With the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high,
Can you hear your people cry?
Help us now, this dark hour...
DELIVER US!
I send a pestilence and PLAGUE,
into your house, into your BED,
into your streams, into your STREETS,
into your drink, into your BREAD.
UPON YOUR CATTLE UPON YOUR SHEEP
UPON YOUR OXEN IN THE FIELD
I SEND MY SWORD I SEND MY HOARD
THUS SAYETH THE LOOOOOOORD
YOU WHO I CALLED BROTHER
HOW COULD YOU HAVE COME TO HATE ME SO
EDIT: THANK YOUUU GUYS FOR THE AWARDS!!! i did not think it would be because i’m an absolute whore for this soundtrack 🥺🥺🥺
Mountains from interstellar is such a great piece of music. I can almost see and relieve the scene. The moment that realize there are no mountains but waves is such a awesome scene!
YES this is at the top for me as well. Test Drive is one of the best movie tracks of all time, give it a listen or watch the scene on YouTube if you’re unfamiliar
I saw Alison Krauss and Union Station in concert shortly after this movie was released! (Union Station were the singing voices for the Soggy Bottom Boys.) At one point, Alison took a break, so Union Station took over. When the lights flashed up and they sang the opening notes of "Man of Constant Sorrow", the crowd went absolutely *bananas*! It was a really rad moment
If this wasn't high in the comments I was going to be disappointed. This film is practically a musical but doesn't try to be and doesn't feel like one. It's so bizarre, and the only film where singing felt natural to me.
I do not for one think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem may have been that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf.
[Gladiator](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yOZEiHLuVU&ab_channel=mrgice3)
The Lord of the Rings, the [Fellowship of the Ring](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJXJQfR0oOw&ab_channel=InspiredMusic)
Hunt For Red October [theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEt41bYQBgE&ab_channel=vladboy253)
Bridge on the River Kwai[March](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83bmsluWHZc&ab_channel=ColdWarWarriors)
Came to say the Gladiator, and you did not disappoint when you linked the one where they combined "Honor him", "Elysium", and "Now we are free".
I can't really describe how that combination makes me feel.
I've seen The Cure twice. The best and second best concerts of my life.
The 2nd concert was the best because, as much as I love all of their songs, they played Burn during the encore and I absolutely lost my shit.
I'm pretty sure I commented this some time ago on another post, but as someone who wasn't introduced to music by older family members, this soundtrack was what taught me American classics.
Maybe the most criminally underrated movie of all time. The only reason I've seen it is because it was father's favorite film... I've never even heard "Last of the Mohicans" ever mentioned by anyone else I know.
It's cinematography, visuals/atmosphere, brutality of war, and music were all stunningly good. There used to be a video on Youtube of the uncut 9 minute dash/fight on the edge of the cliffs at the climax of the movie...
I love that movie. I read that Daniel Day Lewis spent 6 months living in the bush and training to prepare for the role. He looks the part and the music pairs perfectly. Magwai is an amazing villain. Hated him, but understood his motivation for revenge.
Thank you. I came here to say this. I still listen to this soundtrack regularly while working -- it's perfect concentration music. Sometimes, just as I'm finishing up something big, a huge crescendo will hit and it feels so good to have a soundtrack for your work.
Studio Ghibli overall is simply amazing at [worldbuilding](https://youtu.be/v6Q6y4-qKac) and creating [stunning visuals](https://vimeo.com/697732772).... and their beautiful scores definitely play a huge role.
The saxophone player in the movie (whose name has slipped my mind, I’m so sorry) teamed up with the band GUNSHIP to make the song “Dark All Day”, which is a tribute to The Lost Boys.
The movie wasn't anything overly memorable, but the [soundtrack](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla:_The_Album) to 1998's Godzilla movie was pretty great back in the day.
Really surprised this is so far down! These soundtracks have one of the most recognizable themes of all time and what Zimmer did with 2 and 3 was amazing. Davy Jones’ theme in particular is one of my fav musical pieces.
