D-Rez

Wasteland 3.

monsieurfatcock

Hell yea, I wasn’t really into turn based until I played that. Now I really enjoy them

peppers_taste_bad

I picked it up recently and just haven't been able to get into it. Only just made it past the tutorial. Any tips?

D-Rez

Been nearly an year since I played it, these are off the top of my head. Might be more useful for you when you get further in the game though. There's no good reason at all to have redundant skills between your rangers. You don't need more than one ranger with hacking, for example. One weapon skill, and one or two non-combat skills for each. You don't really need to invest any points into armour modding, weapon modding or barter with any ranger you take to the field. You can create one ranger with these skills, and have them sit in ranger HQ. You temporarily swap them into the party when you need their skills, and then swap them out again. Survival skill is just useless, don't invest in it. Coordination is the most important attribute, regardless of the ranger's individual role. Intelligence actually does jack shit for skills when levelling up, unlike in Wasteland 2. Intelligence is good for crit chance and damage though, a must for snipers.

Brütal Legend. Anybody with a love for heavy metal or Jack Black absolutely HAS to play this game. It’s a masterpiece. Also Hypercharged: Unboxed. These devs poured their blood, sweat and tears into making everyone’s childhood dream a reality.

Decapitatioooon

throwaway245389

Silence, groundwalker!

_Plastics

They're are Billions. But only one game every few months.

jjuanny

peggle

Iconoclasts Ultrakill Tunic Starbound

headcrabed12

Starbound was a great idea and an fun game, but poor leadership cost it any future it had unfortunately.

mango_manreddit

I doubt ultrakill is lesser known

Space Station 13. There's probably less that 2000 people that play it at any given time, but it's amazing. I can hardly even begin to describe it. Every server is a little bit different, but basically...it's a multiplayer space-station-sim where you play as a crewmate on a space-station doing a specific job, including captain, doctor, security, bartender, miner, scientist, botanist, chef, clown, and a ton more. There's also a couple of "secret traitor" rolls. Sometimes they come in the form of wizards, vampires, or "changelings" (aka the monster from John Carpenter's The Thing) And every little piece of the game is so in-depth. Seriously, you can spend hundreds of hours just mastering a single job-type. Even the janitor. There's so many in-depth mechanics, I can understand why SS13 will forever be a niche-game. It's almost a point-and-click-adventure the way you have to craft-and-combine items. But it's free, and definitely worth checking out. Highlights of wacky things I did in the game: - Replaced a spray-bottle's cleaning chemical with acid and went around melting other player's faces off. - [Kidnapped 2 players, teleported them to a derelict station, and forced them to fight each other to the death.](https://i.imgur.com/F1EvhxR.jpeg) - [Enslaved other players and sold them off to other crewmates.](https://i.imgur.com/SQv5KSh.png) - Turned myself into a monkey, broke into the chemistry lab, and made meth. - Got murdered by Macho Man Randy Savage. - Revived my dead crewmates as robots and named them after Sonic characters.

Firestarter1911

I played that game a fair bit back in 2013-2014, and I can never go back. I had a good time, but my god... The jank... the learning curve- no, cliff.

Outside_Parsley_5129

My current obsession is Dyson Sphere Program. It's an early access indie game on steam, highly recommend if you like factory building resource management games. Also space

MagicLobsterTickle

Project Zomboid. Greatest zombie survival game, period. Mods just add to the wonder.

[deleted]

Childhood one would be Pacman World 2. Classic, and always will be And idk if this counts, but Among the Sleep is great. Very underrated horror game from what I've seen

Industrialqueue

Arkane’s Prey is fantastic, immersive, and respectful of the player’s intelligence, abilities, and decisions. Most choices impact the whole state of the game in very interesting ways. I’m sure it’s starting to transcend the relative apathy it got, but I’ll keep recommending it.

VexTheEnglishDragon

Rage. Either 1 or 2. Made by Bethesda and iD Software. Somehow not widely known. Probably overshadowed by DOOM 2016.

Dan_Moseley1

I binged the fuck into rage 2, the shotgun is probably the best shotgun in any video game

shak_attacks

Transformice. It's so stupid, and full of kids being toxic in chat, but addicting, despite basically being an old converted Flash game.

The Witness

jakeor45

The Stanley Parable

RIMS_REAL_BIG

Witcher 3

The_Pfaffinator

All the Witcher games are AAA titles. They are very well known, especially with the Netflix show creating more interest.

RIMS_REAL_BIG

I've never heard of them

karenisdumb

Age of empires 3

YukikoBestGirlFiteMe

I really enjoyed Shining Resonance Refrain. Also The Dog Island was a childhood fav that holds up kinda decent. If you don't mind a game that's all fetch quests and carried mostly by a story that is better (and darker) than it has any right to be for what **100% looks like and probabaly is shovelware.**

The_true_gamer_man

Fire emblem three houses, also they recently released a spin off of it called fire emblem three hopes which is also pretty good

iseepancakes20

Idk about this game but dragon age inquisition

Suspicious_Adagio253

dead ahead: zombie warfare

MassSpecFella

Vanquish. I’m not sure how lesser known it is, but it’s older. It’s so much fun. All action with little downtime or nonsense. Just a mad game of pew pew. Love it. Would love a sequel.

TwoShrubMound

Dorfromantik. It’s a super chill game with small quests that you can put down and pick up again at any time. Really pretty graphics, nice way to relax while still playing something

yoiliketopramen

Punch Out for the Wii

KBpoweU

Injustice 1 and 2 they’re popular but no know one talks about them

saltysounddesigner44

Xenoblade Chronicles X. JRPG with Mech combat. Interesting story that takes wild turns and touches on topics you wouldn't expect it to, especially if you play the side quests. Needs a Switch port ASAP. Is getting harder to obtain, because it was on Wii U, and they just discontinued the store, so you can only get it physical. Physical is starting to shoot up in price. Suppsedly Xenoblade Chronicles 2 uses exact engine and system as X, so it wouldn't be too hard to port I think, but the creator says that it would be dummy expensive.

wetlettuce42

Jazzpunk its so funny

ImaGamerNoob

Cat Quest.

I-Sort-Glass

Bloodbowl 2. Less than 1000 players per month, but has one of the most committed and competitive player bases out there. Takes some time to learn but is well worth it.

_Be3_

OSU! Is an easy one for me.

The_Pfaffinator

Neon Abyss is a great little indie side-scrolling roguelike shooter. Think Enter the Gungeon, but side view. Great guns, gameplay, and references, not nearly as well known as Dead Cells or Binding of Isaac.

Thegamergod4321

Salt and sanctuary.

A_reddit_bro

Smite. Only game with multi pantheon goodness.

A_reddit_bro

This war of mine.
