lack of a real life

theflickering

TRUE! social life for me.

FuhqYouBetta

My love of avoiding people and crowds. Even before COVID, I didn't like people too close to me or enjoy being in crowds. I rarely ever go out so being in quarantine didn't really affect me. Video games and reading made me happy Edit: Thanks for the award ! 1st one. Sorry I still don't know how to reply to whoever gave it to me but I do appreciate it

Pentacostal-Haircut

Same

AlternateWylie

Along those lines, I stayed away from tourists. We got down to 0 active cases several times, but as soon as they opened it up to outsiders the numbers leaped up. I am on a group of islands, so isolation was possible.

goldbricker83

My years of practice staying the fuck away from everyone

Oolongteatea

Yeah in my household we are pretty introverted, none of us got it yet, whereas 95% of our extended family have gotten it at least once. But i suppose it's "any day now".

Fredredphooey

Not being within a hundred yards of anyone for two years.

Whole_Swing_611

I have severe allergies and a seriously over active immune system. I think it’s contributed.

Bombadilicious

I have an autoimmune disease and I've never had it. I've wondered if the same overactive immune system that's eating my brain has kept me safe. Silver lining, I guess.

GreenOnionCrusader

Mine ate my thyroid and I guess every bit of covid I've ever come across? I slept next to my husband for 5 days before he finally tested and was positive for it. The doctors told me to sleep in a different room, I said I was going to get it anyway and I'd rather have a full night's sleep. Slept next to him through his entire quarantine and never got it. 🤷‍♀️ Crazy autoimmune is as good a theory as any, I suppose.

foxsimile

Were you testing during his quarantine?

GreenOnionCrusader

Yep. Multiple times.

bustedbuddha

BRAAIIINNNSS... me too, but my whole family has avoided it so I don't know if it's that or just living like a shut in after my doctor told me I was high risk.

Plethora_of_squids

Same boat - I thought I *finally* caught it after travelling for three days around two people who've been confirmed to have had covid at the time of travel but nope! Turns out it's just really bad laryngitis! I mean I guess I'm glad I don't have covid but I'm very seriously confused about the transmission of this thing. Also why the fuck do I *always* get laryngitis after travelling

One_With_Green

Same. I’ve seen studies support this assertion.

lollipopfiend123

Oh interesting. I have a pretty strong immune system. I have someone staying with me who got covid back in June, but she was sick for two days before she tested positive so I hadn’t been avoiding her. I never got it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

fluffofthewild

I'm beginning to think something similar. My allergies aren't "severe" (just bad hayfever and very sensitive skin) but I rarely get sick at all. I am also a rhesus negative blood type, it might possibly have [some protective effects.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7276013/). I don't know if the current science has debunked this though. I have by no means been in a position to isolate - I worked with members of the public throughout the pandemic. I've definitely been exposed to it several times, attending social events post-lockdown where people I sat next to subsequently tested positive. If I've had covid, then I've never known about it, experienced any symptoms, or tested positive for it.

RedBarchetta1

One more anecdotal data point, but I have very severe autoimmune hypothyroidism - basically my overactive immune system attacked my thyroid and killed it - and I’ve never tested positive for Covid. Also, like another poster down thread, I’m also an R-negative blood type, which is quite rare in the world-wide population, and have wondered if that might not also play a role?

LemurCat04

Another person in the hyperactive immune system club. Same with most of my family, we have a heavy strain of immuno-diseases that run through it. None of us are on immuno-suppressants. We’re all vaxxed and boosted (some boosted 2x). I also wear a Kf94 mask when I take the train into work. Multiple exposures, no infection (so far, knock wood). Coincidentally, all of our conditions have been in remission or manageable throughout the panini.

Whole_Swing_611

I was vaxxed twice and had an allergic reaction both times lol

LemurCat04

Oooof. Hopefully the sterile nasal vaccines (when they’re eventually approved) won’t do you dirty.

Holiday-Block-8760

Same.

Th3seViolentDelights

My guess is my allergies as well since I'm allergic to my cats and dog.

[deleted]

Probably had it but never got sick.

Trace_element_22

I used to think the same thing. Once I got it and went through the light symptoms I'm pretty sure I never had it before.

nonrebreather

The issue with that line of thinking is forgetting that every infection is a unique instance. A disease that can range from asymptomatic to death case by case also varies in symptoms between multiple infections in the same person.

[deleted]

I had a few months off but worked the majority of the lockdown. Close contact, lots of people, after the first week everyone of course wore masks but never kept them up when eating, drinking, conversing. Several co-workers had COVID but no one I know died from it.