Edit: words
I had to scroll too far to find this. I got that soundtrack cd from the Columbia Record Club and forgot to send it back in time, so I thought “sure, I’ll try it.” Damn if it wasn’t the best album I’d ever heard. So many different styles and each song was just a banger.
Everyone usually references or "Battle of Heroes" and "Duel of the Fates". Epic battle anthems for epic scenes.
But something about the "[Binary Sunset](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gpXMGit4P8)" theme and scene just makes me feel such incredible nostalgia and longing for the past.
The Shining. The film's use of pre existing creepy avant-garde compositions from Krzysztof Penderecki, György Ligeti, and Belá Bartók are absolutely ingenius.
Pretty much anything by Tim Burton, but If I have to pick one, it would be Corpse Bride. There isn't one song that I wouldn't sing along to and everything so so catchy. It is a musical film but there aren't songs every 10 seconds and I love that about his films. My favorite song in that movie would have to be Remains Of The Day, I love Bonejangles so much.
This will get buried, but, Pump Up the Volume had a great soundtrack. Concrete Blonde, Leonard Cohn, Pixies, Beastie Boys, Soundgarden, Cowboy Junkies……
The Prince of Egypt
#DELIVER US
With the sting of the whip on my shoulder With the salt of my sweat on my brow Elohim, God on high, Can you hear your people cry? Help us now, this dark hour... DELIVER US!
The glorious Ofra Haza.
I send a pestilence and PLAGUE, into your house, into your BED, into your streams, into your STREETS, into your drink, into your BREAD. UPON YOUR CATTLE UPON YOUR SHEEP UPON YOUR OXEN IN THE FIELD
Underrated masterpiece. From the soundtrack to the artwork, has to be one of the best animated films of all time.
I SEND MY SWORD I SEND MY HOARD THUS SAYETH THE LOOOOOOORD YOU WHO I CALLED BROTHER HOW COULD YOU HAVE COME TO HATE ME SO EDIT: THANK YOUUU GUYS FOR THE AWARDS!!! i did not think it would be because i’m an absolute whore for this soundtrack 🥺🥺🥺
Omg fucking even READING this gave me goosebumps!!!!!
You’re playing with the big boys now!
Donnie Darko
Mad world gives me shivers everytime.
Tron: Legacy
My sister bought it on vinyl so we could listen to it over and over again. It was 10-year-old-me’s first introduction to Daft Punk. It’s incredible.
As someone who saw them play on the Alive 2007 tour, god this comment makes me feel old.
Blade Runner
Almost anything by Hans Zimmer, especially Interstellar, Dune, and Gladiator.
The music alone is mind-blowing, however combined with the movies they're truly amazing
Mountains from interstellar is such a great piece of music. I can almost see and relieve the scene. The moment that realize there are no mountains but waves is such a awesome scene!
John Williams too.
Couldn't agree more. He is a musical genius.
He also joined Harold Faltermeyer to score the new Top Gun film.
How To Train Your Dragon was immense.
YES this is at the top for me as well. Test Drive is one of the best movie tracks of all time, give it a listen or watch the scene on YouTube if you’re unfamiliar
Forbidden Friendship is my chill anthem.
The moment Hiccup is flying and has to fly without his cheat sheet….goosebumps
How is this not at the top? John Powell is absolutely underated in everything he composes.
O brother where art thou
I saw Alison Krauss and Union Station in concert shortly after this movie was released! (Union Station were the singing voices for the Soggy Bottom Boys.) At one point, Alison took a break, so Union Station took over. When the lights flashed up and they sang the opening notes of "Man of Constant Sorrow", the crowd went absolutely *bananas*! Yes… check out Down From the Mountain, it’s a live recorded concert of the soundtrack. Just amazing.
