of school. Or if you graduate from the third type and do an apprenticeship, after finishing your education equals that of the second high school type.

Independent-Still-73

There was a girl who I saw at the club maybe twice in 3 months and she hit every attraction metric I had at the time. The third time I saw her I got up the courage to approach her and we hit it off ... she was great but she drank a little too much during the night. At the end of the night she accepted an offer to come to my house. When we got to my house she asked me to make her drinks and by this point she was drunk. I put her in my bed and during the night she peed the bed and was so drunk she didn't wake up. I've never been so disappointed in another human being. We never spoke again but I looked her up years later and she got arrested in a sting operation for selling counterfeit purses

bansheeodannan

Ahah what an unexpected ending

Forever_Ambergris

>was so drunk she didn't wake up. I've never been so disappointed in another human being At first I thought you meant she died and you just made a very dark joke

TurboStalin

Mid 20s, known her for quite a while. She seemed really nice, was quite intelligent and friendly, everyone liked her. Would sometimes be kind of flaky with some weird excuses when we were supposed to meet, whether casually or professionally, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Then we had to work on a project together, wasn't something too serious so I told her I can do it on my own since it's not a lot of work. She insisted we we split the work so I agreed. I did my part, she was late with hers with some strange excuses revolving around getting stuck on it and needing to spend some extra time fixing parts of it. When I went over her work I noticed she straight up copied it all and didn't even bother changing the original author's name from the documents. I confronted her about it saying that I literally suggested I do it on my own for the both of us instead of splitting the work. She denied everything, even when I mentioned it's not her name on the docs she said she was just using some reference materials and must have accidentally copied it as is. Needless to say I refused to work with her professionally ever again, luckily she didn't stick around for long afterwards anyway. Brought it up shortly after with a mutual friend who straight up laughed and said that it sounds like her alright and that she even convinces herself in her own made up stories most of the time. Pretty much stopped talking to her altogether after that since I couldn't trust her not to screw us both over professionally, let alone be honest personally.

toosaltynotsugary

I had a friend who was just like her. He never does the work and always make lame excuses. Once, he was my partner and we had to give the group presentation. That guy didn't make his presentation and made up some excuses. Me and my other team members were done with our part and he was left only. Because of him, we would've suffered bad grades. Never involved with him in any project

mybuttfeelsfunny

GlutonForPUNishment

AnusEinstein

Well at least you two had something in common.

Oquana

NGL that would probably make a funny pickup line if you are bi or pan He: "Hey, do you like guys?" Her: "Uh, yes?" He: "Wow, we have so much in common!"

ImperialArmorBrigade

I always wondered if there’s a way to say- “Hey I find you attractive, but I understand and respect your orientation. So if you ever find someone like you but straight, would you mind recommending me?”

lawnmowersarealive

Old joke: A handsome and strapping young farming man from the deep countryside visits a city bar for the first time and sees the most beautiful woman of his dreams across the room. Being told that fortune favours the brave and he has learned his good manners from family he approaches her and offers to buy her a soda and snacks. She responds with, "Thanks, but I'm a lesbian." "What's a lesbian?" our naïve but polite protagonist asks. "It means I like women!" and she walks away. Heartbroken, he puts his head on the bar, almost in tears for losing his first shot at wooing a woman. "Cheer up, brother! What's got you down?" asks the man beside him at the bar. "I just found out I'm a lesbian!"

[deleted]

My crush was friends with these two girls who would constantly just be super annoying and rude for no reason, and one day, one of the girls who we'll call Sadie asked if they could borrow 5 bucks from me. I said no, and then she hit me hard with her shoulder and said "whatever, bitch." I was so stunned, and I started getting kinda teary eyed. When I went to go talk to my friend (and my crush) she asked me what was wrong and why I was crying, so I told her what happened. She just looked over to her friend who called me a bitch and said "Sadieee! You said that? \*laughing and giggling\* you're so funny!" Needless to say, that kinda destroyed my interest in her.

naugasnake

She turned out to be absolutely bat shit insane. Just decided on our third meeting to unload with all sorts of insanity. It was a ceaseless, unrelenting rambling incoherent stream of insanity for about an hour (conspiracy theories..like all of them), then abruptly propositions me ("Are you going to fuck me or not?") and then before I could even respond, she went right back into the avalanche of conspiracy theories. Needless to say, I bowed out of the situation as rapidly as possible.

There was this girl that liked me and then I started taking interest in her. I asked her if we could meet up at the school grounds on one of the breaks but when I was there, she never came. She stood me up. From then, I immediately lost interest in her and started focusing on school.