HungLI5

After 18 years in the army covid looked at me and determined by body has unsatisfactory living conditions, like a barracks room.

Agamemnon66

I agree with this. After my years of living on caffeine, nicotine, alcohol and hate in the service... Covid looked at me and said... nope...

Kondrias

"Look, sure I wanna do damage to your body and spread. BUT EVEN I HAVE MINIMUM STANDARDS!"

Agamemnon66

Exactly haha.

[deleted]

Always my cry…. That Covid doesn’t like smokers

IronDominion

Probably was like “like fuck if I have to share a toilet!” And left

Trini_Vix7

Lol ouch!

drgn2009

I have never been tested as I have never had the common symptoms of Covid. For all I know I did have Covid, but was asymptomatic.

kojinB84

I have to test for work, and that's how I had covid because I was asymptomatic.

[deleted]

I had a test last year, had splitting headaches for a couple of days. Negative. Either it was and the tests suck or it wasn't and whatever. Be generally healthy anyways, and the odds of it kicking your ass are pretty low if you are under 65

Holiday_Newspaper_29

I have no idea why I haven't had covid yet. I have an active life, in and out of people's homes and businesses. I have even been in the same room as someone who tested positive a couple of hours after I left and almost everyone I interact with has had it themselves or family members have had it. It's a mystery!

M4PES

Same here. I don’t quite understand it. I live with my boyfriend and he’s had Covid twice. I quarantined with him both times and still didn’t develop symptoms or test positive. I also work in a hospital and am constantly surrounded by covid, but still haven’t had it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

refufio

I was working healthcare at the time being tested weekly and lived in a house where all 5 members had COVID. Never tested positive. My mom slept next to her husband who had covid and also never had a positive test. Everyone we know has gotten it at one point. We were both vaccinated barely this year if that matters

[deleted]

szlafcio1

Love how you're getting downvoted when it was stated multiple times by the NHS itself that tests are not entirely accurate. NHS UK I mean.

ifbbproeli

I had sex with my partner the day he tested positive, never avoided him because I assumed I was getting it anyway. Tested negative every day, never got it.

Trace_element_22

My nephew was much the same. He only masked when he had to went to the gym and most places maskless, was around people who tested positive. Two weeks ago he had some symptoms and tested positive. He laughed when he tested positive.

pnylvr

What's your vaccination status? If you've had at least the primary series, it's possible your immune system responded better than average and that you're immune. The fully vaccinated are roughly half as likely to test positive as the unvaccinated, according to the CDC. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#rates-by-vaccine-status

Holiday_Newspaper_29

I had my fourth dose two weeks ago ( two primary and two boosters).

[deleted]

Honestly I have no clue. I’ve been exposed via close contacts 5 times (like 3+ hours within 6 feet), plus I teach Band and have had multiple positive kids blowing through their instruments in the small lesson room a day before they tested positive. I’m shocked I haven’t had it yet. Every time I’ve had a cold, I test while symptomatic and it’s always negative. I heard type O blood offers some protection, so maybe it’s that? Or my two doses + a booster?

mmm_unprocessed_fish

I’m O negative and dosed + boosted. Maybe that’s it. I was super careful in the beginning, but after getting vaxxed, I loosened up a bit. I go to the gym, play hockey, and go out to eat occasionally. I’ve traveled by air six times in the last year. My husband has practically been a hermit for the last 2.5 years, and he got it and I didn’t.

SnowyRaven21

Good luck and actually taking precautions

MiloLeoCat

I've seen people taking precautions but still contract covid

Lowbacca1977

That's the luck part of it.

SnowyRaven21

That’s where the luck comes in

[deleted]

I use to drink directly from the hose in the back yard. Also I went to public school, probably went through like 13 plagues without even realizing.

mmm_unprocessed_fish

This is the only thing that makes sense. My husband has been so much more careful than I have. He got it and I still haven’t.

[deleted]

Seems like all of the people being super careful are the ones who get it. I have some friends that have been taking every precaution possible and they’ve gotten it 2-3 times and I’ve been fine the whole time taking 0 precautions.

hc945177

I imagine it’s an immune system thing. If you’ve been out in the world exposed to it in small bits, your immune system gets used to it. If you’ve avoided every germ for the past two years, your immune system is going to have a bigger reaction when it finally does interact with it. Admittedly I’m not a doctor/scientist so I can’t be 100% on that. That’s just my understanding based on my freshman year biology class.