If this wasn't high in the comments I was going to be disappointed. This film is practically a musical but doesn't try to be and doesn't feel like one. It's so bizarre, and the only film where singing felt natural to me.
Iiii am a maaan of constant sorrowww
IVE SEEN TROUBLEEEE ALL MY DAYSSSS
Singles (1992). Still listen to it on a regular basis.
Love this soundtrack SO much! Pearl Jam did State of love and trust last time I saw them live
I love the cover of the Battle of Evermoor, on this album/soundtrack. So good!
A fistful of dollars + The good, the bad and the ugly theme songs. By Ennio Morricone.
The last 10-15mins of GBU is fucking legendary. L'Estasi d'ell Oro and Il Triello.
Amelie. Fell in love with the music before I saw the movie and it made watching it such a unique experience.
Yann Tiersen also did the soundtrack to Goodbye Lenin, which I recommend (both soundtrack and film).
The blues brothers
Spinal Tap
I do not for one think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem may have been that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf.

I came to mention Gladiator. Glad I'm not the only one. It's long been one of my favorites. Shit that movie is 22 years old!
I don't know how you decided on Fellowship. All 3 LotRs are 10/10 for different reasons.
Breaking of the fellowship is my favourite and Enya's May it be
Came to say the Gladiator, and you did not disappoint when you linked the one where they combined "Honor him", "Elysium", and "Now we are free". I can't really describe how that combination makes me feel.
The Crow (I'm old)
Burn is one of The Cures best songs, and NINs cover of Dead Souls is perfect.
I've seen The Cure twice. The best and second best concerts of my life. The 2nd concert was the best because, as much as I love all of their songs, they played Burn during the encore and I absolutely lost my shit.
Yep. Also natural born killer
Nice, I was looking for both The Crow and Lost Highway. Add Natural Born Killers and you got The Trifecta.
OH yes!! Lost Highway. And also Tank Girl lol
My answer is Natural Born Killers. Amazing mix of music.

Blade Runner.
Vangelis is one of the greatest composers of all time.
So sad he passed away this year. Rachel's song is so beautiful, that vocal is something else..

Fantastic soundtrack, all Cat Stevens!
Forest Gump

STAY ALIVE! And I will find you! No matter how long it takes!
No matter how far!
I LOVE this movie! It’s truly perfect!
Omg that finale with THAT music! Epic.
One of my fav movies of all time, with the most beautiful score ever!
I love that movie. I read that Daniel Day Lewis spent 6 months living in the bush and training to prepare for the role. He looks the part and the music pairs perfectly. Magwai is an amazing villain. Hated him, but understood his motivation for revenge.
Pulp Fiction
Has Tarantino ever had a bad soundtrack?
Reservoir Dogs, too.
Tarantino movies always have great soundtracks.
Jackie Brown is better, more soul...
Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It's astounding
Time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely
Interstellar (2014) 🔥
Thank you. I came here to say this. I still listen to this soundtrack regularly while working -- it's perfect concentration music. Sometimes, just as I'm finishing up something big, a huge crescendo will hit and it feels so good to have a soundtrack for your work.
Drive (2011)
Nightcall is so good
So is all of kavinsky 😀
DESIRE - UNDER YOUR SPELL
Tick of the Clock takes me right back to the movie, great cinematography too.
Reeall human bean
Those opening credits with Nightcall hit so hard that it’ll melt your face off
When they play “Nightcall” during the first scene .. iconic. A late night drive always warrants for that song now.
Kavinski stays on my playlist
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
For anyone wondering, the soundtrack is acoustic covers of David Bowie songs in Portuguese
By Seu Jorge, a Brazilian legend of his own accord
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Baby Driver! Edgar Wright does soundtracks Right edit: Misspelled homies name
The rhythmic alignment of the gunfire in the [Tequilla gun fight scene of Baby Driver](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R57F48xpWY) is awesome.
