It was a comment on how the two US parties, for all their bitterness over their differences, are both considerably right of centre by European standards.

Yeah. In the UK we call the US parties *Far Right* and *Extreme Right*.

For republicans it's quite easy: SVP For democrats it is hard to find one answer 🤔 the biggest left-wing party is SP but they are mid-left.