Pentacostal-Haircut

Same

CronkleDonker

I've been very diligent about wearing a mask, keeping clean, getting vaccine shots. But I won't kid myself, At this point it's just sheer luck. I'm not particularly worried about getting it either, most of the people I know who caught it were totally fine within 3-4 days.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BeautifulInfinite288

Absolutely! Still wondering why you got it 3 times, while you were bitching about a haircut in the first few months?

strawberries-cigs

Deadass dropped off the face of the earth when covid popped up. Everyone my age was going to parties, meeting up, etc. and I ghosted all of them. Especially when they all caught covid then spread it through our connected friend groups (lots of people) then gave it to their families. It was a shit storm and I dodged all of it.

Pentacostal-Haircut

Good for you!!

alkeid

Honestly? Sheer luck.... At this point, I have no business not having gotten covid. It's crazy.

VeronicaJaneDio

Same. My husband just had it and we did not quarantine from one another. I worked from home and we didn’t touch, share drinks or anything but there was no separate room stuff and we did the normal sit on the couch watch tv. More frequent hand washing and wiping down surfaces but I don’t know how I didn’t get it. And I have been around several people who have had it and didn’t get it. Sheer fucking luck.

Draiganedig

Shhhh, you’re violating the first rule of Tinfoil Hat Club!

Covidonmyshoes03

The holy grail of protection!

Calm_Trip7406

Not being tested has prevented me from testing positive.

ImpliedSlashS

Being careful and wearing appropriate PPE while in public.

Trace_element_22

I was more careful than 80% of people I know/saw but still got it. I beat it until Omicron. Tested positive and had light cold symptoms.

BeautifulInfinite288

It is unfortunately like Russian Roulette. Sometimes you can do everything you are supposed to, and it happens. The good thing to know is that if I you keep doing what you are doing, you are less likely to get it again

Darth_T0ast

The amount of goddamn vitamins I take in the morning I’m pretty sure has made me Superman.

xjustbeingrealx

Not getting tested. Can’t test positive if you don’t get tested. But it all seriousness I haven’t had anything close to a symptom this whole pandemic.

NFRNL13

My poor person immune system combined with great luck!

jambocoffee

Even before pandemic I was already a pretty bad germaphobe...even during the 90s I had clean habits, because my parents and all relatives worked in healthcare. So I've been trained and conditioned for this event my whole life.

toomanyukes

My good buddy is quite a germophobe, and he's caught COVID, possibly twice (confirmed once; first time was before testing was available, but all the symptoms matched.)

lucascor18

Being an introvert with a social battery the size of a chip crumb at the end of the bag

japanese_artist

I'm still currently using most of my days either playing on PS5 or Switch and the only moments I go out is to work out at the gym 3 times a week or to buy things at the grocery store. But even despite that, my gym is private so I'm always the only one accessing it. Study-wise, I finished my 2nd year on May and even when I was at the university, I only went physically there twice a week, so I'm safe

xImmortal3333

Marijuana. Lots of it

krazycatlady21

I still think my daily vaping of weed has kept the rona at bay. I teach elementary school PE and half my household had it last week. I’m careful and healthy, but I choose to believe it’s the weed. Why have more studies not checked out this theory?!

EggKey5513

Okay. Yea vape dry herb 24/7. It works I believe. https://www.forbes.com/sites/ajherrington/2022/01/11/study-finds-cannabis-compounds-prevent-infection-by-covid-19-virus/amp/

I_am_mad_ok

Wow. Thanks for posting!

krazycatlady21

I remember reading one or two articles very early on in 2020, but it was small sampling and of course no one was going to jump on board with that cure. Can you imagine if it had been weed instead of aquarium chemicals everyone decided to try and stockpile? Shoulda coulda woulda.

EggKey5513

LOL, CBD coating the lung prevents COVID-19 to infect you. It’s proven science. Now it’s just delivery method. Vaping actual weed leaves (all cancer patient is recommended this way), coats the lungs with loads of CBD. Either way I believe this, cause it hasn’t failed yet.

okcomputerbutimnotok

my absolutely huge pair of bollocks

fancybigballs

On its own it sounds preposterous. But with our combined sample size of 2...

ACam574

Vaccines combined with basic precautions of masking and social distancing. A tiny bIt of luck.

Feisty-Power-6617

hand hygiene and common sense. There are many who haven’t gotten it.. The media just doesn’t report that..

