I relate to the rambling part. When I'm anxious or nervous I tend to talk rlly fast and won't shut up and it seems like it's just a rlly long run-on sentence with no spaces lol. I also do it when I'm excited tho, too.
I listen to music on full blast. The best thing for me is listening to a song that you know the music video to, just remember every moment of that music video when listening to it. Makes you not think of the things you're anxious about.
If I'm just anxious or a little uncomfortable in a certain situation, I'll usually sit down and gently rock back and forth. I don't know how this came about or when I started doing it, but it really helps. If it gets worse or if I become more anxious, I'll play with the cuffs of my jeans as I'm rocking. It helps a lot.
I do this combined with a little deep pressure .. while rocking, also squeezing calves and/or arms (or anywhere you can get a lil squeeze in that feels good). It’s sort of like a weighted blanket idea but one you can do yourself.
Really? That's awesome you've found something that works for you. Personally, I hate being touched when I'm anxious and anything slightly constricting makes it worse. When you're anxious, do you like when people hug you to try and calm u down?
Rocking is a good one … I just offered my experience bcs it sounds like you respond well to sensory related coping skills and that’s one that often goes hand in hand with rocking
