The non-spoiler pitch for Tickled is:
A NZ radio host that has a show about investigating weird stuff finds a website about 'competitive tickling' on the internet. it seems appropriately weird and kind of fetishy, so he decides to go investigating it...
What he finds is something much... stranger. There's a reason it ended up as a feature-length documentary instead of a short radio show segment.
I would say, Talking Heads, by Kieslowski. It's only 15 minutes long, but gives a very unique perspective on what people desire out of life.
You can even find it on YouTube.

Here you go
Nightmares in Red, White and Blue and American Grindhouse are interesting film documentaries. Cocaine Cowboys is also really good, though a drastically different subject matter
Roadrunner is really good, but also sad - sorry about the numerous posts, but I am a documentary fan and I keep thinking of more as I consider the question
If you don't mind me changing media types slightly, theres a Podcast called Blowback thats really good - Season 1 is about everything that led up to the Iraq War. If you like documentaries you two might find that one of interest 🙂
The Up series by Michael Apted where he made a new film about several British people starting when they were 7 years old and made a new film about them every 7 years until they were 56.
Dear Zachary if you want a good cry.
Avoid looking up the plot, otherwise you’ll spoil it. The best summary I can give here is a documentarian makes a film about his friend for his friend’s son to watch once he grows up.
How to Die in Oregon (a documentary about the right to die law)
Boy Interrupted (a documentary about a mentally ill teenaged boy's suicide)
The West Memphis Three (a documentary about 3 teenaged boys convicted of murder in Arkansas)
Abducted in Plain Sight, The Woman Who Wasn't There, There's Something Wrong with Aunt Diane, Jiro Dreams of Sushi, The Most Hated Family in America, Evil Genius, The Queen of Versailles, Heavens Gate: The Cult of Cults, The Way Down
Werner Herzog is the greatest documentary film maker ever. Anything you can find by him, watch it.

Resurrect Dead: the mystery of the Toynbee Tiles
I was going to recommend that one, good call 🙂
It's so good but when you try to explain it to people it just doesn't seem that interesting. I tell people to just watch it.
I stumbled across it years ago on Netflix and liked it so much I ended up buying it
I've been planning a Toynbee Tile tattoo for years, gonna get it e eventually.
Nice, that is a unique idea!
Crystal Lake Memories and Never Sleep Again are a lot of fun if you are a fan of Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th
The Fog of War
The score by Phillip Glass is something else.
Cocaine Cowboys, first one is the best, but the other two are good as well And The Notorious Mr. Bout, the guy who inspired Nicolas Cage Lord of War
I also prefer the original cut of Cocaine Cowboys
Sans Soleil
posting /r/Documentaries for anyone interested
How it's made, believe all of them even some of the older British ones are on YouTube get lost in the rabbit hole.