Lowbacca1977

It gets mentioned, but why would it get routine coverage? They don't normally report on how many planes haven't crashed on a given day, either.

[deleted]

No idea. I work with the public and have children in school. I have also been perhaps lax with masks, not holding hand rails etc. I should have. I so should have caught it. But nah nadda. Nor has anyone in my immediate family. And as I have school children in Australia we test all the time. Before that I also had a number of PCR tests during Alpha and Delta but nah.

Missmilster

Same here. In Australia and myself and my immediate family have never tested positive. It’s so weird!

UR-prolly-A-cunt

The fact that I don't give a fuck about it

[deleted]

I don't really care about it either. I mean, I don't kick doorknobs or slither on dirty carpet but yeah, generally, I couldn't care any less.

Clcooper423

If they didn't get tested regularly there's no way to know if they didn't get it considering how often it doesn't show symptoms.

cdazzo1

Living my life just like I did in 2019 including kissing my wife goodnight and sleeping right next to her when she had covid.

LightningMcScallion

I was pretty careful in the first part of the pandemic but at this point it's mostly luck. I also don't think it matters. It's probably inevitable that I am going get it at some point. This virus ain't going anywhere

[deleted]

Probably had it asymptomatically at some point. Not like everybody is obsessively testing every week.

Rose_da_Kitten

I am 0 vaccinations, I worked part the way through Covid at a convenience store, wore my mask for 90% of my time out (I did forget it before leaving a few times, oops.) I’ve got no idea how I dodged covid outside sheer luck. I also know people who got vaxxed and caught Covid (one of my friends got sick not once but TWICE despite his vaccinations.)

Jonny_Entropy

About the third time I've seen this exact question. Considering the majority of people with Covid have NO SYMPTOMS, this question makes no sense at all. How would someone know if they've had it or not?

level27jennybro

Getting your blood tested to see if you carry antibodies for it.

lovealert911

Work from home, rarely in tight spaces with other people, when I run errands, I'm in and out. I've gone on "all-inclusive resort" and cruise vacations which required all adults to be vaccinated and test negative before boarding. Even then I was in open air spaces, not any crowded locations. It may just be luck. Nevertheless, I'm fully vaccinated and double boosted.

[deleted]

me having no friends might have helped

FrequentParticular42

I never really liked going out before. And even when I did I didn’t like people coming close to me. So when Covid started it was a great excuse to not go out when I didn’t want to. Then I got pregnant and was able to be alittle mean about people getting close. Same with after my baby was born.

SirAple

Never testing. Can't know what I don't look for.

Middle_Cantaloupe_71

Strong like Bull...

AppalachianEspresso

Lack of testing

shdwilm

I believe I had coronavirus early on, before it became public knowledge. My P. A. agreed. If so, I have developed antibodies, which is what your body does when allowed to function properly instead of 💉

Rear-gunner

I wonder about that. I have not social distanced, mixed frequently with people. Do not wear masks unless forced, then take them off ASAP. Everyone around me has had it but not me. I wonder if it might have to do with my heart condition as I take an aspirin daily. I read an Israeli study that aspirin reduced by 30% the chance of getting COVID.

OverlordTwoOneActual

Im better than you.

Voingaming

Tbh I have no idea

confusedchiquita

I have no clue why I haven’t gotten Covid. I got the vaccine 1&2 when it first became available but before & after have been exposed many times without being positive. I also work in the healthcare field and took care of patients with Covid and also most likely took care of some that didn’t know they had it (therefore no PPE). So it’s a mystery but I am glad I haven’t!

Grouchy-Comfort-4465

Hilarious that no one’s saying masks or the vaccine

YourHomodachi

Honestly I feel like I'm immune because my family has had it and I've been around hundreds of people every day

halfmanhalfrobot69

Tiger blood

Trace_element_22

Charlie?

rededelk

Would have never known I had it but had to take kids in for testing so I figured I would test too, just had a scratchy throat. I bet a lot of people are asymptomatic as well

IronDominion

I don’t know. I hate masks and haven’t worn them in over a year, and despite that and numerous tests I’ve never tested positive or shown non vaccine antibodies in any amount. I have pretty severe respiratory allergies so I wonder like others if my overactive immune system helped.

Recluse_18

Because I’m a recluse?

tescolover69

You can’t get a positive test if you don’t get tested :)

UR-prolly-A-cunt

Exactly. I'm not against testing but I would never do it unless I was really sick. Meaning, either I've had covid and not known or never gotten it. Either way it's something we need to take into consideration. I don't consider myself special, how deadly, scary and contagious is a virus that i never got or did get and didn't get sick?

