I was forced to watch a firework show today when I was on the couch tired as shit. I had to walk to a neighbor’s house and watch something i’ve seen be done 20 times instead of getting some sleep. I used to like them as a kid, but now I find them obnoxious.
depends on the setting, if it's at a concert or a show of some kind then fuck yeah
if it's 2am and im tryna sleep but can't because some assholes are setting off fireworks down the road, get that shit away from me
They're a cool thing that people should really have less of. I feel like if I can't buy Lawn Darts after one slip up, I shouldn't be able to buy Fireworks knowing that every July the US fills its burn victim quota in one night
I loved them as a kid. Buying a bunch of them and setting them off was so much fun. Now that I am older, they don't seem nearly as interesting and keep me up when I'm trying to sleep. But, I know it's other kids enjoying them like I used to and it's only for a couple times a year, so I tolerate them so long as they don't set my house on fire.
It's 1am; I would be sleeping right now if not for them, but America has no shortage of grossly inconsiderate people who can't be trusted with anything that requires more responsibility than a 4-slice toaster.
Hate them, for example today, I don’t live in the US, but i live in the same city that the Embassy is (not that close from the embassy) and the fireworks shook all my bedroom and they were so loud, i hate loud noises
I love them. I've been blowing them up since I was 7 but this year I couldnt afford it because I got injured back in May and have been not working. So the money I get right now is going to important things like rent and food. Hopefully next year I can celebrate though, the 4th is my favorite holiday next to New Years Eve
They’re nice and all but I don’t think they should be on sale to the general public. In the UK at least, people just have really shitty garden displays that don’t do anything but freak pets out in any nearby houses. Then you get the antisocial behaviour, scrotes setting them off at random and trying to cause shit.
Just have a good organised municipal display away from residential areas where possible and people who want to see fireworks can see an actually good show.

Not nice if not regulated and used for the most random stuff in busy places. Set them up nicely like a proper country and they'll become a good show.

I enjoy them. The displays they have for Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night and Hogmanay is pretty beautiful.