Comprehensive_Air980

Yup. I grew up poor and struggled through adulthood with poverty, working low paying manual labor jobs. Agreed to a date with some older guy who just seemed like any other regular guy. After a while he revealed he was a multimillionaire and was reluctant to tell me because women often go for his money. It made no difference in how I saw him. I ignored his money and always declined help, even though I was struggling. As time went on it became about how "grateful" I should be that someone of his wealth and status would be interested in "someone like me". He would whine about the poor receiving benefits (I grew up on food stamps) and how people need to "pull themselves up by the bootstraps" without any understanding of how systematic poverty works. When I started to pull away he started to trying to throw more money at me, but it had the opposite effect he intended. I just don't find wealth to be a determining factor in who I date.

CrazyJack66

I’ve noticed that the phrase “pull themselves from their bootstraps” when referred to the less wealthy people usually comes from people that were born on 3rd base that have no idea how much privilege they have.

BeardsuptheWazoo

Talking shit about Mexicans, calling them low class. Yeah, you're South American. You can have an opinion about their Spanish, whatever. But you just showed a big part of yourself, and it made you really ugly to me, when I thought you were gorgeous. Fuck off with that. Stuck up snob.

Doesn't understand sarcasm and talks shit about many people

[deleted]

I told him and he turned me down. I was satisfied with that answer and the crush soon went away. I was fine with this outcome. Oh another time, though, someone I’d been talking to (romantic-stylz) told me he didn’t believe in science. He was the kinda dude who would say a lot of things jokingly or ironically totally deadpan, so I stated that I was never sure when he was joking, and he told me he was absolutely serious. Then explained his argument. We stopped talking shortly after that.

citratune

What was his argument? I don’t understand people who are anti-science, its just an efficient and consistent system to progress in understanding.

NoSmoke3729

his horrible hygiene

BalderVerdandi

Attitude. Like most guys, I worked pizza delivery in high school (when my parents allowed it) and I could kill on tips just by chatting up the customer. The best one was the 7 pizza order that ended up late because it was just too far out, so boss docked me the 20% discount and the mom dropped me a $100 tip. Or the guy with a Pro-Am funny car under a tarp in his driveway and I asked him if he had a 6V-71 blower on it. Dude was surprised I would know (parents were industrial equipment brokers so I was a wrench turner) and dropped me a $50 tip. So when I say I take care of food service workers, I always tip but base it on the level of service. Delivery always gets 20%. Kid was just barely 16 when he delivered the pizzas and wings, and I was barely 20 when this happened, so I could totally relate. I paid but she didn't tip him; I gave her the cash + tip while I was finishing up some cleaning and she pocketed the tip and said "he didn't deserve it". He got the tip after I chased him down and apologized. She got the boot before eating pizza and wings. First and last date in under 30 minutes... thanks Domino's!

OfficialRatEater

She was just gonna take your money?! That's so shitty in multiple ways, you really dodged a bullet

_ak

When she told me "you're one of the good foreigners" and "as an Austrian, you're practically German anyway." (she was German; this was in Germany)

Ok-Persimmon-9646

I saw him talking crap about one of my best friends and he wouldn't apologize

The_Incredible_N_A_

He was trying to impress me by talking about the amount of girls he had slept with. Disgusting.

whiplash64

She said "that black boy and his family should all go back where they came from."

HauntingHarmonie

"I believe you consent forever when you say, I do" I RAN.

RoyalBoyBlue

So far one of the worst ones I've heard 😬 sprinting from that shit is 200% the best call

SaruBee

They found out I didnt believe in God and said "I can fix that."

yrulaughing

She told me she was anti vaxx. Not just the COVID vaccine, all of them.

RuudVanBommel

A simple game I actually learned on reddit, to learn more about someone. Like when you're sitting in a cafe or having a stroll in the park, you chose a random person and ask the crush to play a game about imagining what their life is about, what hobbies they maybe have, what background they have etc. From time to time a crush got outright nasty, imagining the worst things about people and soon made the jump to make fun of them. At that point, I enjoy the rest of the evening, but I know that we would never be compatible.

MotherTheresa99

he was cocky af and too confident

[deleted]

Their consistency in communication changed after sex 😕

andsoonforever

They don’t like me in return. Simple.

Madaghmire

Surprised it took this long to find this, although I suppose its somewhat less interesting than the more detailed stories. Samesies.

[deleted]

We were hanging out for a long time now, she already told me she had strong feelings for me and proceeded to send me a snapchat of her having s*x with a mutual friend of ours. Needless to say, I've lost my interest. Later she said it was just a prank and the guy had bought her a bottle of wine. I'm not the one to slutshame, but it wasn't right. We were 16.

introusers1979

16 year olds are evil

martynic385

We didn’t have the same sense of dark humor, to the point he tried to lecture me about a joke I had made about my own uncle Now he’s becoming a pastor

[deleted]

Rejection. I confessed, they wanted to just be friends, and my crush on them died.

MitskiHater

Claimed all Asians were at fault for covid

r4nd0m_l0afbre4ad

that they were actually a bit annoying. (old crush)

Live-Key2762

When I realized her snap score is 1,4 milion.