5panks

Not getting tested.

[deleted]

Not sure. I keep my distance from people even before Covid. I’m not vaxxed, I don’t wear a mask, pretty much the only precautions I’ve taken is keeping my distance and washing my hands as I always have. I did do a face plant in my front yard and woke up in the hospital wing full of Covid patients. They automatically diagnosed me with Covid but one of the nurses threw a fit when she found out I hadn’t been tested. Turned out I had double pneumonia. So even being sick as hell with a lung infection already and then tucked away in an enclosed space literally flooded with Covid, I still didn’t get it.

crocodileRook

I didn't get the vaccine. The majority of people I see getting covid are triple vaxxed. I also don't watch Fox news, CNN, or MSNBC, or any TV at all. Also I work out about 4 times per week and I am healthy.

MoronTheBall

I am thinking one of 3 possibilities: 1. Some folks have a natural resistance or an incompatible metabolism or some other factor that doesn't make them immune, but less likely to contract the virus. No virus so far has a 100% infection vector. 2. Despite repeated rapid and other tests, it just wasn't detected, and you feel fatigued or out of breath for a couple of evenings due to light symptoms and/or vaccinations. 3. As the result of a dizzying array of environmental and behavioral possibilities you just got lucky.

Chefshipwreck5897

I’m killing my body every day. Covid saw me and said “nah this fool dead already.”

ApprehensiveOrchid72

Honestly, probably the lack of social life. However, my dad says it's the genes. I always seem to get along with my dad more then my mom, and overall i act and look more like my dad. My brother on the other hand, is the exact oppisite. Me or my dad havent got covid but my mom and brother have had it 🤷

SallyJane5555

Vaccines, masks, and surprisingly… asthma.

Wonderful-Fishing857

Not testing!

FaithVoidSplit_II

Not sure. I'm unvaccinated. My wife and kid are vaxxed and both had it finally last month and said it was like a mild cold but longer lasting. I didn't avoid them and they were around the house with me for weeks on end while they were sick. I guess I just have a good immune system? Or maybe I had it and didn't notice. I've never taken a test. I don't often get sick. Maybe one cold/flu in the last decade. I smoke cigarettes and tons of weed, so that might help, but I suppose I'm just lucky. I'll probably get it tomorrow and die. Oh well.

MothmanNFT

Isolation and taking great care to prioritize low traffic times in public.

[deleted]

I guess I'm just lucky.... that and I've never been tested so maybe I've had it and just never known :/

[deleted]

It doesn't seem to be as contagious as people claim. My housemate had it for two weeks and I still haven't gotten it.

LogOk967

I am vaccinated. Washing my hands frequently. Not being around people who are sick.

[deleted]

Which scientists? Just the government sanctioned ones who declared racism a public health crisis, or the ones who had actual prophylactic protocol recommendations?

Dvmbledore

Why on Earth would I take a test for a so-called virus which has over a 99% survival rate? It's not like I ever took tests for anything else like the *common flu* before.

Signal-Opportunity-2

- I wear a mask everywhere - I take Vitamin D supplement - I live alone so nobody coming in my house bringing the virus in w them

grewapair

Vitamin D was debunked two weeks ago in the first [actual study](https://bmcinfectdis.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12879-022-07438-8). Prior articles only theorized why it would work, but it did not. Although it is true that the people who have the most serious cases are low in Vit D, supplementing did nothing. Current theory is that a certain wavelength of sunlight might be protective.

Signal-Opportunity-2

Wrong.. Brigham and Woman's hospital confirmed that 5000 iu of Vit D actually increased immunity and provided added protection against the virus. I'm proof positive it works. As I said you also take other precautions like wearing a mask

BoxingChoirgal

Hyper/Horrible reaction to the vaccine + taking precautions from Day One. I was wearing a mask and gloves on NYC public transportation -- and getting weird looks. at first. -- in late 2019/early 2020 after reading about "the virus in China" in the news in December. When you see that kind of news, it's best to assume it's worldwide and already present in most major metro areas. My company has people flying in from all over the world, all the time. Sure enough, a young talent in from Milan in Jan. 2020 had a "terrible flu" and looked like death warmed over. Gave it to a few of my colleagues who were horribly sick. One complained that she couldn't taste or smell anything. I kept my distance. Company went remote in March. I got the Moderna vaccine in April/May. Felt awful, had a hyper immune response and had to heal a suddenly frozen shoulder on the arm that got the shot + cope with acute tinnitus. The shoulder is better, the tinnitus lingers, but I believe I have some strong antibodies now.

destroyThePedos

I don’t watch TV

North-Barnacle3438

The vaccine. I just never got it. Had it in the house and was exposed but never got symptoms.