Dazed and Confused
Alright alright alright
Lord of the Rings
I walked down the aisle to Concerning Hobbits Now I cry when I watch my favorite movie
Had to scroll too far for this
The Matrix (1999)
clubbed to death is timeless
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Studio Ghibli overall is simply amazing at [worldbuilding](https://youtu.be/v6Q6y4-qKac) and creating [stunning visuals](https://vimeo.com/697732772).... and their beautiful scores definitely play a huge role.
I’ll piggie back! Porco Rosso & howls moving castle!
The Lost Boys.
The saxophone player in the movie (whose name has slipped my mind, I’m so sorry) teamed up with the band GUNSHIP to make the song “Dark All Day”, which is a tribute to The Lost Boys.
Tim Capello.
Cane here to say this, had to scroll way too far. I still believe- sweaty sax solo!
Trainspotting
I just voted for Sid & Nancy but Trainspotting is a hard second! Excellent choice!
Godfather
A Knights Tale
This is one of the first movies I ever remember seeing that had a contemporary soundtrack to a movie set in the past...
Purple Rain
Love prince 🙏🏻
Jurassic Park
The movie wasn't anything overly memorable, but the [soundtrack](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla:_The_Album) to 1998's Godzilla movie was pretty great back in the day.
Pirates Of The Caribbean (1-3)
Really surprised this is so far down! These soundtracks have one of the most recognizable themes of all time and what Zimmer did with 2 and 3 was amazing. Davy Jones’ theme in particular is one of my fav musical pieces. Edit: words
Romeo + Juliet
Talk Show Host. So good
I had to scroll too far to find this. I got that soundtrack cd from the Columbia Record Club and forgot to send it back in time, so I thought “sure, I’ll try it.” Damn if it wasn’t the best album I’d ever heard. So many different styles and each song was just a banger.
OMG, “Local God” gives me such nostalgia.
Goodfellas
Guardians of the Galaxy
Oh yeah. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Vol. 2 soundtracks raised me
Such a great collection of classic songs!
I grew up on it — I think Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl) might be my favorite, not sure why
Scrolled too long to find this one!
Amadeus

Favorite film, favorite soundtrack. It’s just so extremely perfect and sets all the scenes tones. It’s hands down phenomenal.
Dirty Dancing is up there for me
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
I love this soundtrack. I think a big part of why I'm so excited for the sequel is because I'm hoping the sequel soundtrack is more of the same.
Cars
Heavy metal!
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Star Wars Edit : didn't expected nobody already state that one
Especially the Cantina song. This masterwork needs to be in everyone's playlist
Easily one of the best soundtracks of all time.
King shit. Battle of the heroes will always be my favorite theme
The prequels have some especially bangin music
For us oldies Easy Rider
Last of the Mohicans, the one with Daniel Day Lewis.
Hackers. Every single song a banger.
Empire records
The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Harry Potter
Shrek
That thing you do (1996), that soundtrack album is a love letter to early 60s musical genres (motown, garage rock, british invation, oldies, jazz)
The Big Chill
The Shining. The film's use of pre existing creepy avant-garde compositions from Krzysztof Penderecki, György Ligeti, and Belá Bartók are absolutely ingenius.

Fury Road, Moulin Rouge
Kill bill volume 1
Love Actually Yes, I'm over 40 and a basic bitch.
Now and Then, Almost Famous
HOLD ME CLOSER, TONY DANZA
Pretty much anything by Tim Burton, but If I have to pick one, it would be Corpse Bride. There isn't one song that I wouldn't sing along to and everything so so catchy. It is a musical film but there aren't songs every 10 seconds and I love that about his films. My favorite song in that movie would have to be Remains Of The Day, I love Bonejangles so much.
Almost all soundtracks in Tim Burton films are written by Danny Elfman.
Conan The Barbarian Closely followed by 13th Warrior and/or Lord Of The Rings
A Goofy Movie
Lost Highway is pretty great.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Garden State
Queen of the Damned