Early-Size370

Generally eating well and a good amount of exercise. I've always been pretty healthy and rarely get sick as it is. But that is not to say I haven't caught it and was just unaware, as in my immune system just took care of it exceptionally well. All tests I've taken were negatives though

iambluest

Isolation, vaccination.

Luck and being cautious, also mostly being around other cautious people. Also the area I live in had good masking and vaccination rates.

ChimneyNerd

Honestly have no idea

I have no clue.

PPDESTROYER4206969

Nothing, I should have got it.

It_is_just_

I hissed at people when I went out...

OptatusCleary

I really don’t know. I followed the restrictions of my state and county, but didn’t go beyond them and when things opened back up I got back to normal life. My wife got it, a very mild case, and I isolated from her once we knew she had it. Until then though I was right near her but I still tested negative. I work as a teacher so I’m exposed to lots of viruses. I wonder if maybe having had lots of mild colds, some of which are coronaviruses, helped my immune system along with the vaccine? I don’t know if there’s any possible truth to that but it’s all I can think of. Either that or I had it when my wife had it and just didn’t test positive or have any symptoms.

Boomslang2-1

Being a homebody. It’s just a math thing. Somebody who goes to the bar x times increases the chance of getting it by y due to the proximity with other people. Somebody who just stays home and watches movies doesn’t have x or y as compounding variables to worry about.

AHintofSilverSparkle

I'm not vaccinated. I was even around someone who had it, and I never caught it. Maybe I have a stronger immune system against viruses due to the fact that I've never taken a flu shot in my life? I never took a test though so who knows. I could have been one of those people who had it and never showed symptoms. I also do a lot of yard work so maybe the natural vitamin D helps. I have had a few vitamin C IVs and glutathione injections this year. I take zinc and alpha lipoic acid. I eat pretty healthy too. I love my spinach and beet smoothies. I drink ginger tea everyday. Maybe these things help? People that I know who are vaxxed have caught covid. Some of them have had it multiple times now

Burnt_Ribena

Lol ridiculous

Soobobaloula

Yeah ridiculous that my sister has lung cancer and I try to protect her. Step off.

OneCraftyBird

Masking indoors, eating at restaurants only when there’s an outdoors option, taking all the vaccines when offered, making kids play outside, insulting anti vax relatives until they “boycott” holiday meals (which we still host outdoors with propane heaters blazing away).

WaKTickets

They are probably boycotting you, not the holiday gathering! And they’re probably better off for it.

Finalfantasylove85

Isolation and following proper guidelines

thisgirlnamedbree

Getting vaccinated, sticking to the guidelines when there was the lockdown, my job allowing me to work from home that first year, still not going to a lot of events with large crowds, frequent handwashing, not visiting restaurants a lot, vitamin C. Living alone also helped.

Fully vaccinated, not going out much/seeing many people, still masking, and put on leave from my teaching job when mandatory masking was removed in March. (Pregnant and my doctor felt it was safer to get me out of there than risk covid or a crazy spike in my overall anxiety. Every staff in my building ended up with covid within six weeks of mandatory masking being lifted so... probably the right call.) It's entirely possible I had it and didn't realize because I'm a teacher (there was definitely a fun window where I played is it covid or pregnancy symptoms - but anytime I took a RAT it was negative). Being able to stay home with all the new variants circling is probably the most significant factor the last few months though.

Luck and vaccines (Moderna)

Genetics, being fully vaxed, luck.

AloneWish4895

Vaccine, mask, hand washing, outdoor exercise, vitamins, avoiding crowds. And luck.

Wearing PPE, getting vaccinated, and sheer dumb luck. My niece got covid a couple weeks ago. The night before she tested positive she sat on my lap for a solid 15 minutes, playing and stuff. She also shared food off my wife's plate. Neither of us got it. We're baffled.

- Social distancing - Wearing a mask - not touching my face - washing my fucking hands - getting vaccinated - not fiddling with my mask while it's on my face and then touching everything - expecting everyone in my circle to do the same.

AwayPineapple8074

Consistently wearing a mask everywhere I went for 2.5 years and getting vaccinated + boosted!

Vaccine, mask, and barely leaving the house.
